Chapter 7
Chapter Seven
MALICE
Three weeks ago, Gates, Gavin, and Gemini were born and I’m finally getting them and Willow home. I’ve stayed with her the entire time since the day at the hospital, making sure she didn’t strain herself for anything she shouldn’t.
Willow agreed to come home with me, but she’d wanted to spend the first few weeks after having the triplets at her grandpa’s farm where she grew up.
During this time, I got to know my woman for the free spirit she really is.
Not in the way of a woman who has to live a nomad lifestyle or anything like that.
No the other day when it’d had started to rain while sitting on the porch, she’d walked off the porch and started twirling in the middle of the yard with her head raised to the sky.
Wesley had been sitting with us and told me this was her way of connecting with her dad.
To her, she felt the rain was her father visiting her in some way.
Weird as shit, but I’ve seen some strange shit happen in my life.
The old man explained to me that his mother was a psychic and could read emotions as well as see forward.
Said the next woman to be born to the family would be able to sense those who are no longer with us.
This explains why Willow is the way she is.
The easy nature she carries within her and how she’s able to allow me into her life as easily as she did.
Though she’s not let me get any closer than us talking or working together taking care of the triplets.
To say three are hard to handle at one time is an understatement.
Due to the overwhelming feelings she went through when she found she couldn’t breastfeed, I knew it was something I needed to help her with.
Quinn explained to me this was a bonding experience between mom and baby that is supposed to be beautiful.
She also told me about how I should help Willow feel that bond in other ways, so I did.
Each night when the three of them wake up ready for a bottle, I’m there.
I help her change them and then go make the three bottles.
I learned the first night in the hospital how to help Willow feel that connection.
I had gently climbed into the bed next to her while she held one baby in each arm.
I held the other. She’d cradled them in the crook of her arm and held a bottle in each hand while I carefully held the other in a similar position.
Only I used my free hand to hold the bottle.
It’s been an experience I’d not done before and a sense of pride fills me each time I do this alongside her.
Now we’re getting ready to head home to the clubhouse.
Willow didn’t mind us living at the clubhouse like I thought she might.
She worried mostly about the babies waking others up.
I’d explained to her that it wasn’t something to worry about.
The brothers wouldn’t mind. These three kids are family, and they’d get over it.
It’s good I’d brought my truck because I wasn’t putting Willow in her car. To me, it’s nothing more than a death trap on wheels considering it was nothing more than a small little beetle. She wouldn’t have been able to put all three car seats in the back.
While we’d been in the hospital, I gave Gunner my card and had him take Quinn shopping to get all the shit we’d need for the kids.
Willow had some of it already, like the cribs for them and the cradles that we could put next to the bed, but she’d gone and gotten everything else for us.
So the back of my truck is now filled with all sorts of baby shit that we gotta get to the clubhouse and put together.
It’s gonna be interesting to say when we get there, considering a week ago, Hammer’s little boy Tate was born. Having not just one or two babies in the clubhouse but four. Our three to go with my Prez’s one.
“You ready for this?” Wesley asks as I close the tailgate.
Turning to him, I cross my arms. “Yeah, I’m ready.”
“Don’t fuck up again. I’m being nice because I know about your family and your reasons.
You didn’t have to tell me why, for me to know.
You were protecting them, which I appreciate.
But now that you have them going with you, I find out you hurt my granddaughter, Hades himself won’t be able to find your body,” Wesley says sternly.
“You don’t gotta worry about me fuckin’ leaving her.
If you know about my family, you know I’m not letting them get close to her.
I’m sure by now they’ve found out and are looking to plot, but I intend to be one step ahead of them.
They won’t get close to Willow or our kids,” I growl, making a mental note to check in with Cy after getting home about any updates on them.
“Good, they’re mid-level in the group of monsters and will answer to the ones that sit at the top.
” I blink at this information. How much does this old man know?
“Just keep an eye on them. They find out who Willow is, they might go to the man who intended to buy my granddaughter when her cunt of a mother and stepfather tried to sell her as a toddler.”
This is news I didn’t know.
“You’re just now telling me this shit?” I seethe.
“Wasn’t your business until now.” He shrugs.
Motherfucker.
I’ll have Cy look into her mother. See if he can find more on this shit. I don’t have time or want to think about this at the moment. I need to get my woman and kids, load them up in the truck, and head home where they’ve belonged with me this whole time.
Without letting Wesley goad me further with remarks like the last one, I head into the house to find Willow crouched down in front of the car seats on the floor.
Fuck.
Staring at her, I take in her beauty. She’d been beautiful to me before I ever found out about her being pregnant, missing out on these past months guts me. I will, at some point, experience it, but not for a long while.
First, I need to right the rest of my wrongs with her.
“You ready to go?” I ask, clearing my throat, trying not to think of how good she looks in the long sundress she’s wearing.
Willow cocks her head to the side to look over her shoulder as she stands. “Yeah, I’ve got them ready to go. We’ll probably have to stop before we get there to feed them, but they’re out.”
“That’s fine,” I mutter, stepping close enough to reach out and pull her into my arms. I’ve yet to kiss her more than a peck on the lips since getting her back.
My cock has ached for her, but I restrain my need to do anything about it ‘cause of the restrictions. We still have nearly four weeks left until we can even think about that shit. Besides, before I even think of taking her again, I’m gonna hear the doctor lift the restriction.
I don’t ever want to do anything that would hurt my woman.
No matter my needs.
Stroking her back, I savor the touch of her hands on my chest.
“You ready to come home with me? Be mine in every way?” I ask cautiously.
“I’m ready. My soul is connected to yours and it always will be.
There is no other for me in this life or the next besides you.
I couldn’t not want to go with you. Be yours.
Yes, we have things to work on. A lot of things, but what relationship doesn’t take work to make it last. You made a promise, a vow that we’d always be protected.
” I stop her right there by pressing my mouth to hers.
Lifting back up, I press my forehead to hers. “How did you know about the vow I made?” I ask.
“I felt it in my soul, plus the spirits of the world told me. Mainly my daddy, when it rained, he told me,” she whispers sheepishly.
If it weren’t for the fact she knew what I said, I’d say it were bullshit what she just said, but then again, she’s not the first one I’ve met who had the tendency to hear strange things.
Blaze from the National charter, his ol’ lady is unique in many ways. There’s a lot to the woman no one else but those close to her understands, but I guess I can see now what my brother means by him being his ol’ lady’s anchor.
Pressing my lips to Willow’s once more, I deepen the kiss slipping my tongue into hers. Our tongues dance with each other and my cock hardens behind its zipper confinement as my woman moans against my mouth.
Not wanting to, I break the kiss that causes me to want to postpone leaving and make out with Willow. But the sooner I get her home to the clubhouse, the sooner I get to situate the triplets and continue this moment between the two of us.
And that’s definitely something I look forward to doing.
Releasing my hold on her, I take her hand in mine and give it a squeeze before letting go to start grabbing car seats.
“Go ahead and get in the truck. I’ll bring these two out first, then come back for our little girl,” I murmur while grabbing Gates and Gavin first. With them being so identical right now, I’m grateful to Quinn for being thoughtful enough to have their names put on hats.
Gavin’s is red with his name, Gates’s color is green, and Gemini’s is purple.
Though Gemini is a girl and could be told a part she’s not to be left out with having a special hat.
Nodding, Willow does as I ask while smiling at me.
She knew I wouldn’t let her lift one of their car seats right now.
I’d told her the other day when she tried to that she wasn’t doing that shit until the doctor cleared her for lifting heavier than ten pounds.
Didn’t matter to me if the babies were only right at five pounds each.
Besides out kids, I’m not allowing her to carry anything else.
Outside, I open the back door and place one car seat in its base then the other. After I help Willow into the front seat, I head back in to get my little girl and the diaper bag sitting next to her.
Getting back to the truck, I smirk at Willow as she meets my gaze while talking to Wesley through the window of the passenger door.
Snapping Gemini’s car seat into its base, I put the bag on the floorboard and close the door.
I open the driver’s door and climb in. I’d already started the truck while I’d finished loading the truck up with all the kids’ stuff. I put my seat belt on and twist in my seat to look toward Willow and Wesley.
“Be careful heading home and let me know when y’all get there,” Wesley orders.
“You got it, Grandpa, love you,” Willow says sweetly.
“Love you too, baby girl. Now be good and take care of them babies,” he mutters and looks to me. “Remember what I said and keep me updated.”
“Will do, Wesley,” I grumble with a curt nod in agreement.
Wesley nods and steps back. I turn my attention to Willow. “Let’s go home,” I murmur.
“Home,” she whispers with a smile on her face.
Grinning at my woman, I twist to face straight, put the ignition in gear and press the gas. Yeah, home where she’s always belonged and where she’ll stay.
