Mine.

Mine.

Mine.

Soleil is mine.

My witch. My sunshine. The center of my entire existence.

My mate.

Her hot, rich blood flows from the wound I’ve made, sealing us together as surely as my knot lodged in the wet ecstasy of her cunt.

It’s as if I no longer exist.

I’m simply a part of her. She’s a part of me.

The two of us together, as one, with no beginning and no end.

I could stay here, just like this, forever.

Inside my mate in every way I can be, filling her and drinking from her, my old self washed away.

But when Soleil gasps again, I ease my fangs from her, still my rutting hips.

“Are you alright?”

Her eyes flicker open, and the look in them would send me to my knees if I were capable of such a thing right now.

“I’m wonderful,” she says with a breathless laugh. “Don’t stop.”

Who am I to do anything but obey my witch’s command?

A powerful thrust of my hips, a slow slide of my fangs back into her throat, and she lets out a cry of pleasure that sounds like music to my ears.

I sip from her, rut her, mark her. Give her another climax, and then another, spend myself again until we’re both panting and exhausted, collapsing into each other in a web of ether non-space, lost in the magick of our consecrated bond.

Still locked together, we let the ether hold us. Drifting aimlessly, endlessly, until Soleil regains enough of her senses to gaze around us in wonder.

“So, uh, how do you think we get out of here?”

“We have to leave?” I ask dreamily, and she laughs again.

“At some point, yes, I think we have to go back to our life.”

“Our life.” I wrap my arms around her, rock my hips to see if my knot has subsided enough to slip out of her. It hasn’t, and I devour the lovely little moan the movement elicits straight from her lips. “I like the sound of that.”

“So do I,” she murmurs.

Eventually, my knot softens enough for us to disentangle, and though I’m loath to leave here and return to reality, she’s right. Soleil has to prepare for her Ascension, and I’ve got my own plans to sort out.

As we get our bearings, the ether around us begins to swirl in the familiar way it does while traveling through the Veil. On instinct, I reach for my mate, and she lets me lift her into my arms as we’re pulled forward through the portal and step back out on the other side.

We’re in the demon realm this time, with the moon shining bright and the clearing around the Veil empty of any other travelers.

The Goddess, in her infinite helpfulness and mercy, has blessed us with the gift of restoring our clothes.

Not that I mind my own nudity so much, but the idea of anyone else laying eyes on Soleil’s magnificent body makes me want to wrap her in my wings and keep her there forever.

I set my mate gently back down on her feet and let my hands linger on her waist, her back, her shoulders. Catching a finger under her chin, I tip her face toward mine and smile down at her.

“Are you ready?” I ask.

“For what?”

“For everything.” A brush of my lips against hers, a breath-stealing pull of the bond between us, so much stronger now than when we stepped into the Veil.

“Yeah,” Soleil murmurs against my lips. “Are you?”

“Always, sunshine. As long as I’ve got you, I’m ready for anything.”
