Chapter 22 #2

Stone pats his dad on the back then moves over to the vans. I start to follow but a hand catches my elbow halting my progress.

“Watch your back, Havoc,” Crusher tells me, giving my arm a squeeze. “You bring that woman home in one piece, you hear me? We can’t have any more sad news right now. Get us this win and bring her back to us.”

“Plan on it,” I swear with everything in me. “The kid said she’s very pregnant. Don’t know the full condition, but I’ll make sure they make it outta there.”

“I’ll update Mel so she’ll have things ready to go,” Crushers says. “You kill those fuckers for touching our family.”

I know he’s not just talking about Sutton and the baby, but Rocky too.

“They’ll all pay for Rocky’s blood,” I vow.

Crusher nods then heads over to James by the truck, and I make my way over to the van.

Once I get in and slide the door shut, I take a cool calming breath, settling my mind to focus on the task at hand. The van rolls forward and starts picking up speed. Stone is talking and communicating orders to shift everyone to the northeast side of the property where Raegan saw the tent.

“Once we breach past the main house, our cover will be blown so stay alert. Watch for kids even though we were told they are kept on the west side of the farm,” we hear Stone through our ear pieces.

“Stay with your group, and let’s eliminate these bastards.

Keep Juan José alive if you can. We’ve got a lot of things to discuss before we terminate his bloodline completely. ”

Our three vans head up the dirt and rock drive to the farm, not slowing down.

There are a few women out putting sheets on a line.

One of the vans stops and five brothers hop out.

Our plan is to zip tie the women until the farm has been cleared.

Stone and the other presidents will determine what to do with them once we’ve neutralized all the men and loyal followers here.

There’s also a group of men from the Montana Chapter that are raiding the church as we speak.

We want to be able to keep any of them from phoning any of the other locations or giving our surprise up to soon.

After the five are out and on the move, the van takes off again to catch up with us heading towards the back of the property.

“Almost there,” Stone calls out. It feels like an hour has gone by when I know it’s only been minutes. Stone is leaning over the front seat telling our driver to head more east through the field.

We’ve passed several outhouse-looking buildings.

Once we’ve got this place locked down, the brothers are going to open each and every bunker on this property.

Now that we know the Colombian Cartel is involved, my guess is that drugs are stored in these shelters.

Good old Shepherd Walter the pastor of the local church is in bed with a notorious international drug lord.

He’s been using the church to mule drugs for profit throughout the United States.

Of course, we do the same, but at least we come by it honestly and people expect that of us.

But to use God and the hearts of vulnerable folks to push an agenda for money and power is an entire other level of evil.

The van comes to a halt, and I’m brought out of my thoughts. We are in a secluded area hidden by a forest of trees.

“We walk it from here,” Stone says. “Everyone is almost there.”

The door opens and we slide out. We can see the tent about fifty yards away. There are trees everywhere giving us good coverage.

“Watch those men in black suits,” a female voice comes over the earpiece, and I realize that it’s Raegan. “They’re cartel men.”

Once all the vans have emptied, Stone breaks us up into three groups. Two coming in from different sides and the last group, which is only a handful of men, stay back with the van and come in after as a last resort or surprise attack.

Everyone is walking calmly around the tent so we haven’t been made yet.

“Grab the extra vest for Sutton and let’s go,” Stone says to our group as we start our hike through the wooded trees. Reaper secures her bulletproof vest to the back of mine so that when we find her, I can get her covered until we can get to safety.

We got most of our men from Sweetwater with us in the vans. Hawk is staying back at the van to watch the drone and keep the lines clear to hear if something happens from the other parts of the property.

The closer we get, the more we can hear what’s going on under the tent. I watch as Sanchez steps forward in Sutton’s personal space, who’s trembling.

“Try not to kill Sanchez unless necessary,” Stone whispers as he witnesses the same scene in front of us. “You ready?”

Before I can answer, gunshots ring out north of us making everyone hunch down in the tent.

“Fuck! Hold your spots,” Stone growls to us as I make a step out of the trees and towards the tent. As the seconds tick by, more and more shots are fired off in the distance. We hold our position watching to see what Sanchez and his men do or which way they go.

His men circle around Sutton and their leader as the men in the cult all pull guns out.

Some go straight to Walter forming a shield around him.

Sanchez’s men are all shouting in Spanish.

I wish now that I’d paid attention in class during high school.

The women all shuffle to one side of the shaded area.

The shooting isn’t near us yet as everyone starts to move about the tent.

“We’re being attacked!” Walter shouts, reading something from his phone. “CODE RED!”

The men start to move and scatter. Walter approaches Sanchez and they speak briefly. The cartel leader motions to his men, and they form a strategic line towards the back of the tent and property.

“They’re gonna head for the jet,” I say aloud and turn to Prez. “I can’t. Once they get her on the plane, we’ll never see her or my baby again.”

Stone’s eyes widen when I take off in the direction of Sanchez and my woman.

“FUCK!” I hear being said behind me from Stone. “TAKE ’EM DOWN! AMBUSH NOW!”

I start shooting immediately when I clear the trees.

White button up shirt assholes are dropping like flies in my path.

The cult members are scrambling to get to the vehicles.

The amount of women running around are blocking me from seeing where Sutton was rushed off to.

The moment I step foot under the tent, our second group comes in, and we’ve got the place surrounded.

Bodies of their men are down on the ground.

These guys didn’t stand a chance against all of us.

Not only do we have the numbers on our side, but we’ve been in a lot of situations like these and know how to handle ourselves.

These boys are like cub scouts compared to us.

“Get on your knees!” Stone orders the women looking scared and lost. “Zip tie them until we clear this area.”

“Where’s Sutton?” Reaper comes in switching out his ammo clip.

Bullet, the prez from our Arizona Chapter, comes rushing into the tent with his men at his back.

“Did you see them?” Stone asks.

Bullet shakes his head. “Left a handful of men by the jet and made our way here. Didn’t see a single cartel man.”

“Where’d they go? They had to run into you on the way,” I say. “There’s dozens of them. That makes no sense.”

“We made sure to cover the area,” Bullet assures us. “Not a soul came through, that’s why we came this way. Swear it, Stone.”

Stone nods but looks just as confused.

“Underground…” we hear said from behind us and all turn to the voice.

“Who said that?” Reaper asks cocking his gun.

All the women look down except for one. She’s looking right at us, biting her bottom lip.

“What’d you say?” I ask.

“I said underground—”

“Shut your mouth, Sister Judy,” the chubby woman next to her spews then elbows her in the ribs. Judy winces but holds firm eye contact.

Judy… Judy…

“You’re the one who helped Sutton before, right?” I say and help her up from her knees. I pull her away from the group of women and over to where my brothers are.

“I did, but it wasn’t enough,” she sounds so defeated and heartbroken.

“What did you mean by underground?” Stone asks.

“They have bunkers everywhere here.” She uses her shoulder as to point around the area. “Some have tunnels that lead—”

“You will be punished for this, Judy!” the same lady as earlier interrupts her screaming.

Brass walks over and shoves the barrel of his gun in the woman’s mouth. “Say one more word, Darlin’, and you’ll get to meet your maker.”

“Where do they lead?” Bullet speaks up.

“To all of the other bunkers within the property,” she answers.

“Fuck!” Reaper mumbles. “So they could be anywhere by now? North, south? We don’t have the numbers to cover all the outhouses.”

Stone taps his earpiece as his eyes look off as if he’s listening to something, Bullet does the same. The sound of gunfire rings out in the distance.

“My men are under attack by the jet,” Bullet announces then takes off.

“Get all available brothers to the north field where the aircraft is located!” Stone orders to the men listening over the radios.

We all follow, sprinting to the north field. My legs are burning as I tear up the ground to get to Sutton before she’s taken from me again.

The moment we come up over the slight incline of a hill, we can see past the trees and plane.

Our brothers are taking heat as the cartel is progressing towards the clearing.

Once we get to the trees, the fight has died down to a few shots here and there.

We’re crouching down as a line of men in black suits maneuver a fortifying wall to block Sanchez, Sutton, and Walter as they start to approach the aircraft.

Tall brush and stumps cover most of them from the waist down.
