Chapter Thirteen
Consciousness slowly filled Jade’s mind, dragging him from the blackout the drug had induced.
He barely opened his eyes, keeping them slits to make sure the man driving didn’t become aware his passenger was now awake.
Luckily, Jade still wore the same pants he’d been wearing when he’d been captured, so he slowly, carefully, reached to the waistband to make sure his tracker was activated.
When the damn car blocked them in, he’d moved the GPS tracker he had hidden on his bike and hid it on himself.
Now, he was fucking happy his first bike had been stolen.
Otherwise, he might not have a tracker. Good thing he listened to his instincts.
By his calculations, he and Shiloh had been ambushed the day before, so the Sons should’ve already been put on red alert.
When they found his bike, he knew Saint would discover the tag missing, and know why.
Once he got Shiloh back, he was going to spank her ass until it hurt to sit down. How dare she make such a stupid bargain with that fucking monster? And how dare she declare her love and not give him the courtesy of doing the same?
Because he did. He loved her more than his own life.
He had no idea how long he’d been knocked unconscious. Had a day passed already? Two? His bladder told him it had been a while. The longer Shiloh stayed with that maniac, the more she could be suffering. He had to get back to her quickly.
“Hey, asshole,” he said.
The driver jumped a little, obviously expecting his prisoner to be asleep the whole trip.
“I have to piss,” Jade continued.
The man ignored him.
“Hey.” Still nothing. “You know, I have no problem pissing all over your car.”
The driver gave a pained sigh, flipped on his turn signal, and pulled over. Then he just sat behind the wheel.
“My hands are behind my back, fuck wad. You either hold my dick while I take a leak, or you need to unzip-tie me.”
Jade wasn’t sure, but he thought he heard the man cursing under his breath.
That gave him a satisfied sense of humor.
The man exited the car and came around to the passenger side, opening the backseat door.
He watched as Jade sat up and scooted to the open door.
When he stepped out, he turned around so the man had access to the tight plastic.
“Don’t try anything,” the man warned.
“I’m too weak,” Jade assured him. “Too much blood loss.”
That was an absolute lie. Yes, he’d lost blood, but right now fury and desperation pumped through him, obliterating any supposed weakness. With more muttering under his breath, the stupid idiot cut him free.
As soon as he flexed his arms straight, he turned and cold-cocked the asshole.
The man fell to the ground with a thud, knocked the fuck out.
Jade patted him down and found his cell phone, hoping the man used biometrics.
Good luck was on his side because all he had to do was place the man’s fingerprint to unlock it.
As he placed a call, he unzipped and pulled out his dick, making sure to piss all over the man.
“Yes?” came the cautious greeting through the helmet-mounted headset.
“Boss, it’s me.”
“Jade! What the fuck?”
“Shiloh’s stepfather found us. Shot me, and made a deal with her. Her life for mine.”
“We’ll get her back. Where are you now?”
“I’ve no idea,” he replied, looking around. Sunrise was peeking over the horizon. “I was knocked out.”
“War is tracking you. Seems like you’re somewhere on the border of Missouri and Kansas.”
“I gotta get back there.”
“Do you know where?”
“Yeah, her hometown. I was awake for the ride.”
“How bad are you shot?”
“Bullet’s not in me, but my shoulder hurts like a motherfucker.”
“Nero is with us. He’ll fix you up. Stay where you are. We’ll get to you as quickly as possible.”
Jade glanced down at the knocked-out man. “Never mind me. I have access to a car. I’ll meet you in Missouri at the Sect of Some People Are Gonna Fucking Die cult. They’re going to do something bad to Shiloh, and I’ve got to get to her.”
“You take care of yourself,” Saint ordered.
“Will do, Boss.”
He clicked off and went to the driver’s side, glad to see the keys still in the ignition.
Sliding behind the wheel, he popped the trunk open, got back out, and headed to the man.
He lifted him, wincing as his sore shoulder protested, then tossed the idiot in and shut the lid.
Yep, it hurt, but he didn’t care. His anger overshadowed everything, including any pain he would normally feel.
Shiloh’s asshole stepfather thought he could touch his woman.
He was going to erase the fucking cult off the face of the Earth.

A call came through on his pilfered phone. One quick glance showed it was from a Wyoming area code. He was almost to the town and answered the call.
“Yeah?”
“We’re at the welcome sign just outside the town limits,” Sinner told him. “Do you want us to wait for you?”
“Yeah, I’m about five minutes away.”
“See you soon.”
He ended the call, and a couple of minutes later, he spotted Nero’s black Mercedes van, which had been refitted like an ambulance, just in case one of them needed immediate medical attention.
In front of the van were four bikes, and Jade recognized Saint, Sinner, War, and much to his surprise, Jackson Cole, a nomad Son who visited once in a while.
His road name was Ryder, and he was just as deadly with a gun as any of them.
Jade pulled onto the shoulder ahead of the bikes and turned off the engine before he got out of the car.
Saint gave a nod to the beat-up piece of crap. “Nice car.”
“I borrowed it.” He held his hand out to Jackson. “Ryder. Glad to have you with us on this.”
Jackson shook it. “Arrived just as these guys were heading out. Thought one more gun would help.”
“Definitely. Every fucker in the Sect needs to die, but Shiloh’s stepfather is mine.”
“You got it,” Saint vowed. “Let’s ride.”
They pulled their helmets on while Jade marched back to his car. This rescue was long overdue.
