Chapter 63 Erik
Chapter sixty-three
Erik
I study the man Remy has brought in. He seems competent. Very.
“If it were not Rasmussen, then who?” I ask. “Rasmussen made sense because James was involved. Otherwise, it only makes sense if the target is the opera house itself.” I pause. “Tianna’s tire was slashed yesterday.”
Coulson absorbs that and turns to the Earls.
“Have either of you experienced vandalism or any unusual incidents?”
They both shake their heads. In unison.
It is unsettling.
I glance at Meg. Her attention is fixed on the Earls, her expression unreadable. I am not the only one disturbed by the synchronicity.
“Bring her phone,” I say to Meg.
Movement brushes my leg. I look down to find the dogs have settled in. Raindrop is inching toward his mistress, determined. Dewdrop remains pressed against my side, content.
That tracks. He knows who rescued him.
Meg hands the phone to Coulson. “The password is two six four three five,” she says softly.
I run through the permutations. Understanding settles in.
Angel.
