Chapter 19 Presley

Presley

“Carl will take you both to your room. Get cleaned up and I will see you later for dinner. We have a lot to discuss,” Master says then heads towards his office.

We follow Carl in silence through a few secured doors that only someone with a keycard can open.

I wonder if Axel has been on this side of this place.

I know I haven’t and it makes me nervous.

Carl stops abruptly and opens the door to our room.

“Here we are,” he tells us as I step inside and Axel follows behind me.

The door shuts and locks and I jump, wrapping my arms around my body.

I walk further into the room and it’s much bigger than the one I was in.

There’s a TV mounted on the wall. Big windows above a full size bed, two desks, and another full size bed on the opposite side.

There’s a small closet and another door which I walk to and peek inside.

A standup shower and toilet with a sink.

Nothing too fancy but better than I had imagined.

Walking back out into the room, Axel has his back to me as he stares out of the window.

“Axel, I’m so sorry, I-I thought I was helping.

I would—” I say, but he whips around, staring at me with so much hate in his eyes that it makes me take a step back.

He quickly walks over to me and cups my face, and I lean into his warmth, shutting my eyes for a moment.

But suddenly, his hand is wrapped around my throat, squeezing, and my eyes pop open as I stare into his.

“Don’t ever fucking touch me again! Do you understand me?

” he spits, his tone laced with venom. Tears automatically fall from my eyes, and he tsks.

“I don’t want to see your tears. They’re useless at this point, just like you!

” he growls, his words hitting me straight in my heart, doing exactly what they intended to do.

“P-please,” I rasp, but he squeezes tighter.

“Shut the fuck up! Don’t speak to me. Don’t look at me. Act like I’m fucking dead! Because you already are to me.” Again, his words cut me to shreds.

“I-I’m s-orry,” I rasp again, but he shakes his head, shoving me away from him.

I stumble and the back of my knees hit the mattress, causing me to fall.

He looks at me one last time before spitting on my chest and walking into the bathroom, slamming the door.

I scramble into the bed and cover myself with the blanket, sobbing into the pillow.

He hates me. He really fucking hates me.

I can’t. I can’t do this. How will I ever get him to forgive me?

The damage is done. I did this. It’s all my fault, and there's no coming back from it.

Once the others find out about this and what happened with Brax—they will all hate me.

So now I have no choice, yet again, but to be the Little Doll they want me to be.

The trophy wife to Jacob Lee. This is it. This is fucking it.

I continue to sob into my pillow until my eyes become heavy and sleep takes over, sending me into a dream where I’m with all my guys and none of this ever happened.

I was woken up by an elderly lady named Marge.

Master sent her to fix my hair. So here I am, standing in front of the mirror after a long shower that hurt like hell.

Axel really did a number on me, and thankfully, Marge brought a first aid kit so I could clean my cuts.

I probably need stitches for the slash along my chest but I guess it will have to wait.

Looking at myself, tears fall down my face.

I can’t stop crying. I keep thinking about what I had to do to Axel and his vile words to me.

It hurts, it hurts so fucking bad to hear him say those things to me but what am I to do?

Picking up the brush, I wince because my wrists are still weak from what I did, but I straighten my stance and comb out what's left of my hair. Jake knew what he was doing when he took the sharp shears from my vanity and cut through my locks, leaving yet another mark on my soul that will never be repaired. Which in turn left Marge to cut it down to right under my chin. It’s all gone.

All of it. My curls–there’s no more. Tears fall down my face, making me further hate myself.

I hate my hair. I hate my face. I hate everything.

I really wish I had done a better job of trying to kill myself because all I did was left one nightmare for another.

Turning, I remove the deep blue dress from the hanger and put it on. Master provided me with undergarments that made me want to vomit. I’m in a mental institution. Why the fuck do I need lingerie? This makes me believe that tonight’s dinner isn’t just dinner and that worries me.

Exiting the bathroom, I see Axel sitting on his bed.

His eyes snap to mine for a brief moment, then he snarls and looks away as he puts black loafers on.

I walk over to my bed and sit, looking at the floor and seeing blue suede heels that match the dress I’m wearing.

I lean down and wince as I slide my feet into them.

My dress rides up, exposing the cuts I left myself, and my head snaps to Axel who’s looking straight at my thighs with narrowed eyes.

I immediately pull the dress down to cover it, feeling embarrassed that he saw.

He knows I’m a cutter just like him, but after the things he said to me, I no longer want him looking at me.

His eyes now make me feel dirty and that hurts so god damn much.

The door buzzes, causing me to jump as a man I’ve never seen dressed in black slacks and a grey sweater walks into the room.

“Axel and Presley, I’m Harrison. It’s time for dinner,” he states, and I nod.

“If you both will follow me,” he says, gesturing to the door.

I get up from the bed and walk after him, and I can feel Axel close behind me.

We walk to an elevator and get in. Harrison presses the button for the basement and the doors shut, sending us down.

My heart beats rapidly and my hands shake, not knowing what to expect of the night.

The elevator dings and Harrison gestures for me to step out first. The hallway is like night and day from where we were.

The walls are red with black trimming and sconces light up our path.

“This way,” he says, but this time Axel gets in front of me so I follow behind, staring at the back of his head.

His shoulders are tense and his hands are in fists at his side.

He’s nervous, and I hate that for him. Let me be the nervous one.

He needs to show no fear, otherwise Master is going to eat him alive.

But as we approach a room that Harrison opens the door to, Axel’s entire demeanor changes.

His spine is ram rod straight with his shoulder back and his head held high.

I should’ve known better. He’s a fucking Cyprus for christ sake.

They fear no one, especially in scenarios like this.

Following behind my Fallen Angel, the room is dim with candles lit and a long black table in the middle. Master sits at the head of the table with a fire roaring behind him.

“Welcome, please have a seat,” he orders as Harrison’s hand finds my lower back, leading me to a chair and pulling it out for me.

“Thank you,” I say softly as Axel takes the seat across from me and Harrison sits next to me, closer to Master.

“We are just waiting for one more person, then we shall start on the first course. Little Doll, Did Marge take good care of you?” he asks, and I nod, taking the napkin and placing it on my lap.

“Yes, she did. Thank you,” I reply, and he smiles.

“You look stunning tonight, absolutely breathtaking, Presley,” he praises, and I smile, wanting to vomit because I feel anything but pretty.

“Thank you, Master. You look dapper yourself,” I reply, and he chuckles.

“Are you flirting with me, Little Doll?” he asks, quirking a brow, and I immediately shake my head, causing him and Harrison to laugh. I look over at Axel who is staring at the two of them with murder in his eyes. I’m not sure why but I look down and wait until I’m spoken to.

The door opens and I look over at who it is and a girl a little older than me with long black hair and big green eyes walks into the room wearing a white jumpsuit that hugs her body perfectly. She’s gorgeous.

“Sorry I’m late, Uncle. Please forgive me.” She smiles, and he scoffs.

“Don’t call me that. The Pierce name is a disgrace. How many times do I need to tell you that, Girl. I may be your uncle but I am no Pierce.”

“Whatever you say. So, what did I miss?” she asks, and Master rolls his eyes as she sits beside Axel.

“Nothing yet,” he says, snapping his fingers, and waiters start coming in with bowls of soup, placing them in front of us. “Please, eat. Then we will discuss business,” he tells us, and I lift the spoon and swirl the soup around as my stomach growls.

Scooping up the warm liquid, I bring it to my lips and moan. I can’t remember the last time I ate anything, but this is really good. It’s not long after I finish the bowl that the next course is being served. A small mixed salad with a raspberry dressing.

“Kayla, darling, after dinner is over you are going to take Presley to Enthralled for the next few days. I want you to show her the ropes. Then she will go to the Brimstone house,” Master states, and my eyes widen.

I have no idea what Enthralled is but Brimstone is the place Jacob Lee took me. Fuck!

“Yes, Uncle. No problem,” she says, smiling at me. I shiver at the look she sends my way. Her eyes are filled with malice, but then she looks over at Axel and they burst with lust. My hand tightens around my fork as I dig into my salad, taking a bite.

“Harrison, you will take Axel to the cabin. Training begins tomorrow. If you both abide by the rules and succeed through your training, then you will be set free,” Master states ,but I don’t want to be let go, especially if that means I’m back in the hands of The Radleys. That’s one place I don’t want to be.

“Understood. I won’t disappoint you,” Harrison answers, and Master smiles, placing his hand over Harrison's.

“Oh, I know, My perfect Little Puppet,” he says, and I cringe. I look over at Axel and clear my throat.

“Axel, can you pass me the salt please,” I ask, and his eyes snap to mine, but he doesn’t say anything. “Please,” I ask again, and this time, he drops his fork and it clatters against the expensive china, only for him to flip me his middle finger, making Master laugh.

“This is going to be a great adventure. I’m already proud of you both,” he praises, making Axel smirk. I take a deep breath as Harrison passes me the salt.

“Thank you,” I say softly and sprinkle it on top of my salad.

I sit here through the main course and dessert as Harrison, Kayla, and Master chit chat about plans they have to take down a girl named Jade and a few other people I’ve never heard of.

I stare at the empty plates because if I look up at Axel one more time to find him staring at me with disgust, I might just flip the fuck out and scream at him.

But I know I can’t, I just need to abide by the rules and try to get through this as best as I can.

“You are all free to go tonight. Thank you for having dinner with me. It was a pleasure. Harrison, meet me in my office before you leave.” He winks as everyone rises from their chairs. Kayla walks over to me and grabs my hand.

“We are going to be best of friends, Presley. I just know it.” She smiles as we walk out of the room. I glance over my shoulder and see Axel staring at me as I leave with a sad look in his eyes.

Goodbye, my Fallen Angel.
