CHAPTER 16 #3

He softly groaned as I rolled my hips down harder against him. His hands slid up, underneath my dress and he squeezed my ass, lifting his hips underneath me. He guided my hips as I rolled them back and forth, feeling his erection grow beneath me.

“You’re not afraid of someone walking in, tesoro ?” he asked and I lined my lips with his.

“No one interrupts their precious boss,” I replied, and he leaned in but I pull back.

I ran my nails up the nape of his neck, running my fingers through his hair. I leaned in, kissing the corner of his mouth, then his jaw and he squeezed my thighs in frustration. I couldn’t help but smile. He wanted me to kiss him.

My lips brushed and kissed every inch of his neck as his hand rode up my back. He gripped the nape of my neck and I couldn’t help but smile.

“You’re teasing me,” he said as I buried my face in his neck. Kissing—sucking—nibbling. I ignored him as I suck on his skin, grinding my hips harder against him. A strained groan erupted from his chest before he pulled me back. “I don’t like it.”

A beat passed as I swallowed a lump of tension down my throat. “You don’t get to leave for two days and just get what you want. That’s not how it works,” I shook my head and his eyes grew darker. There was a knock at the door so I pulled my arms off of him.

“You might want to answer that.” My heart rate increased with every second that he stayed silent as his eyes trailed over my face.

“Come in,” he roughly said and Samantha walked in.

“They’re ready for you,” she said but stopped at the sight of us. “The twins,” she clarified. He gave her a single nod but did not take his eyes off of me.

“You’re fighting each of the twins?” I asked in confusion. “How are you going to fight one after the other?”

Cesar walked in and Antonio averted my eyes. I looked over at Samantha who tried hiding a smile and Cesar who simply cleared his throat. “Okay, what’s going on?” I crossed my arms over my chest.

“He’s not fighting them one after the other, princess . He’s fighting them both at the same time,” she annoyingly spat out and Antonio’s head snapped to her.

Samantha immediately clamped her mouth shut and softly apologized. “You’re joking, right?” I asked with a confused smile. “She’s joking. Right, Antonio?” I asked and he looked over at me, shaking his head. “How are you supposed to—’

“So little faith,” Samantha cut me off. “Do you know how many men Antonio has fought? You’re so clueless, aren’t you?” she crossed her arms over her chest.

“Do you want to keep your job?” Antonio asked her and she raised both hands—surrendering. No, he can’t…

“We have to go,” Samantha announced and I shook my head.

“You’re not fighting two men at the same time,” I looked between the three of them. “That’s fucking stupid.”

“Do you want to know what’s fucking stupid ?” Samantha asked, stepping toward us but Cesar grabbed her arm, pulling her back.

“Samantha, get out,” Antonio sternly warned and she threw her hands in the air before storming out.

“I have to fight, Nirah,” he finally said. “What? You don’t think I can handle it?” he asked and I was left speechless.

“I don’t know what you can handle because you never talk to me about anything—Cesar is always the one talking, but as of lately he’s been very quiet,” I paused, catching my breath. “So, no, I don’t know but I don’t care either. You’re not getting yourself beat up in a stupid boxing ring.”

“Scared they might mess up my handsome face?” he humorously asked.

“Yes,” I nodded. “Then what’s the point of marrying you,” I shrugged my shoulders.

“I can handle it,” he assured me.

I got up. “Do whatever you want, but I won’t watch you get hurt,” I said before walking toward Cesar. “Take me back to the house, please,” I steadied my voice and he looked over at Antonio. “I’m not supposed to leave your side, right? So take me or I’m walking to God knows where.”

Cesar nodded and led me out of the room.

“Hey,” Samantha grabbed my arm as she passed us. I sighed, throwing my head back. “He’s a really good fucking fighter, Nirah,” she softly said. “Just trust him.” I turned my body to face her and she lowered her eyes. “Cesar and I wouldn’t send him in there if we knew he couldn’t handle it.”

“I’m supposed to trust the woman who’s been nothing but a complete bitch to me from the beginning?” I asked and she smiled.

“Then trust your big fella ,” she mocked me, nodding toward Cesar and I looked over at him. He gave me a single nod and I looked back at Samantha.

“Look after my fiancé, or you and I will end up in the ring,” I warned her.

She grinned, giving me a single nod. “Yes ma’am.”

The drive back home was quiet, and it had even started drizzling.

By the time I was warmly tucked into bed, the sky roared with a deafening thunder. I turned on my side, closing my eyes. All I could see was him. My heart hadn’t stopped racing since I left that place. I hope he is okay…

After tossing and turning for hours I decided to take Rosalia up on her offer.

As soon as she saw how distraught I was when we got home, she was keen on making sure that I knew I could come to her when I was ready. I deeply appreciated that.

I got out of bed and quietly closed my bedroom door behind me.

I made my way down the hallway as I looked for her.

I stopped as I saw Antonio’s bedroom door slightly open.

I slowly walked toward it, peeking through the open creek.

I pushed the door just a little to find him on the edge of his bed, cleaning a wound on his stomach. Jesus Christ, Antonio
