"Cori?" Uri said, opening our closet door.

Without turning on the light, he walked to the back to find me.

Our closet was huge, damn near the size of most people's bedrooms, but I wasn't going to complain.

In the middle of the closet was an extra-large plush couch that was big enough for all of us to fit on.

"Cori?" He gently pulled my toe, and I looked away from the skyline.

Uri had copied the idea from the hotel that we'd stayed at and put a skyline on the roof.

I loved it. "Baby, I know you still not mad about Oreo. "

"I'm not," I laughed and shook my head. I looked at him and smiled. "Just know I'm not cleaning up goat shit."

"Nah, I got it," he said. "Move over." He climbed on the couch and pulled me close to him. "You alright?"

"Yeah."

"Why are you in here then? I thought we were going to watch a movie on the living room couch until we fell asleep."

"We are; I just wanted a second of peace before we did," I answered him. "We can just sit here and chill if you want," he offered.

"No, I want to," I closed my eyes. "Just give me a minute."

"We ain't watching a movie," he chuckled. "You're going to be asleep in a minute."

The closet door opened again. "Mama? Daddy? Y'all in here?" Judah called out.

"On the couch," I answered him. Seconds later, I felt the couch move, and his hand covered mine on Uri's chest. "Judah, where is Oreo?"

"Right here."

I opened my eyes and raised to see Oreo on the floor on the side of the couch. Judah treated Oreo like a dog. I hated to admit it, but he was actually well-behaved. I shook my head, then lay back down. We all lay there comfortable and content. Uri was right; we weren’t going to watch that movie.

"Daddy?" Judah mumbled half awake.

"Yeah, kid?"

"Can we get another mini goat?"

"Man, we're barely keeping Oreo; don't push our luck right now," Uri laughed.

"As long as you know," I said and closed my eyes.

"Ah man," he sighed. "Okay."

"Go to sleep, Judah," I yawned. If I didn't tell him to go to sleep, he would ask a million questions.

"Daddy?"

"Yeah, kid?"

"Why did Krude call me Li'l Chopped and Screwed?"

"What was the conversation?"

He yawned. "I was playing the game earlier with Krude, and we won. He kept yelling, 'tell them who yo parents are Li'l Chopped and Screwed tell'em who yo parents are."

"I am going to kick Krude's ass," I said.

"I got it," Uri said, then picked up my phone from the arm of the couch. He dialed a number, then put it on speaker.

"Hello"

"Genesis DeCorte!" I fussed without moving. "You called my baby Li'l Chopped and Screwed?"

"Yep."

"Why?"

"Corinthians, don't y'all whole family stutter?" He questioned. When I didn't reply, he laughed. "Exactly. Now that I got you on the phone, you trying to RSVP to my baby shower? I'm trying to get my guest list together now."

"Krude, you are not pregnant!"

"Girl, my nipples are sore, and I'm always nauseous. I know my body," he scoffed. "You'll get your invite in the mail. Make sure you respond in time, or you won't have a spot." He hung up.

I shook my head. "Here we go with this again."
