Chapter 4 #6

I cry out in pain, but he chuckles as he covers my mouth and slams into me again and again.

He isn’t letting up and the pain is getting worse.

My mumbles are pleas for him to stop, but he doesn’t.

It seems to go on forever, but time is moving so slowly that it’s realistically just a few minutes of him furiously pumping himself into me.

He suddenly uncovers my mouth before wrapping his hands around my throat and squeezing.

All the effects of the drugs that he slipped me quickly disappear and my body allows me to fight him but not enough.

Stars fill my vision, and everything is blurrier than it already was.

His groans are loud. He’s going to fucking kill me if he doesn’t stop.

I keep slapping at him but it’s not enough.

He won’t stop and everything begins to tunnel.

The last thing I remember before the world goes dark is his loud moan as he comes.

“Ma’am?” I hear a man with a thick southern accent say. I’m trying to force my eyes open, but I can’t.

“Holy fuck. Is she dead?” another man says.

“She’s not dead. Shut the fuck up,” the southern man says. “I think someone raped her. She has blood all over her thighs.”

“Untie her before she wakes up. She shouldn’t wake up like that,” another voice says. “Someone cover her up with something. Here…” Something is laid over my body and I groan.

“Can you hear me?” the southern man asks. “Miss? Can you hear me? You’re gonna be okay.”

My eyes flutter open but I immediately squeeze them shut and start crying when I see a group of guys looking at me.

“Give her some space. Don’t crowd her,” the southern man says. “What’s your name, Miss?”

“Alice,” I whisper. I feel the restraints on my wrist disappear, but someone has my hands in theirs

“Here, sit up so we can get this shirt on you, okay?” I want to fight him whenever he sits me up, but the logical side of my brain is yelling at me that he’s trying to help.

He puts on a T-shirt that is entirely too big on me before scooping me up in his arms. “P-Please don’t hurt me,” I whisper through my tears.

“I won’t hurt you. I promise, Miss Alice. I’m just taking you somewhere, so you don’t have a bunch of people starin’ at you,” he says. “Open the door.”

We walk into a building. I don’t know where I’m at, but it looks vaguely familiar. “Where am I?” I ask quietly.

“You were in the equipment shed by the baseball field. We were about to start warming up when I found you,” he says.

“Woah. Who is she?” another man asks. He sounds older.

“Her name is Alice. Can I put her in your office? We found her in the equipment shed tied to one of the fucking shelves. Billy is calling the cops.”

“Was she…” he trails off.

“Yeah. Her legs are covered in blood. We put Andrew’s T-shirt on her because she didn’t have anything on. I don’t know if we were supposed to do that, but I didn’t want her exposed.”

“I need to call Kaylee,” I mumble.

“Is she your friend?” he asks as he sits me in a chair. I am unsteady so he pulls the chair up and sits close so he can keep his hands on me. Every time he tries to let go of me, I almost fall.

“Yeah,” I whisper.

“My name is Matt,” the southern man says. “Call your friend.” He put his phone in my hand, and I stared at it for a second trying to remember Kaylee’s number.

“Do you know who did this to you? Do you remember anything?” The other man asks.

“Uhm… yeah. I was at a party with Kaylee. Uhm… my boyfriends had to study so we went without them. Fisher Adams… he uh… he tried to drug me once before I started dating my boyfriends, but luckily, they were paying attention more than me. I thought… I thought he gave up,” I say as I start to cry again. “I can’t remember her fucking number.”

“Who are your boyfriends?” he asks.

“Brett Sinclair and Zeke Cassidy,” I say.

“Oh shit. I have both of their numbers. Do you want to call one of them?” he asks.

“Is today Saturday?” I ask.

“Yeah. It's about six at night” Matt says.

“Fuck. That party last night. How do I not remember being stuck in a fucking shed all day?” I ask. “They are probably losing their mind. Call either of them. They are always together.”

“Do you want me to tell him?” he asks, and I nod.

He takes his phone and tops around for a second before putting it to his ear.

“Hey man… yeah, it’s Matt. Listen… The guys and I were about to start practice and we went to the equipment shed and we found y’all’s girl, Alice…

No, Billy called the cops. I’m sitting with her in the coach's office… no, she’s not okay.

” He looks at me with sorrow on his face, but I nod.

I don’t know if I have the words to say it out loud.

My body hurts and I’m so fucking thirsty, I could drink a lake.

“No, she said Fisher Adams drugged her. She hasn’t specifically said it, but her legs are covered in blood, and we found her tied to the leg of the shelf in the equipment shed.

I’m pretty sure she’s dehydrated if she’s been here all day.

No, we put a shirt on her because she didn’t have anything on…

she was asking for Kaylee but couldn’t remember her number…

okay. We are here… I’ll tell her… no problem, man. ”

“Are they mad?” I ask after a second.

“Not at you. They have no reason to be mad at you,” he says. “That was Zeke. He said they filed a missing persons report this morning. Just him and Brett are coming. He said he loves you” I nod and stare at my hands.

“I remember it,” I say “At the end, he… choked me. I passed out, I guess.”

“I’m sorry he did that,” he says.

“I’m glad I remember,” I say. “None of the other girls remember him raping them… but I do.”

The coach opens the door right as Zeke and Brett race in. They both crush me with a hug, and I fall apart again. “I’m sorry,” I sob. “I was paying attention. I promise I was.”

“No no. Baby, you didn’t do anything wrong, Alice. You have nothing to apologize for, okay?” Zeke says tearfully, cupping my face.

“Everything happened so fast. I was just trying to find Kaylee,” I add.

“She saw him take you. She just didn’t get to you fast enough before he drove off.

Fucking campus police is useless so we went to the city.

We finally got a detective to listen, and we were able to file a report.

” He takes my hands into his and brushes his thumbs over where I have deep indentations in my wrists from where I was bound.

“I’m sorry, Alice. We should have been there,” Brett says.

“I know that you want to protect me from everything, but you can’t. Clearly, the little fucker was determined,” I say with a sigh.

“I called that detective on the way over here. He said that campus police will be the ones to respond but your cases with them so he will take over it when he gets here. He said not to say anything to campus police until he got here.”

As soon as he mentions the campus police, we look up to see a campus officer walk into the room. “What do we have going on here?” he asks.

“You can go,” Zeke says bitterly.

“Son, I don’t think it’s your place to tell me where to go,” he remarks.

“I’ll wait for the police to get here,” I say.

“We got a call about an assault so we…”

“I said that I will wait for the real police. The ones that actually let my boyfriend file the police report. You can wait somewhere else,” I say.

“Here he is,” Brett says. “Detective McCollins.”

“She was considered a missing person within our jurisdiction since she was taken off of campus. You can go. I will let your supervisor know if I need anything from you,” the detective says.

“I’m going to go. Do you need me?” Matt asks.

“Did you find her?” The detective asks Matt.

“Yes, sir,” Matt nods.

“Take this and write out a full statement for me. It’s my understanding that a few other people were with you, so have them do the same.

Just give it to your coach and he can get it to me,” the detective says, looking at the coach for approval.

The coach nods and he hands Matt a few sheets of paper from his briefcase.

“I am going to get the footage from the cameras and see if that will be of any help. I am Gavin Chance,” he says.

Once it’s just the detective, Zeke, and Brett with me, the detective turns his attention to me. “My name is Detective McCollins. Just call me Josh though. Can you tell me what you remember?”

I go through the entire story from the time we got to the party to what I remember about the rape. I give as much detail as I can remember just in case it can help. Josh is taking notes as I am talking and when I get done, he simply knocks on the office door.

“Yes?” The coach Chance says, stepping in.

“Were you able to get any footage?” Josh asks.

“Uhm… Yeah… I don’t know if you’ll want to play it here though,” he says vaguely.

“Why?” I ask.

“The boys didn’t specify that they found you in the main shed, so I didn’t think to mention it before, but I had the school put cameras in there because things were going missing,” he says. “It… caught everything.”

“Everything?” Josh asks. “Faces and all?”

“Yeah… Fisher was facing the camera most of the time. I had to fast-forward through to when the boys walked in for it to record. The cheap-ass system is all backward, but anyway, it’s all on here.

I pulled about thirty minutes before until Matt picked her up and brought her in here.

If you want to watch it, you can use my computer.

The network is secure,” he says as he hands a flash drive to the detective, then leaves.

“Can I see it?” I ask. “I know that’s stupid but… there are so many gaps in my memory.”

“Okay,” he says with a pained smile. He turns to the computer and gets it set up to play. Brett and Zeke are sitting on either side of me holding my hands when Josh hits play. I sigh immediately when I realize it has sound.

I sit with them and watch as Fisher brings me in.

I am completely passed out as he takes my clothes off.

I am limp and lifeless, but you can tell the moment I come to.

I watch him brutally rape me. I feel entirely disconnected from the woman in the video.

I remember some of this, but it doesn't seem like it’s me.

When I eventually pass out from him choking me, he gets up and takes his condom off before wrapping my dress around it.

He looks around before finding a spot in a tote to shove my belongings.

When Fisher leaves me there and walks out of the shed, Josh fast-forwards through the day.

Occasionally I will shift but for the most part, I never move.

“Give me just a second, guys,” Josh says as he stands. He pulls gloves and what looks like an evidence bag from his bag before leaving the room. I lean into Zeke, and he wraps his arms around me.

“I’m so sorry, Alice,” he says.

“I just wanna go home and take a shower,” I say with a sigh.

“We can hang out or just let you be with Kaylee. Whatever you need, we will do, okay?” Brett says and I nod.

“I want you with me,” I admit. “If Kaylee saw him take me, is he in jail?”

“He was, but he got bail immediately,” Zeke sighs.

“Okay,” Josh says as he comes back into the office. “Would you like for me to call for a transport to the hospital?”

“Do I have to go?” I ask.

“No. You can get a rape kit done if you’d like but… what I have is more than enough,” he says. “I’d advise that you at least see your doctor soon though. I’m not a doctor but if you are still actively bleeding, you should be seen. Okay?”

“You don’t have to get the exam, but you should at least let them make sure you are okay,” Zeke says.

“Yeah,” I sigh. “I just don’t want to go in an ambulance.”

“Can we take her?” Brett asks.

“Yeah. I can help you get her to the car without onlookers,” Josh says.

“Is he going to jail?” I ask. “Like no bail this time?”

“He will be charged with first-degree rape, Kidnapping, and attempted murder,” the detective says.

“I’ll call the district attorney when I leave here, and I should have a warrant within the hour.

I’m going to have a female officer follow you all to the hospital and stay with you until I have him in custody. ”

“How long will he be away for?” I ask. “What about when he gets out?”

“Alice… he won’t be getting out. I don’t care who his father is…

I have a video in my hand of him saying he was going to shut you up forever, then strangled you.

He hid your belongings and left you there.

He tried to kill you because you woke up, but he didn’t account for how long it actually takes to kill someone by strangling them,” Josh says.

“Okay,” I say simply. “I just want to go home.”

“Let’s get you checked out and we can get some food and curl up in bed. That sound good?” Zeke asks and I nod. He stands and scoops me up into his arms.

After 7 minutes in Hell, I’m looking forward to my happily ever after with Brett and Zeke.
