Chapter Thirty-Eight #3

I bite my bottom lip as the corners of my mouth tug up in a shit-eating grin. It’s so easy to tempt him. Rage baiting him is my favorite hobby now.

I peer through my lashes at him, the picture of complete innocence. “I don't know what you're talking about.”

“Mhmm,” he hums against my throat. “Let’s see how confident you are once we’re alone.”

My thighs squeeze together at the threat. The possibilities with him are endless, and I can't deny that he’s awoken something new in me. Most of what we’ve done together is uncharted territory for me. And I want more.

He releases me with the promise of what’s to come tonight, and I know that by morning, I'm going to be thoroughly fucked and rocking the messy, tousled look that's to come with it.

I feel like I'm practically floating as Rowan brushes his fingers through my hair.

He massages into my scalp, making my head lull as serenity washes over me.

The steam is doing wonders for my tight muscles, and so is the hulking man behind me who can't seem to stop touching me.

I love it.

Once we’ve had our fill of the sauna, we shower off in the connected suite before dressing and heading back out to the main hall. Rowan stops at the desk outside the spa doors, and I wait as he asks the receptionist for something.

When he holds up a bottle of champagne with a smirk, I know tonight is about to be the best fucking honeymoon ever. We’re like two teenagers, racing back to our room so we can pop it open and let the real fun begin.

As he pushes our door open, I hold up a finger. “Wait! We need ice!”

“I can get it,” he frowns.

I roll my eyes before pushing him over the threshold. “Now isn't the time for your caveman tendencies.”

He scoffs. “Caveman tendencies?”

I put my hands on my hips before deepening my voice in a mocking mimic of his own. “Care for wife. Get ice for wife.”

He deadpans at me. “I don't sound like that.”

“Yes, you do,” I wave him off. “Go get the champagne ready.”

“Yes, ma’am.” He grins in that devilish way that has my legs turning to jelly.

I leave him to it as I walk barefoot down the hall to find the ice machine. I’m humming to myself lightly, searching for the little room I spotted earlier, when hushed voices reach my ears.

My brows knit as I peek around a corner that leads into another hallway, and I slap a hand over my mouth as my eyes widen at the scandalous scene I've intruded on.

Theo and Dom are sandwiching the lady from the bar between them—Theo standing in front of her while Dom takes up her back.

There are hands…everywhere. The blonde assassin is basically grinding against her while Dom holds her steady.

The quieter assassin is cupping her breasts from behind, a smoldering look in his eyes as he stares down at her.

Theo palms her sides, sliding his tongue along her neck as she moans and writhes between them.

One of her arms is flung around Theo’s shoulder, while her other hand tangles in Dom’s hair behind her.

This is far hotter and heavier than anything my inexperienced eyes should be witnessing, but I can't look away from them.

Okay. I'm a fucking creep, but can you blame a girl? I’m curious as to how—that—works.

Theo slicks his tongue into her mouth, stealing her breath in a kiss. Her face and chest are flushed, and when her eyes open, they’re glossy and far away. She looks like she's having a time, alright…

Theo pulls away before smirking at his companion over the panting woman’s head. He grabs Dom’s cheeks before leaning in. “Do you want a taste too, Bug?”

My mouth falls open in shock as he kisses Dominic with wild passion, squeezing the woman between them in their lust. She’s on fucking cloud nine when she notices them.

Theo pulls away before nipping at Dom’s swollen bottom lip. “She tastes so fucking good, doesn't she?”

“She does,” Dom growls before slapping the key card onto the door next to him. It opens, and they drag the poor woman into their lair.

I’m left stunned as I blink. My ice is long forgotten about as I turn on my heels and bolt straight for my room. When I return, Rowan is buck ass naked on the bed with a fucking rose stem between his lips as he waits for me. Normally, I would laugh at this if I didn't have major gossip to spill.

“Where’s the ice?” He frowns as he drops the flower onto the bed.

I cross my arms over my chest before throwing a thumb at the door. “Um, are Theo and Dom, like, together?”

His head rears slightly as he blinks. “I don't think so? Why do you ask?”

A startled laugh leaves me. “I can't believe I get to be the person to tell you this, but I just saw them, very passionately, making out in the hallway while they,” I make a smooshing motion with my hands, “did this to that poor lady from the bar.”

His brow furrows. “Huh… It makes more sense now.”

“What makes more sense?!” I clamber onto the bed, shoving him aside as I get comfortable. I prop my chin in my hand as I smile. “Tell me all of the juicy details.”

Rowan places a hand on my side, trailing it over my skin as he shrugs. “They’ve always been super close. There was a point when we wondered whether they were together, but neither would say. It’s not like we would have cared. They're our brothers, and everyone is welcome in the syndicate.”

“Very progressive of you, Assassin Man.” I chuckle.

His lips twitch. “Something made them split up, and no one really brought it up. Dominic is hard to get anything out of. He isn't one to just openly talk about his feelings.”

“What caused them to split?” I wonder.

Rowan frowns as his hand stills on my hip. “A woman…”

Now we’re getting somewhere.

“Do you know who she is?” I ask, hoping to get a little more information from my husband.

“No, but sometimes I wonder…” He shakes his head, and I wilt.

“Oh, come!” I jostle his shoulder. “You can't lead up to that and not give me anything!”

He gives me a withering expression. “It’s all gossip. I don't even know if my theory is true.”

“You have a theory?” Excitement radiates from me.

He sighs in resignation. “Yeah, I have one.”

“Spill.”

“None of this is proven,” He says pointedly. “But there’s another assassin from the Southern branch. She’s actually the leader out there now. Her name is Bailey, and they all met years ago while out on a hit. They kept bumping into each other, and I think they may have developed feelings for her.”

Oh, this is good.

“So, why don't they just go and scoop her up? Rowan-style.” I smirk.

He laughs. “Well, she’s engaged—”

“Oh, fuck me…”

“Yeah,” he nods. “There is no scooping her up. She’s planning to get hitched to her long-time fiancé within the next year.”

I don't know Theo and Dom too well, but there’s a creeping suspicion that begins to formulate in the back of my head. Theo seems unhinged as it is. Dom is more of a silent fuse—sizzling quietly until things get to a head. “Do you think they’ll interfere with the wedding?”

Rowan pinches the bridge of his nose as he closes his eyes. “Fuck, if you’re thinking it too, this isn't good.”

Premeditated stressing.

This man needs some head.

I place a hand on his shoulder before rolling him onto his back and slinging my leg over his hips. “That’s a problem for another day. Let me get your mind off of it…”

He grabs my hips tightly before grinding me down onto his cock. “I’m going to need a lot of distractions, Sunshine.”

I grin before pressing my lips to his in a slow, sensual kiss. “Good thing I know just what you need.”

“You,” he breathes against my mouth, desperate and wanton. “Always you.”

“Forever,” I return with just as much fervor.
