4. EMMA

Chapter four

EMMA

C razy how a bad day can go from just being bad, to being a really fucking shitty day. From the start of my morning, my father and Ryan's crazy fucking idea for Ace and I to marry. I mean, he's not bad eye candy, that's for sure, but this can't happen.

My duties as a Mafia Queen are to be taken seriously. I must show my respect and do as Ace says, there can be no sass, or he will be required to put me in my place, as my father says. I also must produce heirs for Ace, to pass down our Empire's.

Trying to just burn off steam by taking my car for a drive, Ace and I have company trailing behind us.

Except, they aren't cops with their blue and red lights, those are the Heathens.

“We have company, Ace.”

Ace looks behind us, then looks to me. “Those aren't cops.”

“I know, they're Heathens.”

“How do you know about them?”

I snort a laugh. “How do you know about them?”

“Baby Girl, just because I haven't been here doesn't mean I don't know what is happening in my city.”

I bark a laugh; his city, “I think you mean our city.”

Raising a brow I look over at him, with a playful smile.

“Touché.” He jokes. “So what are you going to do about our friends back there?”

“What do you want me to do with them? Would you like to have a little fun? Just fucking run away and hide? You tell me?” I ask him.

I laugh, knowing I personally like to have a little fun with them.

It's really playing with the Devil though, if they catch me, they will steal my car and ship it overseas for big money.

That's what the Heathens do, a Cartel gang in this city that steals expensive, fast cars and ships them for double the money overseas and recently sneaking into our casinos, cheating at our tables.

When I finally pull my eyes away from the road that is going by in a blur, I look over at Ace, his lips turning into a dark and twisted grin. “I don't know, how dangerous are you feeling?”

“Let me make a quick call, and then I'll answer that for you.” I'm not worried about the Heathens behind me, I have nothing but open roads in front of me, and I'm cruising at a good 130mph. I reach down and hit a button on my small flat screen, it rings and rings until Zee’s voice sounds throughout my car. “Hey Em, what's up?”

I swear I hear a growl deep in Ace's throat; jealous much.

“Hey Zee, I need some eyes. Can you help me out?”

“Let me in.”

I hit another button on the flat screen, granting Zee access to my car, giving him my location, how my motor is running, gas gauge, everything, he can see it all now.

“So what kind of fun are we getting into tonight?” Zee lets out a dangerous laugh hearing his finger's typing away on his computer. He's a tech God, he can do it all and he's good at cars too, he's going to help me one day in the states races.

“Oh, just a casual stroll turned into a Heathens run.” I joke as I look over at Ace, who looks at me with a brow raised.

“Alright Em, can you stall for a minute?”

A wicked smile twists from my lips, “Sure thing, you ready? ”

“When you are.”

I take in a deep breath and look over at Ace, “Whatever you do, don't freak out.”

“What are you doing?” He growls.

“Having fun!”

“NOW!” Zee barks and I check my mirrors, making sure there is no one next to me, then I pull my e brake, pushing in the clutch at the same time, turning my wheel, as my car starts turning to the side, I hit the brakes and my car slides sideways in the middle of the highway, causing the cars behind me to lock up their brakes as well, until everyone is at a standoff.

I reach between my seat and center console, wrapping my hand around my handgun, pulling it out, then opening my door.

“Have you lost your fucking mind, get in the car.” Ace warns in a growl and a little giggle comes out, “Shhh, watch and learn baby.”I step out of the car, still standing behind my door, with my gun in hand resting behind my back, looking out at the Heathens as they start descending from their cars.

“What seems to be the problem here boys?” I yell out to them, with a playful smirk on my face. ..

“We just want to talk.”

“I don't think that's all you want to do, now is it?”

“I got it, Em.” Zee advises and I tilt my head to the side playfully, adding a little giggle to my voice. “It's been fun boys, but time for me to go. Catch Me if you can!”

I slide down into my car, press the clutch in and peel wheels out of there, slamming gears, looking over at Ace and a laugh barks from my throat. “Was that fun enough for you?”

“You're fucking crazy!”

“Emma, get off now.” Zee orders and I take the exit off the highway, and now is when I have to pay attention and drive to get the fuck away from the Heathens, listening to every word Zee says as he guides me through the city speeding.

ACE

My mouth has dropped to this car floor a million times with the way she is driving this car through the city, but that little stunt on the highway. She’s fucking dangerous and I fucking love it.

Her father is a fucking idiot for not respecting her and treating her like the Queen she deserves to be, and will be when I get her to marry me with this contract our fathers came up with.

She's not going to agree to this easily, I can sense she's going to fight me on it, and I'm prepared for it, but fuck, she's fucking doing something to me with all her bad girl shit.

These Heathens are no joke. Caz has been watching them at the casino's and at the street races, waiting for them to make a move. Which makes me wonder, how much does Emma know about these punks, does she know about the Casino, or is Charles keeping that from her too?

“How much do you know about these guys, Emma?” I ask her, I want to know.

“What do you mean? Like what they do?”

“Yeah.”

“Well, I think they're playing dirty at our tables, but Dad keeps blowing me off about it. And then the car shit, this isn't my first rodeo with them.”

“They've chased you before?”

“Yeah, a couple months ago.”

“And the casino?”

“I've told Dad, but he doesn't seem bothered, so what the fuck am I supposed to do?”

“Come to me.” I growl.

“Ummm, if you have forgotten, you've been away, and well I didn't know I could.”

She steals a glance over at me while she continues to maneuver her way through the city, playing her cat and mouse game, which I find extremely entertaining and not just by making me laugh and happy, well happy yes, happy between my fucking legs, christ, this girl has got my dick so fucking hard in my pants.

“I was supposed to pay a player a visit this evening, but something came up.” Her lips curl up into a smile, her eyes catching another glance.

“Left.” Zee keeps barking out directions, like he is sitting in this car on the map as we move, pretty fucking slick if you ask me but we still have to watch what we say, I don't know this guy Zee, but I had Caz look into him last night, I'm still waiting though.

I have to get him off the phone, knowing this is our chance to take these fuckers down. And for me to show her I will stand by her side and listen to her, unlike her father.

I pull my phone out and text Caz, telling him to track me, and bring the men with him. These mother fuckers want to play in my city, and with my Queen, they will meet their maker tonight.

EMMA

Constantly shifting gears, driving down side streets, alleyways, trying to shake these ass holes, but the driver tonight is good, but I wait, my chance will come.

Stealing a glance at Ace, watching him text on his phone, Zee barks out. “Alright Em, you gotta take 'em back out on the highway, and let her eat.”

“Alright, can do.” I make my way to the highway, dodging cars and people, running red lights, I get to the exit and I slam my foot down on the gas pedal, before shifting again and slamming the gas down again, pulling away from the car behind me.

I see Ace reach over, and hit the button that loses all my connection with Zee. “What the fuck are you doing?”

“We need to end this with them, Emma. I know about the casinos, what they have been doing, I know all about it, and so does your father. Caz will be here any minute, but I need you to turn around and head towards him, instead of away from him or he'll never catch you. ”

What is he asking me to do? I swallow hard, my duties chomping at the bit to be the person I was born to be, but then my heart tells me to stop. “Ace, you're asking me to lead you towards them, if they catch me…” I hesitate.

“I trusted you, now I need you to trust me.” I look over at him, searching his eyes, my heart slamming against my chest and it wins, my duties always fucking win.

I search for the nearest turn around, before I spin my car around, going the opposite direction, heading back to the city. Ace's phone rings and he answers on the first ring, saying the word warehouse, then hangs up.

“Go to the South Warehouse, take this exit.” He points to the exit and I nod as I swallow hard, knowing what normally goes down at the south warehouse, again another thing my father thinks I don't know.

Taking the exit, making my way through the city, before getting to the rows of warehouses, six cars are still right behind me.

“When I tell you to get down, get down, do you understand me?” Ace growls. My head snaps over, glaring at Ace. “They better not shoot my fucking car!” I warn him but a deep dangerous growl escapes from his throat. “Do you understand?”

“Yes.” I downshift as I slide into the entryway of the warehouse lot, surprisingly these dumbasses are still on my ass, not even realizing they're being set up.
