Liam, six months later...
Iopen my eyes with more effort than I should, feeling completely disoriented. My head is heavy, and my stomach is turning upside down. I struggle to figure out where I am. My eyes fall next to me on two men I know all too well—both tied up, just like I am.
“What the hell?!” Mike’s voice is thick as he comes out of his drug-induced haze. He struggles against the ropes, but as soon as he notices Nate is still completely out of it, he abandons his effort to get free.
“Nate, are you okay?” he calls out, shoving his body against Nate’s in a failed attempt to wake him up.
He turns to me. “Liam, what the fuck happened?”
“She fucking drugged us,” I tell him. I recall the last thing I saw before face-planting onto that table back at the bar where we were drinking.
“Who did?” He asks, and I chuckle. Who do you think, Mike?
“Jessica did.” I saw her talking to the waitress before she brought our drinks. I would have said something, but I convinced myself it was just my imagination.
Nate finally comes out of his slumber, groaning and struggling against the ropes around his wrists and ankles. “Let me guess. Jessica found us,” he mutters.
Now I'm laughing like a maniac. This woman managed to take all three of us out, somehow convinced someone to help her carry us into what seems like a van, and is now hauling us somewhere. Who knows where.
“That woman is crazy!” Mike mumbles. Pure irony coming from him, really, but it couldn't be truer. The vehicle stops suddenly, throwing us all against the side door. Mike is more pissed than ever now, and I hear footsteps surrounding the van.
“I guess we'll know what she wants soon enough,” Nate comments, way too calm for the situation. It’s truly disturbing.
The door slides open, and a gun is pointed directly at us. She approaches with a knife, cutting the ropes around our hands and legs before pulling each of us out, forcing us to stand. I look around, realizing we’re in a familiar maze. She brought us back to her town. This is bad.
Still holding the gun, she points toward the entrance of the maze and announces the rules we all know too well. “If you reach the scarecrow, you’re safe. If the sun comes up first, you may try another night.”
Her voice reeks of authority. I watch her carefully as she keeps the barrel trained on us.
She’s dressed in all black, and her hair is shorter now—the curls give her an innocent look that contrasts wildly with her rage-filled eyes and edgy clothes.
The woman I once fell for, with her bubbly personality, warm smile, sundresses, long curls, and piercing blue eyes, is long gone.
This woman in front of me is pissed, and we only have ourselves to blame for it.
“Game on, boys,” she taunts, kicking Mike to the ground. “Now run!”
A knowing look passes between the three of us, and we break off, running in different directions. I can tell Jessica is following me when her taunts start targeting me personally.
“Come on, Liam, you’re not really running now, are you?” she taunts.
I stop, hiding behind a stack of hay. This is going terribly wrong. I catch the shadow of who I believe is Mike, running down the path that we both know leads directly to the scarecrow.
We all know this maze like the back of our hands, but so does Jessica.
If I learned anything about this woman while I was stalking her, it’s how unpredictable she is.
From fucking me in the back of the diner she used to work at, to being fucked by all three of us in this exact maze after running for her life...
I don’t think anything frightens her anymore.
A gunshot echoes through the air, and Jessica’s voice cuts through the dark from the other side of the maze.
“Mike, don’t be naive! You’re not getting to the scarecrow!
” Her laugh sounds twisted and evil. I can’t tell if I’m getting hard because of it, or if being hunted for my life just does something to me.
“Liam?” I hear a whisper behind me. I turn to see both Mike and Nate crouching next to a nearby stack of hay. I crawl over to them.
“What the hell is wrong with her?” Mike asks.
“Funny coming from you!” Nate spits back before I can even answer. “Besides, we’re all psychopaths. Right now, her mental state isn’t our biggest concern.”
“Fair,” I acknowledge, knowing he has a point. Every single one of us has done questionable things.
“You fucking left me!” Jessica’s voice calls out from the opposite side.
“For a valid reason, it seems,” Mike comments under his breath. Nate and I both burst into quiet laughter, trying to keep it down.
“Can you be serious for a fucking moment?” Nate scolds him.
“We need to figure out a plan,” I state.
“She’s clearly not going to let us reach the scarecrow.
Even if we do, I doubt she’ll let us go,” Nate adds.
He’s right; she’ll never let us leave. We wouldn’t have let any woman live who reached it either.
Some managed to get close. A few even reached the scarecrow.
We always killed them at the end anyway.
“So what? Are we going to keep running in the hope that she stops being mad?” Mike asks. I’ll give it to him—my brother keeps a sense of humor even while being hunted by a crazy woman with a gun. “Am I the only one getting hard from this?” He asks again.
“Mike, stop thinking with your dick!” Nate snaps.
“Shut up! This isn’t the time to get horny,” I manage to say, a little too embarrassed to admit that I am, too.
Another gunshot echoes through the night, and I watch Mike pat himself down to check if he was hit. Nate smacks him across the back of the head.
“You weren’t shot. Stop it!” He tells him.
“We could beat her at her own game,” I finally say. Both of them turn to look at me.
“You mean our game? We fucking invented it!” Mike argues.
“She beat the chase by fucking all three of us that night,” I explain, ignoring my brother.
“Let’s repay the favor,” Nate agrees.
“Make her chase us, taunt her until she’s a horny mess?” Mike catches on.
“Exactly!” Nate winks at him.
We split up again. I approach Jessica from behind, staying low behind the haystacks. I spot Nate in one corner and Mike on the opposite side.
“Darling, are you sure you want to catch us?” Nate calls out from one side, followed immediately by Mike’s voice. “We all know you don’t have the guts to hurt us.”
“If you wanted another good fuck, you could have just asked, sweetheart,” I add from my side of the maze, and we all start moving.
“Yes, angel. We’d be happy to give you some dick. You didn’t need to do all this,” Mike taunts.
I can see Jessica growing confused, getting worked up as the tables turn and we become the ones hunting her.
“Be a good girl and stop pretending you’re not getting wet for us,” Nate’s voice echoes from farther away. I watch her pause to catch her breath. I nod to Mike, and we both run in opposite directions. She spins in place, trying to pinpoint where the noise is coming from.
“Did you miss being on your knees for me?” Mike asks her, and I chime in.
“While I fuck that pussy, making you moan and gasp around it?”
We’re getting to her. This is working.
“You know I’m the one with the gun this time, right?” she asks, but her voice reeks of desperation.
“How do you know we don’t have hidden ones in the maze?
” Nate asks from somewhere behind me. We don’t, of course.
But then a realization hits me. I remember watching Mike throw his knife onto the ground when we chased Mary, right after I stopped the game.
We never picked it up. We left it right there—one of many mistakes we made in this town. But now, it might work in our favor.
I turn to Nate, who is now standing directly behind me, and whisper, “The maze is abandoned. What are the chances Mike’s knife is still here from the night we hunted Mary?”
He thinks for a second. “I’m pretty sure I saw something that looked like a knife right when we started running.”
That could work. “Mike! Remember the time we chased Mary?” I yell to my brother.
I hear him shout back, “Oh, fuck yeah! Time to play, angel!” He taunts her, his sinister laugh echoing through the maze as he takes off.
I hear his fast footsteps approaching the entrance of the maze. Nate and I separate again, circling Jess. We need to confuse her long enough for him to retrieve the blade. We only need one.
“So, what do you think, sweetheart?” I start. “Should we chase you instead? Remember the old days?”
She doesn’t respond. I see her stop, mumbling something to herself, but I’m too far away to hear it.
“I got it! Game on, slut!” Mike yells from his side, and I smile to myself. You’re fucked now, Jess.
“Darling, you can stop this before it’s too late,” Nate warns her.
I laugh silently because this woman is pure chaos; she won’t give up that easily.
I’m pretty sure she doesn’t know we found the knife, or that it even existed.
She’s smart—I’m sure she checked the maze before we arrived—but if she had seen the knife, she would have taken it.
We close in from every side. She points her gun at me while frantically searching for Mike with her eyes. “Stay back!” she warns, but Mike’s inked hand wraps around her stomach, his other hand pressing the knife firmly against her throat.
“Boo, bitch,” he whispers, his voice dropping into that dark tone I’ve missed. He’s back.
“Let me go!” she yells, twisting her body against his grip to break free. I close the distance between us, feeling Nate right behind me.
“Give me that,” I say, taking the gun from her hands and tossing it to Nate.
“Who has the power now, little girl?” Nate’s voice sounds furious. He hates losing control of a situation. We all do, but he handles it the worst. Mike hands me the knife and wraps his free arm around her neck.
“Hold still!” I order, but she keeps fighting against him. He tightens his grip, choking her just enough to make her stop. I cut through her crop top first, and her breasts spill out.
“No bra!” I announce.
“I knew you just wanted to get fucked, baby girl!” Nate provokes her.
Her skirt is next. As I slice it off her body, I reveal the lace thong underneath. I run my fingers over the fabric. “Boys, she’s so wet for us,” I tell them. “Jess, you’re soaked for us, aren’t you?”
I push the lace aside and slide two fingers inside her. She moans, her body reacting instantly.
“So fucking tight,” I mutter to myself, getting harder by the second. “Did you miss us, Jess?” I ask, pulling my fingers back out. “Put her on her knees,” I order Mike.
He does as he’s told. I free my cock from my jeans and grab a handful of her hair, pulling her face toward me. She parts her lips, and I thrust straight into her mouth.
“Fuck, Jess,” I moan.
Both guys are unzipping their pants now.
Nate pulls her off my cock—lips still parted—and shoves himself into her mouth next.
He’s brutal, forcing her to choke around his length with every thrust. Mike kneels beside her, working his fingers into her pussy while she practically rides his hand in a desperate attempt to come.
“Don’t let her come!” I command. “Bad girls don’t get rewarded!”
She tries to pull away, but Nate picks up his pace, fucking her mouth harder. “Put her on all fours!” I order Mike.
He sets her up instantly. I take Nate’s spot, and he steps up behind her, driving inside her with a hard thrust. Mike slides underneath her, eating her out while Nate takes her from behind.
“Fuck, you feel so good, Jess!” Nate growls, and her moans send a shock straight through me.
“She’s about to come, guys,” Mike announces.
“Let her!” I say. Her eyes squeeze shut as she reaches her orgasm, terrified I’ll rob her of it again. I’m right on the edge myself and pick up the pace.
“I’m close too,” Nate growls, his body tensing up as he fills her up. My own release follows right behind, shooting down her throat while she swallows every drop around my dick.
“Good girl,” Mike praises her softly, right before Nate strikes her with the butt of the gun, knocking her out cold.
He scoops her up to carry her back to the van. I search through the torn remains of her skirt for keys, but come up empty.
“Boys, the keys aren’t here.” I scan the ground to see if she dropped them.
“I saw them in the ignition!” Mike calls back as he follows Nate. I gather her ripped clothes and follow them.
“Where are we taking her?” I ask. I’m not leaving her behind again.
“Home,” Nate responds.
“You’re telling me we’re going to drive with a naked woman in the back of a stolen van?”
He huffs. “You got a better idea?”
“We’ll stop at her house. I’m sure she still lives there.” Even if she doesn’t, she might have some clothes left behind. “We’ll grab some clothes for her, then head home.”
We should never have left her. We all thought we would ruin her if we stayed, but she’s just as crazy as the rest of us. None of this is our fault. She was broken long before we ever came into her life—Mike told me the story she shared with him one night. We should never have left her behind.
