Chapter 14

EVELYN

Warmth pressed against my back as sleep slowly drifted away.

The air was chilly, so I wiggled back into the warmth, unwilling to leave the soft cocoon of sleep yet.

The warmth groaned, and my eyes flew open.

I relaxed when I recognized the soft blues and greens of Adrian’s room.

That was right. We had dinner at Melissa’s last night, and then I fell asleep on the car ride home. I must have ended up in Adrian’s bed.

His arm tightened around my waist. “Go back to sleep,” he murmured, his voice rough with sleep. The low, raspy noise had my thighs clenching. “It’s too early.”

“Okay,” I whispered.

I closed my eyes and tried to fall back to sleep.

I focused on breathing deeply, enjoying my cuddles in Adrian’s arms. Although I was comfortable, sleep eluded me.

The room was still dark, which meant it was too early to get up, but try as I might, I couldn’t fall back asleep.

It was like once my brain was awake, I couldn’t fall back asleep.

It was a side effect of my double life. Even after a couple of months of getting more than four hours of sleep per night, my body still wasn’t used to it.

I shifted in Adrian’s arms, turning so I could face him. I buried my face in his chest, inhaling his pine scent.

“You’re not falling back to sleep, are you?” Adrian’s sleep-drenched voice rumbled through his chest.

I shook my head. “No, sorry,” I confessed. “But you can go back to sleep.”

He ran his hand down my spine and over my ass to the back of my knee, hitching my leg over his hip and rocking us together. “Or…” he rasped. “We could take advantage of this alone time.”

My core clenched. He rocked into me, and a breathless moan escaped my lips.

“Yes, please,” I murmured, suddenly aching for him.

He rolled me onto my back, his forearms next to my head, and leaned down to kiss me.

If I had morning breath, he didn’t seem to mind.

Our lips crashed together, and any concerns I might have had disappeared just as quickly as they surfaced.

His mouth ventured down my neck, then his head dipped even further, kissing the tops of my breasts.

His tongue darted out and lapped at my nipple before he lightly blew on it.

“I could get used to waking up like this,” I moaned.

“So beautiful.”

A tingle ran from my breasts straight to my core as he sucked my tight bud into his mouth. I wrapped my legs around his waist and pressed my center into his hard cock.

Adrian pulled away. “Come here. I want to taste you.”

He rolled onto his back, pulling me with him. I caught his lips quickly as he pulled my body over his and pointed to his lips.

“Here, Evelyn.”

I arched an eyebrow. On his face? I had never done that before.

I crawled up to him, knees on either side of his face, and lowered myself just a bit, concerned about my position and what he was asking of me.

“Lower.”

His hands tightened on my hips, and before I realized it, his tongue was pressed into me. I gripped the headboard, trying to steady myself, but it was pointless. Adrian was unrelenting. His filthy mouth destroyed me, and my already heightened senses rose. My core ignited in pleasure.

“Fuck, Adrian. Please.”

I had no idea what I was asking for, but he did. He sucked on my clit, and my body shook as I gave into the pleasure he pulled from me. I leaned my head forward, trying to catch my breath, to move from where I was. I needed to move anywhere but there; however, Adrian’s grip on me was unrelenting.

“Again.” His demand was muffled.

My insides quivered. He wanted more from me than I could give.

“I…I can’t.”

I didn’t even believe my own words. My body was alight with need.

Adrian chose for me, not stopping. Without any chance to come down from my high, he was already pushing me towards the edge again.

I cried out as his mouth explored me, and my legs shook.

I couldn’t help but thrust my hips forward when he gripped my ass even harder than before.

My breath caught, and my head fell back as I crashed over the precipice again.

Adrian moved my body as I came back down to earth. My muscles were limp, and he arranged me at his will, something that should not have been as hot as it was. I would always be grateful for the trust we had built between us.

“You did so well,” he murmured, then kissed my forehead. “Now I’m going to fuck you, Evelyn. I need to feel you around me.”

I smiled as he helped me straddle him, sliding into me with one strong thrust.

“Fuck, you feel so good,” he groaned.

I pressed myself up on his chest and circled my hips the best I could.

My mind calmed as I gave my body over to him.

The scent of sex in the room, the feel of his body under mine, the utter fucking joy he brought to my heart all combined as he thrust into me from below.

My body clenched around him as the remnants of pleasure ran through me.

I felt as if I had never come down, just riding the same high from my very first orgasm, and now I was whole.

The feeling of fullness I didn’t even know I needed contributed to the pleasure rising inside me.

Adrian grunted as we moved, and I loved the sound.

Knowing I could bring him as much pleasure as he was bringing me made my heart soar.

My body responded to his, and he held me tighter, pressing into me harder.

Then, finally, when I thought I couldn’t take any more, he let go.

My walls clenched around him, milking every last drop from him as I gave out and collapsed onto his chest. His arms wrapped around me, holding me close, anchoring me to him.

I pressed my face into his neck and basked in the warm feelings coursing through me.

Sometime later, I heard pans clatter in the kitchen. I buried my face in my hands. “Fuck, I forgot Dominic was here.” My cheeks burned. How could I forget he was here? We hadn’t been quiet, and he had probably heard everything.

Adrian chuckled underneath me, prying my hands away from my face. He rubbed circles with his thumbs on my wrists. “It’s okay. We actually talked to him yesterday.”

“You talked to him about us having sex this morning?” I asked, arching an eyebrow.

He laughed. “No. We talked to him about you. About you two pursuing a relationship if you wanted to.”

I froze on top of him. “You what?”

What did he mean, they all talked? Like all of them, all of them? About Dominic and me? I mean, did I find Dominic attractive? Yes. But I had firmly put him in the ‘no-thinking-about-that’ box in my brain.

He laughed at whatever expression played on my face. “We talked to him about how we were fine if he wanted to pursue a relationship with you. But only if you wanted it,” he added.

“All of you?” I raised an eyebrow skeptically. There was no way they were all on board. Were they?

“All of us,” Adrian confirmed. “Look, you don’t need to decide anything right now. But I’m just saying, if you wanted to get to know the guy better, none of us would have any objections. And if you wanted a relationship with him, we would be okay with that.”

I heard the words he was saying, but it was like there was static in my brain.

“I’ll think about it,” I said finally.

I didn’t know what to think right now or how to process what he said, so it was all I could give him right now.

Adrian squeezed my hips. “That’s all I ask. Just know that you deserve the world, and if Dominic wants to give it to you, let him.”

I nodded, and he took pity on me, carrying me to the bathroom so we could get cleaned up.

Dominic was in the kitchen making breakfast when we entered. He was dressed in gray sweatpants and a white T-shirt. Seriously, did they all own gray sweatpants? Was it part of the standard hot guy wardrobe?

At our entrance, Dominic looked over his shoulder. My cheeks flamed. I ignored Adrian’s chuckle as I took a seat at the counter. Dominic, to his credit, didn’t say anything about hearing us. He slid a cup of tea in front of me.

My eyes dropped to the mug, and I groaned. “Not you too.”

His brow furrowed. “What? I made it how Adrian said you like it.”

Adrian cracked up behind us, and I turned to glare at him fiercely, then looked back at Dominic. “Adrian is on a mission to deprive me of the sweet, life-sustaining sustenance that is coffee.”

Adrian finally stopped chuckling and took a seat next to me, although his grin was wide. “You like tea, though.”

“That’s beside the point.” I waved my hand at him. “Tea is for bedtime. Coffee is for mornings. And afternoons.”

“She would mainline it if we let her,” Adrian told Dominic.

Dominic laughed. “Got it. I take it the life-sustaining part is to sustain the lives around you, not just your own?”

I beamed at him. “Exactly. See.” I smacked Adrian on the arm. “He gets it.”

“Well, let me get this out of your way then.” Dominic took the cup of tea and poured it down the sink. “One cup of life-sustaining sustenance coming up.”

He poured me a cup of coffee, and Adrian got up to fetch the creamer from the fridge. Dominic watched Adrian closely as he made my coffee, like he was committing how I liked it to memory. Adrian handed the mug to Dominic, who slid it to me.

I let out a happy hum when I took my first sip. Dominic’s eyes darkened at the sound, and I fought the urge to squirm in my seat. Dominic was an attractive man, but was mutual attraction enough? He had a life outside this city, and my life was here. Ugh, I didn’t have enough coffee for this yet.

I looked away first, breaking the spell, and Adrian and Dominic worked together to plate up the breakfast Dominic had made.

They worked well together. There was no awkwardness as they moved around the kitchen.

It was like they had done this for years instead of less than two weeks.

Was this what the future could look like?

I wasn’t sure, but I think I wanted to figure it out.
