Chapter 13
Chapter
Thirteen
brONWYN
I’m so sick of my days feeling so long and exhausting.
At this point, they’re just blurring into each other.
Even if I do find sleep, I don’t feel rested or recharged.
A long, hot shower isn’t even doing it for me anymore.
The tension is still burning in my shoulders from the weight I’ve been carrying around.
It physically hurts to dry my hair, which is why settling for a quick towel dry will have to do.
I know I’m going to regret it in the morning when I wake up looking like I’ve been electrocuted, but that’s tomorrow’s problem.
I slip on an emerald green lounge set, grab a drink from the fridge, and settle in on my couch as I fire up my gaming system, hoping Wiz is on so I can vent to someone freely.
I’ve thought about how much easier it would be if we exchanged numbers, but neither one of us has made the first move to make it happen.
It feels like a line we both silently agreed never to cross.
Plus, what if I meet him and he isn’t what I built him up to be in my head? Not that it would matter as long as he isn’t someone who doesn’t sleep with a fan on or something, but I still think a small part of me would be disappointed.
After cracking open my Diet Coke, I stick a bendy straw in it and take a long sip as I log into my saved game and wait for it to load.
I bet Gio would have an umbrella in his.
Just as I’m grabbing my headset off the cushion next to me, the lock at my front door rattles, causing my head to whip to the side and watch in silent horror as the handle jiggles.
Holy shit.
My pulse races as my heart feels like it’s crawled into my throat.
What if Brian isn’t really dead, and he’s come back to finish the job?
The door handle stops moving, leaving my apartment eerily quiet. All I can hear is the sound of my breathing and my heart pounding in my ears. My hand clenches the top of my headset as I stupidly wait, my eyes wide and alert.
To my horror, the lock clicks, echoing throughout my apartment before the door bursts open, bouncing off the wall.
I gasp, my hand flying to my chest as I watch Gio saunter in with a scowl on his face. The sleeves of his shirt are rolled up and the top three buttons undone, giving me a tease of the skin underneath. His hair is messy, almost as if he’s been running his fingers through it.
He looks like a beast stuck in a cage, and I’ve never witnessed anything hotter in my entire life.
Gio grabs my front door and slams it shut behind him without breaking stride. I hold my breath as he crosses the few feet until he stops before me. My head tilts back slowly, my eyes taking their time to roam every delicious inch of him until I meet his eyes.
Shit.
He’s really angry.
“Do you have something you want to tell me?” Gio asks, his jaw clenched.
Do I have something I want to tell him?
“Um, no?” My answer comes out as a question because I’m so fucking confused.
“No?” Gio repeats, his tone taking on an edge I haven’t heard before.
Goosebumps pepper my skin, but not in fear. No, this feels like a promise of something that’s coming.
I clear my throat and squirm in my seat. My eyes dart around the room, the heat in his gaze is too much to take. “No.”
“Eyes on me, cara.” Gio’s order whips around the room, sending a rush of heat between my legs.
My eyes slowly roam back up, landing on the bulge that’s eye level with me.
His dick is hard and resting against his thigh, straining against his slacks.
I can feel myself growing wet at the thought of Gio being hard for me.
I feel a sense of power knowing I did that to a man who has everything he wants, and if he doesn’t have it, he takes it.
“Eyes. On. Me.” I blink, looking up at him through my lashes. His nostrils flare from me listening to his command. “Now, I’m going to ask you one more time. Did you forget to tell me something?”
I quickly run through my day trying to remember anything that had happened that he would be upset about, but my mind comes up blank. I can’t think clearly when a weapon of mass destruction is staring me in the face.
“Bronwyn,” Gio snaps.
I swallow before rushing out a quick, “No.”
Gio’s face hardens. “Wrong answer, baby.”
I stare up at him, confused.
“Get on your knees,” Gio orders.
My breath hitches as my body reacts before my mind can catch up.
My butt slides off the couch, and my knees hit the ground.
As my lips part, Gio’s tattooed hand moves to his belt, and then to the button of his slacks, undoing it slowly.
My tongue darts out, slowly licking my bottom lip as Gio slides his slacks down a few inches, taking his boxers with them until his aching cock springs out and the band of his boxers is tucked underneath his balls.
I inhale his musky scent as I watch a drop of pre-cum leak out of the purple head.
He’s average in length, but he’s thick. Jesus Christ, that girth.
I press my thighs together, trying to ease the ache that’s growing between them as I think about how it would feel to have him stretch me.
I bet it would hurt a little. The good kind of hurt that would have me begging for more.
“Suck,” he demands.
My tongue flicks out, licking the drop of pre-cum before it falls as my hand wraps around the base of his dick, gripping it tightly.
My eyes flutter closed as a soft moan escapes me.
He tastes of salt, sin, and promises begging to be fulfilled, all wrapped up in one.
He tastes like an addiction I’m never going to be able to kick.
I take the entire head in my mouth, hollowing my cheeks as I suck and lick while my hand pumps the base of his cock. I set a steady pace, occasionally taking him deeper and shallower, picking up the pace and slowing down.
Gio’s hand laces through my hair, tugging hard until tears are leaking out of the corners of my eyes as the head of his cock hits the back of my throat, making me gag.
“Fuck,” he groans, pushing himself deeper down my throat. I moan around him as I take him deep, looking up at him through wet lashes. “You look so fucking pretty when you cry with my cock in your mouth.”
Using the hold he has on my hair, he moves my head back and forth, setting his own vicious pace. His breathing is labored and eyelids are heavy as he watches the show from above. I’m rubbing my thighs together, matching his pace as I try to find any sort of relief.
“Suck, ah, shit.” His head tips back, the tendon on the side of his neck bulging out. “You have about thirty seconds to tell me where you want me to cum.”
I knew my decision the second I tasted him.
I release the hold I have on his cock, my hands move to his ass and dig in.
“Oh, fuck yeah.” Gio pumps his hips faster as I suck harder.
Two more pumps and his hot seed floods my mouth, spurt after spurt hitting the back of my throat.
It keeps coming, too much for me to swallow at once.
I can feel his cum seeping out the corners of my mouth and trickling down my chin as he lazily pumps in and out of my mouth as his cock softens.
Gio stares down at me with an easiness about him that I’ve never seen before.
His thumb reaches up to my face and gently wipes away the cum.
“I was wrong. You look even prettier with my cum leaking out of your mouth.”
Gio removes his softened cock from my mouth with a pop. I watch from my knees as he tucks himself away. His hand stretches out toward me, and I stare at it, once again back to not knowing what he wants.
“Let me help you up, baby,” he says, his voice still a little gravely from his orgasm. “The only time you belong on your knees is when you’re begging for my cock.” Without a word, I place my hand in his and let him pull me up so I’m standing in front of him. “Sit.” He motions to my couch.
I sit down next to him, not knowing what to do next as the realization of what just happened comes crashing down.
Oh my god.
I just sucked his dick in my living room like some fucking whore.
That’s not me.
That’s not who I am.
My body might be attracted to him, but the rest of me finds him annoying, bossy, and overbearing. He has no sense of boundaries or personal space.
His large tattooed hand covers my thigh, drawing my attention to it. He squeezes it in what I’m assuming is meant to be a reassuring gesture, but it’s almost enough to send me spiraling.
“I can hear the wheels turning in that gorgeous head of yours,” Gio says. “There’s no need to freak out because it will happen again.”
“I don’t think so.” I frantically shake my head. “This can’t happen again. You and I need to stick to a professional relationship. I appreciate you killing someone for me. It was a sweet gesture, really, but that’s where this ends.”
Gio laughs. “Jesus, you’re fucking adorable.”
My eyes narrow. “Nothing about this is funny.”
“Yeah, it is,” Gio says as he strokes my thigh.
I try to ignore the damp feeling of my panties as my skin burns under his touch.
“You just sucked my cock like you were starved for it, only to turn around a minute later and tell me it can’t happen again, and then thank me for killing someone for you all in the same breath.
If you think I won’t have your lips, that I’ve been fantasizing about since the moment I saw you, around my cock again, then yeah, cara, that’s fucking funny. ”
“It’s not happening again, Gio.”
“Your body tells a different story.” His eyes sear into my flesh as they roam my body.
My chest heaves up and down as I find it hard to breathe.
He’s suffocating in the best way possible, yet somehow I know he’s going to be my downfall.
He just came, but his cock is half-mast against his thigh, ready to go again.
I lick my lips at the promise now that I know what’s inside.
How is it possible to ache for something that I’ve never had?
“Uh, uh, uh,” Gio tsks, drawing my attention up to his heated eyes.
“I want you again, my sweet baby, but only good girls get this cock. Do you want to be a good girl?” I nod, unable to trust myself to form a coherent sentence right now.
“Good,” he praises. “Now, tell me why you didn’t tell me my brother paid you a visit? ”
My eyes widen. How did he know about that?
“I didn’t know I needed to,” I admit.
He’s not my keeper. Was I shocked Matteo took it upon himself to corner me and have a conversation? Yeah. But did I think it was enough to run to Gio about with my tail between my legs? Absolutely not.
“And why is that?” he asks. It sounds blasé, but I’ve been around this man enough to know that it’s anything but.
“Because it didn’t seem like a big deal. Your family owns this building, and it only seemed natural for him to want to know my story of what happened in the alley.”
Something flares in Gio’s eyes that makes me uneasy.
His hand leaves my thigh and comes up to cup my cheek, stroking it gently as he speaks so softly it sends chills down my spine.
“I don’t give one single fuck who is questioning you, including my goddamn brother.
No one questions you without me at your back. Got it?”
“Got it,” I swallow.
“Did he scare you?”
“No.”
“I don’t like it when you lie to me,” Gio says.
Is he a wizard? How does he know I’m lying?
“When someone is meant to be yours, you’re in tune with their every move, every little reaction down to the way they let out little moans when they suck your cock. You haven’t realized it yet, but you will.”
Meant to be yours.
My heart pounds in my chest at his choice of words. I know a man like Gio doesn’t say something unless he means it entirely. The only time he bullshits is when he’s trying to cheat his way out of something, which nine times out of ten ends in bloodshed.
“Did he scare you?” Gio asks again.
“A little,” I hesitantly answer, not wanting to set him off. “He’s your brother and you’ve been around him your entire life so I doubt you’re affected by it, but your brother is one scary dude. I wasn’t expecting him to show up like that, so I think it caught me off guard more than anything.”
Gio’s jaw clenches. “It won’t happen again. You have nothing to fear from my brother, but you have my word it won’t happen again.”
“Thank you.”
“I want you to promise me something.”
This man and his promises. I contain my eye roll. Barely. “What?”
“If anyone shows up, and you feel threatened in any sort of way, doesn’t matter where you are, I want you to call or text me immediately.”
I sigh. “You don’t think that’s a bit of an overkill?”
“No.”
This time I roll my eyes. “Fine. I pinky promise I will text or call you if something makes me uncomfortable,” I say as I hold my pinky up.
Gio looks between my face and outstretched finger, his lip tipping up slightly as amusement takes over his face.
His large pinky wraps around mine, engulfing it, and somehow making me feel safer than I’ve felt in a long time.
I shake out entwined pinkies before bringing them to my lips, placing a soft kiss on them.
Gio’s eyes sear into mine from the contact.
“It’s not a pinky promise if it isn’t sealed with a kiss,” I tell him.
Gio silently studies me before finally bringing our entwined pinkies ever so slowly to his lips, kissing the same section of skin my lips touched.
My breath hitches in my throat. There’s something so intimate about this moment.
It feels like something bigger than a pinky promise was just sealed. A promise of fate sealed.
A fate that’s going to change my life forever.
