Chapter 45

Corrine

“Apparently, Xavier and I are going out somewhere,” I say as I swipe mascara on my eyelashes while focusing in the mirror.

“Fun!” my sister says enthusiastically on the phone. She sounds almost too excited, which makes me suspicious.

“Did he say where?” Kaz asks nonchalantly.

“Nope,” I reply, popping my ‘p’ at the end in annoyance. “It’s a surprise.”

Riley laughs. “Exciting!”

Now I'm really suspicious. “You wouldn’t happen to know anything about this, would you?”

Both say ‘no’ in unison, making me roll my eyes. “Anyways, he told me it wasn’t anything fancy but to dress sexy. I think I’m going to go with a little black bodycon dress. What are you guys wearing tonight?”

Kaz is smart and stays silent, but Riley totally takes the bait and starts to answer me. “I was thinking of my one…Hey, that is not fair!” she yells through the phone.

“You always were a bad secret keeper,” I laugh. “Now tell me what the hell is going on. I’m not ready to walk down an aisle yet, so there better not be a marriage proposal coming.”

Now it's Kaz’s turn to laugh. “Nothing like that, Corrine. I think Xavier knows exactly your style, and something tells me you will like it way more than a ring.”

“Whatever,” I grumble. “You both suck. I’m going to finish getting ready. This better be worth it.”

“Bye!” they both yell before hanging up.

An hour later, I walk out of the room wearing my little black dress and strappy black heels, with my hair loosely curled and my lips covered in a deep shade of red.

“You look fucking fantastic,” Xavier says, scanning my body appreciatively. He waltzes over and runs his fingers across the bottom of my dress, dragging it up a bit.

“Don’t even think about it,” I say, swatting his hand and stepping back.

He pouts, pushing out his lip. “I just wanted to know if you had panties on under there.”

“Maybe if you're lucky and the surprise is good, I might let you find out,” I tease.

He laughs and grabs my hand, dragging me out the door and down the elevator. As soon as we step off, I feel him come up around me with a blindfold.

“I can’t wait to take this off,” he whispers in my ear, sending tingles down my back. Since I can’t see, he helps me into a car before sliding in next to me.

“You know where to go,” he says to the driver.

The drive is quiet, besides the low music playing on the stereo. Xavier rubs his fingers along the hem of my dress, not even attempting to lift it again. I would be disappointed if it weren't for the nervous anticipation I have for whatever he plans on surprising me with.

We stop suddenly, and the car door opens.

“Xavier, slow down,” I laugh as he tugs me behind him. Whatever he has for me, he seems extremely excited about.

We walk through a door, and my senses are on high alert. My ears perk up when I hear “Do Wrong” by Lowborn playing over speakers. The air is thick with the smell of pheromones. It literally smells like sex, and my body warms at the thought. I follow behind Xavier as he leads me through a few turns and up a set of stairs before sitting me down on what feels like a couch. Then he slowly undoes my blindfold while kissing my neck. I blink a few times, my eyes adjusting to the dim lighting where we are sitting as I turn my head to look at him. I run my hands along the velvet couch as he leans over from behind me, his eyes sparkling.

“Where are we?” I ask, smiling.

He gestures for me to look around. I scan around, realizing we are on some sort of balcony, so I get up to look over the railing, which is completely see-through glass. As I look down, I see a giant circular bed with spotlights hitting it from every direction. The scene looks very familiar as I watch the mass of tangled bodies fucking down below. If I squint, I can outline the couches surrounding the room's bottom.

“Are we where I think we are?” I ask as I bite my lip.

Xavier is behind me, caging me in with his arms as he peers over my shoulder and presses himself against me.

“Where I first met you, Butterfly.”

“I don’t remember this balcony being here.”

“That's because it wasn’t. It was a small utility room that I had them convert into a special room just for us. I even had them move the couch we originally fooled around on up here.”

“How the hell did you do that?” I ask curiously as I watch the bodies below. “Doesn’t Lockhart own this place?”

“I bought Lock & Key from him. He won’t be a problem anymore. We came to an understanding.”

I spin around, my eyes wide. “You bought this place?”

“I bought it for us. I was thinking maybe you could help me spruce it up a bit. You know, with your amazing artistic abilities,” Xavier says as he gazes into my eyes.

“You are absolutely insane,” I say as I nudge him backward. He looks at me with a worried expression.

“Completely crazy,” I say, nudging him again. The back of his legs hit the couch.

“Sexy as Fuck,” I whisper, pushing him down onto the couch. “I can’t believe you did this for us.” I drop to my knees. Xavier’s eyes grow hooded as he watches me unzip his pants and pull his already-hard dick out and stroke it.

“This is the best surprise ever,” I say as I lick up the side of his shaft before opening my mouth and swallowing him all the way down. He moans as he hits the back of my throat.

“I’m going to buy every fucking sex club in New York if this is my reward,” he groans as he grabs the back of my head.

I laugh around his dick as I stroke and suck him until he is coming down my throat. He then proceeds to flip me over on the couch and devour me until I’m screaming so loud I might actually lose my voice. Once we finish, he drags me back into the main room and up to the VIP section, where all our friends are waiting.

“Your lipstick is smudged,” Kaz whispers as she leans over and wipes under my lip with her thumb. She smirked at me when I thanked her, then glanced at her phone before walking away to answer it.

Riley comes up and hugs me before Sebastian grabs her and yanks her onto his lap, holding her to his body. I laugh out loud at how possessive he is of her. She loves it, and they are perfect together. I look over at Xavier as he sits beside me on the couch. He runs his hand up and down my leg as he laughs at some joke Jonathan makes. I love seeing him happy again. I love knowing that I’m the one that makes him happy. I never thought I would be like my sister and find one person who would complete me so perfectly, but now that I have, I can’t imagine it any other way.

Xavier notices me staring at him and looks at me with a smile. “A penny for your thoughts?” he asks.

“I was just thinking about how perfect you are.”

“Don’t you mean how perfect we are?”

“Yeah, that,” I say, laughing.

“I love you,” he says as he leans over and kisses me

“I love you too, Butterfly.”

“A toast to another happy couple!” Jonathan slurs out as he hands out tube shots to everyone. “May the rest of us find something just as special as what you guys have!” He looks at Kaz, and she looks away, clearly annoyed, as she downs the shot. Then she grabs Riley and me and pulls us up to dance the rest of the night away while everyone laughs at Sebastian’s grumbling.
