Chapter 40
CHAPTER FORTY
Iris
My tits are out, men keep staring, and some horrific things are happening at this resort. I’m trying my best to ignore the worst of it, but damn, this is harder than anything Dee and I’ve handled before.
Passing Sola in the hall, with towels draped over my forearms, I paste on a too-friendly smile as we nod hello, and our eyes meet for a moment.
She flicks her attention to a nearby door and heads that way.
I deliver the towels to an older, pitted-faced man on a lounger who decides touching my breasts is an acceptable tip.
He squeezes far too hard and licks his lips as I keep a wooden smile firmly in place to avoid drawing attention.
Thankfully, it doesn’t take long for him to grow tired of me not showing any emotion or giving him any sign that I’d like him to take it further.
He lets go of my breast, and when I turn to leave, he gives my ass a solid tap.
With a whole vat of disgust boiling in my gut, I walk away and enter the door I assume Sola went through.
Inside, it’s dark with the curtains drawn. It’s clearly an unused bedroom, and there’s puking coming from the attached bathroom, where I find Sola holding Kali’s hair back as she purges in the toilet.
“Everything okay?” I ask, leaning against the doorjamb to keep a lookout, just in case someone comes in.
With her head in the bowl, Kali gives me a weak thumbs-up.
Sola shakes her head.
Yeah. I didn’t think so.
“So, what’s the plan?” I whisper.
Sola lifts a wad of Kali’s hair and motions for me to come take it. We swap positions. Our poor friend dry heaves into the porcelain throne. Hating this for her, I rub the small of her back, hoping it helps.
Sola turns around, giving me her back, lets out a small sound, then turns back around and sets a wet plastic bag on the countertop.
“Sola?”
“Don’t ask.” The redhead peeks at me over her shoulder, holding a small black device. She turns it on and presses a small button on the side. “You there?” she whispers.
When nothing happens, she tries again. This time, Rot’s voice floods the bathroom. “Red?”
“Here.”
He sighs in relief. “Thank fuck.”
“Update?” Sola asks her man.
“We’re all here.”
“And?”
“It’s not lookin’ good.”
Fuck.
The toilet flushes.
Plopping her butt on the tile, Kali’s head hangs as she wipes her mouth with a damp rag Sola must have given her. “What’s that even mean?” she rasps, skin sickly pale, hands shaky.
Sola slides to the floor, and all of us end up there together, in a small kumbaya circle with our breasts out, in the middle of a nowhere resort, with what sounds like no plan.
Rot rattles off a whole lot of nothing that does us no good. So, they have no real plan. Not enough backup or firepower. Gotcha. Message received. We’re on our own.
Frowning at the little device, Sola shakes her head, curses, then shuts it off. “They’re useless. It’s time for Plan B.”
Crossing my arms, I nod.
Sure, we set this up just in case. It’s not what we wanted to do, and it could backfire, but you can’t face the unknown hoping someone will save you. You need a way to save yourself.
Getting onto her knees, Kali pulls something out from under her skirt. It’s a baggy similar to Sola’s.
“Did you both shove stuff up your vagina?” I ask in horror.
“Yes. Didn’t you?”
Shaking my head at their crazy girl-pocket ingenuity, I tug off my white tennis shoes, remove the false toes, and pull out what I was responsible for bringing.
They exchange a look of surprise.
We set everything in the middle of the tiled floor.
Poison. Lots of poison. All of it laced with a little extra somethin’ somethin’. Small, easy-to-use vials.
“We’re drug mules,” I joke.
Kali cracks a tired smile, and Sola joins in. Then it’s the three of us quietly cracking up on the bathroom floor, which is so much better than having a meltdown, or worse, dying because we didn’t have the foresight to plan ahead.
“We’re fucked.” Sola cackles.
“The most fucked,” I agree, trying to keep my voice down.
“We need to castrate our men after this.”
“I love that idea.” I snort, smiling so hard my face hurts. “What next?”
“How many men did you count?” Kali asks us.
“Thirty-two, including the guards inside. I don’t know how many are outside,” I answer, recounting the different faces I tracked.
“Damn. I only had twenty-nine,” Sola adds.
“Well, I had twenty-five,” Kali finishes.
“Sooo,” I drawl. “There are somewhere between twenty-five and thirty-two men inside to deal with. We need knives from the kitchen and whatever we can find in the maid’s closet. We need you to get your stomach under control.” I nod to Kali. “So we can get that bartender good and gone.”
“Too bad we can’t kill her,” Sola says.
Kali gasps in outrage. “Sola.”
Our redhead shrugs, not at all put off by it. “What? She’s obviously a full-time employee here. She’s complicit in the actions of these men. Not all women are good, Kali.”
That’s true. They’re not.
“Do you want to kill her?” Kali asks.
“If it comes to that,” Sola replies, and as much as I wish I didn’t agree with her, I do.
Wanting us to get back on track so we can get home safely and the kids out of this pedophile ring, we talk through our plan in detail. Who does what, where, and when we start.
Once that’s settled, we get up, leave Kali to freshen up, collect what we need to run Plan B, and go our separate ways, one at a time, to avoid suspicion.
The woman in charge of the resort approaches me as I push my cart to the maid’s closet, which is more of a room than a closet.
She’s the only woman in the place wearing a suit.
It’s white, and she’s obviously not wearing a bra underneath, as you can see her dark nipples through the thin cotton.
Ms. Robinson. Yes, that’s her name. She’s a plastic, gruff-voiced bitch who has to be at least in her forties.
We do not like her.
She is welcome to die tonight.
And she will, if I have any say in the matter.
Especially when she grabs me by my arm, pulls me into an alcove, and gets right in my face with her wine-scented breath.
“Mr. Reece told me what you did,” she hisses.
I have no idea who this Mr. Reece is, nor do I give a shit if I made him mad.
Not wanting to raise her hackles or put her on alert, I shrink into soft, prey mode, which puts assholes in emotional check. I drop my chin to my chest, clasp my hands in front of me, and curl my shoulders forward, sufficiently reprimanded.
“I’m sorry,” I mutter, staring at her white heels.
Ms. Robinson sighs as if I’m annoying her, hooks a finger under my chin, and makes me meet her gaze. My eyes give her a jolt.
“Wow. You’re stunning.” She caresses the side of my face, and it takes everything within me not to show my disgust. “Please visit Mr. Reece by the pool and offer your apologies for leaving him so abruptly.”
I nod, shallow and meek.
Ms. Robinson’s nostrils flare as she trails her hand along my face, down my arm, across my breast, down to the hem of my skirt, where she reaches between my legs and cups me. “Come to my room after dinner,” she purrs, and I hold my breath.
Keeping my face soft, I offer her the sweetest, most innocent grin I can manage. “Yes, ma’am,” I whisper, dipping my head in obedience even though I’d rather pluck her eyeballs out and make her choke on them.
Thankfully, my boss is satisfied with my reply and lets me finish my duties.
Walking fast into the maid’s closet, I quietly shut the door, turn around, press my back to it, and slide down until I’m sitting on the floor, where I try to catch my breath and get my shit back in order.
I’ve had plenty of people grab me there without permission.
I’ve been flirted with and dominated. But it never gets any easier when all you want to do is sick your sister on them.
Fuck.
I miss Dee.
She’s just the person I need in situations like this.
My backup.
A feral woman willing to kill anyone and anything to protect what matters most.
Once I’ve gotten my bearings back, I whisper to those listening, “You assholes owe us.”
I mean it.
They owe us big time. I expect more than the house Dark bought me after this.
Their club president should be kicked in the dick for doing such a piss-poor job setting up this mission.
Not that it’s all his fault, but he pulled the trigger and set everything in motion.
If I had time to think about it long enough to be angry, I’d stew for a long while.
Unfortunately, I have a gross man to visit and apologize to for not giving him the time of day.
Then tonight, it’s on.
Wish us luck.
We’re gonna need it.
