27. Chapter 25
FRANKIE
F rankie’s eyes went wide as she stared at Trent. He did not just do that to her.
“How could you?” she whispered.
“Your Daddy would never try to get rid of you. He is madly in love with you. I don’t know how you can’t see that,” Trent informed her. “Now, I’m going to leave you with your Daddy. When you are done talking, I will give you your two cookies.”
Frankie didn’t turn around as Trent walked out of the kitchen, leaving Daddy with her. What was she going to say?
“Do you really believe that?” Daddy asked as he sat in front of her.
She shrugged, not looking at him. “No, but yes.”
“Frankie. Sweetheart,” he cooed, reaching over and grabbing her hand. “I would never leave you. You are everything to me. There is no one else in my life. You are it, and I’m more than happy with that. I don’t want anyone else.”
“I’m sorry,” she whispered.
“You’re okay,” he replied. “I’m not mad at you. I’m just a little sad that you would think I would give you up at any point. You are the love of my life.”
Tears pooled in her eyes at his words. He truly meant it.
“I’m sorry,” she whispered again.
“Sweetheart,” he replied, his voice full of care.
“Everything is okay. I’m not mad at you.
I was a little cryptic when I shouldn’t have been.
Yes, we were talking about you, but how I could help you.
How I could be there for you more and help in every aspect of your life.
That is all we were talking about. If you want to go ask Finn, he won’t lie to you. ”
“Wh-what?” she whispered.
“I have had Littles before of my own, but it’s been a while.
I was worried I wouldn’t do something right or be there fully for you.
I was talking to him to make sure that I was.
We Doms sometimes have moments of insecurity and need to talk to other Doms to help out,” Daddy explained.
“I know it seems like we Daddies have everything together, but sometimes we don’t.
Sometimes we feel insecure about things, and that’s when we talk to people we trust who can help us through it.
I was going to tell you after the meeting, but I can see that I should have before.
I didn’t want you to worry, which is what I made you do. ”
Now Frankie felt even worse than before. Why did she have to think the worst? Why couldn’t she have just been calm and let Daddy come to her when he was done?
“Come here. Daddy desperately needs a hug.” He scooted his chair back and held his arms open.
She quickly leaped out of her chair, almost falling flat on her face, and made her way toward him.
“Careful. I don’t want you hurting yourself. I’m not going anywhere,” he said as he held her close.
Frankie snuggled into him.
“I love you,” she whispered. “I really do love you.”
“And I love you, too.”
They sat in silence for several minutes, just enjoying each other's embrace.
“Frankie!” Dominic shouted from outside the kitchen. “Someone is here to see you.”
Her eyebrows pulled together. Who would want to see her? She didn’t talk to anyone outside of work, and no one else knew where she worked.
“Let’s go see who it is.” Daddy helped her off his lap.
Nerves ran through her as they walked out of the kitchen and toward the front door. She didn’t like this.
“He said he knew you from your old apartments and needed to give you something,” Dominic said.
Her steps slowed as she saw the tall figure standing at the entrance. It couldn’t be him, could it be? But the build and the way he was holding himself were exactly like the person who’d broken into her apartment and attacked her.
No.
“Hello there. Did you really think I’d forgotten about you?” He turned around and smiled at Frankie.
She stopped and took a step back, running into Daddy.
“Get him!” Daddy yelled and pointed at him.
Frankie stared as Daddy and Dominic grabbed the man’s arms and held him still. He didn’t even fight back. What was he planning on doing?
“Sweetheart,” Daddy called out, but she continued to stare at the man. “Baby. Frankie, look at Daddy.”
She turned her head and looked at him. His face was full of worry.
“Can you call Baxter for me?” he asked. “I put his phone number in your phone the other day, so you don’t have to get close to pull mine out of my pocket. But I need you to call him and tell him we have the guy who attacked you.”
She could do that, right? It was just a simple phone call, but Frankie found herself staring at Daddy and then back to the guy who’s attacked her instead of calling Sheriff Baxter.
“Frankie,” Daddy instructed. “Call Baxter. Reach into your pocket, open your phone up, and call Baxter. Good girl. I can hear it ringing. When he picks up, I want you to tell him me and Dominic are holding the guy who attacked you and killed the person next door.”
This man could have killed her. He could have done anything to her, and she wouldn’t have been able to fight back.
“Hello? This is Baxter, who’s calling?” Sheriff Baxter said through the phone.
“Daddy and Dominic are holding the man who threatened me,” she whispered, staring at the man.
He had a smirk on his face and was looking right back at her. He didn’t look worried that he was the sheriff was coming.
“I’m on my way,” Sheriff Baxter informed her before hanging up.
“Good girl,” Daddy praised her. “I’m so proud of you for calling him. Now, you can go to my office while we wait for Baxter. You don’t need to look at him.”
But Frankie didn’t move. She needed to see him being taken into custody. What if he tried something and he ended up getting away, again? She wasn’t going to take that chance.
“Why don’t you sit down on the ground?” Dominic suggested. “Give your legs a break.”
And so she sat, but Frankie didn’t take her eyes off her attacker. Any longer on her legs and she would’ve fallen to the ground. Too much had happened in a short period of time, and she wanted to sit and not think about anything for a while.
“Why?” she whispered. “Why come here?”
It didn’t make any sense. He had to know he would get caught and be taken in. Unless he wanted that to happen.
“Unfinished business with someone in the penitentiary,” he growled. “This is the easiest way. Can’t wait another five years for him to get out.”
That didn’t make any sense at all, but Frankie didn’t ask any more questions. She didn’t want to know anything else.
“I’m here!” Sheriff Baxter shouted out as he came rushing into the room.
Frankie kept her eyes on the man as Sheriff Baxter stormed over, arrested him, and cuffed him.
“You are under arrest for the murder of—” Sheriff started to say as he walked out.
“You’re okay,” Daddy whispered from in front of her. “I’m right here. The bad man is getting taken away, so you don’t have to worry anymore.”
Frankie leaned back and lay down on the ground, closing her eyes and taking several deep breaths in. Her attacker was in custody. She didn’t have to worry about him anymore. Everything was going to be just fine.
“Come on, baby.” Daddy grabbed her hand. “Let’s get you home and in bed.”
“Snuggles?” She cracked one eye open to look at Daddy.
He chuckled. “All the snuggles you want. First, I’ll make you a bottle of warm chocolate milk, and then we can snuggle in bed.”
Her nose wrinkled. “Chocolate, ew. Want strawberry.”
“I knew I liked her for a reason other than her charm. She and I are on the same team. Team Strawberry Milk!” Dominic raised his hand in the air.
Frankie giggled before it turned into a full belly laugh with tears rolling down her face. Daddy looked worried, but she didn’t pay any mind to it. Not until she wasn’t laughing anymore but crying.
“Oh, Frankie.” Daddy pulled her close to him.
She snuggled into his chest, holding tightly onto his shirt as he started to walk with her in his arms.
“You’re okay. Let it all out. I’ve got you,” Daddy whispered in her ear. “I’ve got you and nothing is going to happen. You’re safe, Frankie.”
Frankie continued to cry in his chest as everything came crashing down around her. So many things could have gone wrong. How had she gotten so lucky?
“You’re okay,” Daddy whispered. “Everything is going to be okay. I’ve got you.”
But she didn’t feel fully safe right now. The man who threatened her came into her workplace like he owned it. He stormed in full of confidence and ready to do anything.
“Is there anything I can do?” Dominic asked.
“Let me know if there is anything I can do. Frankie is like a little sister to me,” Trent added. “I’ll even do her jobs for a couple of days on top of mine if she needs to take some time off.”
Frankie’s shoulders shook as she started to cry even harder What had she done to deserve these men in her life?
“She has time off, but thank you for offering,” Daddy replied. “I’ll let you know if we need anything. Right now, I am going to get her home so she can get some rest and I can take care of her.”
“I don’t want to see either of you tomorrow or the day after.” Finn’s voice filled the room. “I know I’m not your boss, Noah, but she needs you, and she needs time off. Go and take care of her for the next couple of days. You’ve got a lot of vacation time built up.”
“Don’t worry. I plan to keep her in the house and not let her do anything but let me take care of her,” Daddy replied.
And right now, it sounded like heaven having Daddy take care of her.
“I’m sorry it happened, Little One.” Finn’s voice sounded right next to her.
Opening her eyes, she looked at Finn, and he gave her a small smile.
“I’ll see you when I see you,” he gently said. “Don’t give your Daddy too much trouble.”
“I is a good girl,” she whispered.
Everyone laughed, and Daddy held her tighter.
“Let’s go home.” Daddy kissed the top of her head.
Home.
