Chapter 36

Chapter Thirty-Six

It was a full week later before Nova took the stage again.

A press release had gone out, stating a family emergency was keeping her from performing, and Xavier felt that was accurate.

“I’m glad she has her Mountainville friends here for this,” he told John as the two watched the concert finish up from backstage.

“Me too. Cool that even more came,” John replied, referring to Nancy, Eli, and some of the others from town who’d shown up for the concert.

Xavier was about to say something else to his friend, but was rendered speechless as his babygirl hurried toward him after giving her final bow to the roaring crowd.

With the pyrotechnics blasting and a satisfied audience still cheering, Nova leapt into his arms.

“It’s like they’re applauding us and our happy ending,” she said after kissing him.

“Ending? Babygirl, we’re just getting started.”

They kissed again.

They had to figure out where they’d live, how touring would work, and all the ins and outs. But Xavier knew they that would all come later.

Right now, Daddy had his Little and she was safe.

And that was all that mattered.

“I love you, honey.”

“I love you too, Daddy.”

The crowd continued to cheer as they kissed once again.
