Chapter 115
Chapter one hundred fifteen
Remy
I’m going over the final list Meg sent me for the dinner.
We’re expecting over two hundred people.
Erik strides over to my desk.
“Tianna is not answering my texts.”
I don’t look up. “Text Ruiz. There was drama with the Earls, and she and Meg have their phones on silent.”
“What are you doing?”
“Double-checking the list, making sure I didn’t miss anyone. Also mapping out the tours.”
I’m surprised enough to glance up when Erik takes a seat across from me.
“I did have Meg contact the people who were emailing me. Are they included?”
“They are. We’ve already sold twenty-five grand boxes and all of the loges.”
“Box five is mine. Do not forget,” he says quickly.
I just eye him over the rim of my glasses. When he catches my stare, he adjusts the sleeves on his shirt.
“Fine. You saved it. It has the best view and privacy.”
I raise my brows. He is discomfited. I lean back and clasp my hands over my stomach, waiting.
“Is it safe for her to be out of communication with us? Maybe we should go to her.” He is still fussing with his clothing, smoothing out imaginary wrinkles.
“You miss her,” I state simply, taking my readers off and tossing them onto the desk.
His head rears back. His eyes narrow as he considers my statement.
“I don’t like this feeling. It makes me feel on edge,” he tells me.
“I think the problem is, it makes you feel. Want to talk about it?”
“Do you think she is missing us too?” His voice is the most hesitant I have ever heard.
“Yeah, she does. I’m not sure if you realize how much trust she placed in us last night. For her trust is love,” I tell him.
“I can not stop thinking about her. I can not work,” he admits, his voice almost forlorn.
“Why don’t you call Ruiz and ask to talk to her?” I offer.
My phone buzzes, and I glance down.
Ruiz: Dresses obtained.
When I tell him, Erik pulls out his phone and makes a call.
“I want it in two hours,” he states.
The voice on the other end is feminine and gushing.
“Good,” he says, then disconnects.
He sends a quick text.
“Are you going to call her?” I ask.
“No. I made arrangements for Ruiz to take them to a spa. Massages and whatnot.”
He must read my surprise.
“You are right. Tianna loves us. We need to be worthy of it. She gave me everything. The least I can do is make sure she isn’t sore or ill-rested.”
I bite my tongue and just say, “Good idea.”
He nods and strides out of the office.
Shaking my head, I go back to the numbers and budgeting.
