Chapter Seven
Jessica sputtered as the wolf drenched her face in his saliva. “This is gross.”
She knew she had said the wrong thing when he let more of his weight on her and started nipping at her neck and shoulder.
Oh, God. It felt heavenly, and his scent was the same as when he had been a man. She thought it might be perverse to enjoy a wolf’s nips, but she didn’t think of him as a wolf as much as she did a man—her mate.
Was that really possible? She had so many questions, but her focus was on what he was doing to her body.
He lifted his head and gazed down at her.
Between one blink and the next, he went from his wolf to the man who was slowly driving her crazy.
She felt her body soften even more at the heated look in his eyes. The exact color of the wolf’s eyes.
He stared down at her for a moment before he lowered his head and pressed his lips against hers. The dart of molten desire skated down her spine.
She started to rub her hands over his arms and shoulders, but froze when she realized he was naked. Very naked with an erection that jabbed at her hip.
She ripped her mouth from his. “You’re naked.”
He chuckled and went back in for another kiss. Her thoughts scattered as his tongue slid into her mouth and mated with hers. He shifted his hips to make room between her thighs for his body.
A gasp tore from her mouth when she felt the ridge of his cock pressed rhythmically against her sensitive clit, making her already wet panties sopping wet.
She was thrown over so quickly. Jessica was shocked when he made her climax without really trying. She heard him chuckle as he stilled against her.
“How did you do that? I’ve never had an orgasm so quickly and without really trying.”
“Because we’re mates,” he replied. “The sex will get better and better.”
“I’m not sure I’d survive that.”
He scowled down at her.
“What?” she asked.
“I don’t want you to talk about dying ever again.”
“Gideon, I didn’t mean it that way.” She started to run her hands up and down his back to try to calm him.
He exhaled and nodded. “I’m sorry, mate. I just don’t like the thought of losing you.”
She trailed her fingertips down one side of his face. “I will do my very best not to get hurt or di...”
His face darkened. “Don’t say it, mate.”
She rolled her eyes. “I’ll try my very best.”
“You’ll do better than that because you have me.”
She tried to push him off, and he just grinned when he didn’t budge. She blew out a frustrated breath. “Listen, I haven’t agreed to anything.”
He scowled. “Are you denying that the feelings we have for each other are not normal?”
“Well, yes. But...”
“No buts. I want you to stay here. I’ll have someone go get your things, or we can just buy more.”
“Gideon, I am not moving in right now. Things are too complicated.”
“You’re making them that way. What exactly is stopping you?” he asked.
She couldn’t really tell him just one thing. There were so many things going through her head. “Why can’t you give me a little time?”
“Because I’ve been waiting for you for decades...”
“Yes, and I just found out about this. You’re pushing a lot of information on me.”
“I don’t like the way you keep refusing me, mate.”
She snorted. “Get used to it, big guy. If you think you’re getting a meek little ... puppy, you’re wrong.”
His eyebrows shot up. “Puppy? Really?”
She grinned.
“How much time?” he asked.
“I don’t know.”
He stared down at her for a moment before he sighed. “Fine. I’ll give you twenty-four hours...”
She shook her head. “No. That’s not enough.”
She could tell she was making him mad, but he had better learn now that she wasn’t a pushover.
“We’ll discuss this tomorrow.”
She nodded. “Call me tomorrow morning.”
“You’d better get it into your pretty little head that I refuse to wait a month before I claim you and have you here, and we’re married and mated. I don’t want to take any chances that you might be taken from me.”
Her stomach twisted. “Married?”
“Yes. I want everything with you. Marriage and babies.”
“We met a day ago, and you’re already talking about babies?” She couldn’t believe how fast everything was going, and she needed some space to be able to think.
Jessica sighed. “Can you take me home, or can I call the driver?”
“No. I’ll take you.”
She bit her lip because he sounded like a toddler not getting his way.
Her mouth dropped open when he stood in front of her naked. She had forgotten that his clothing had ripped when he shifted.
He chuckled and pulled a set of clothing out of a closet he had in his office. “You’d better get used to seeing me nude because we’re both going to be naked a lot.”
She turned away. She didn’t want to start another argument, so she kept quiet. Her body jerked when his arm came around her waist, and he pulled her tightly against his body. He bent and bit lightly at her neck, making her head automatically fall to the side to give him better access.
He growled. “We’d better get out of here, mate, before I push too hard.”
She agreed. She knew it wouldn’t take much for her body to burn and crave his cock inside of her.
He led her out to his car, helped her in, then moved to his side. He made sure her seatbelt was fastened before starting the car. He took her hand as he drove out of his driveway and headed towards hers.
“Can you take me around to the back of the garden?”
“Why?” he asked.
“Because I don’t want them to know we’re together yet.”
She knew he didn’t like that answer, but he did as she wished and turned down a road that would get them to the place she wanted.
They pulled up to the grove of trees and parked.
She turned to him and squeezed his hand. “I’m sorry that you’re upset, but I promise to get things figured out quickly.”
“Good. I can’t go a day without at least talking to you.”
“I’ll call you in the morning with the phone you gave me.”
He nodded. “Okay.” He pulled her to him, and she let him take her mouth like he was starved.
He lifted his head. “You should go before I change my mind.”
She scrambled out of the car. She smiled before she closed the door and watched him drive away.
She couldn’t get the smile off her face, and she needed to get it together. If her father or sister saw her this happy, they would know something was up.
Jessica was headed back towards the house when she heard her sister call out for her. She quickly dropped to her knees beside a bed of flowers and started pulling weeds.
“I’m over here,” she called out.
Bambi came around a corner and stopped when she saw her.
“What’s up?” Jessica asked as she continued to pull weeds.
“The maid said you went out earlier.”
She scrambled to find an explanation. “I had a doctor’s appointment. If you needed me, you could have just called.”
Her sister’s eyes narrowed. “But you’re not sick.”
Jessica rolled her eyes at her sister. “I’m not. It was my yearly gynecology appointment to get a Pap test done. Have you gotten yours done lately?”
Jessica could see the speculation in Bambi’s eyes and knew how to get her to leave. She wiped her hands on her jeans before she scratched her face, leaving some dirt behind.
“Oh, my God. You are so gross,” Bambi cried out.
“What?” she asked innocently.
“You have dirt all over you.”
It looked like Bambi was losing it and about ready to vomit.
“If there isn’t anything you need, you’d better go. Just standing there is making you dirty.”
“It is not,” she bellowed.
“Do you feel the wind?”
“Yes.”
“The wind blows everything around, you know, like dirt and dust, and it has to land somewhere.”
With a shriek, Bambi turned and hurried back to the house.
Jessica watched her go and smiled. It was so easy to get her. She decided to stay for a bit because there were a lot of weeds, and it was the best place to think. She had a lot of decisions to make, and he wasn’t going to give her any time.
