Chapter 11

Chapter Eleven

MALICE

I didn’t want to leave Willow and the triplets alone in the room after getting back from the hospital.

Unfortunately, we were having church to find out what all Cy knew so far about what happened.

My gut churns at what he might have found.

If this had anything to do with my parents, I’m going to go berserk.

Entering the room we hold church, I find everyone already waiting for me to come in the room. I grin at the sight of Hammer holding his son, Tate.

Go figure Prez would have his kid in here with him. Shaking my head, I head to my seat. Once seated, Hammer bangs the gavel down on the table, causing Tate to stir in his arms.

“Prez, gotta say you holding a kid is a strange sight to see,” Dagger snickers.

“Fuck off. Avery needs some rest and I’m giving her that time while we’re in here. Now, Cy, give us an update on what you found,” Hammer grumbles.

“From Bambi’s phone records, I was able to trace the numbers back to who they belong to. One of them being Malice’s uncle.” I fuckin’ knew one of them had to be involved. “The other number that was called more than the others belongs to a man named Mario Rivera.”

“Who the fuck is that?” Axe sneers.

“Mario Rivera is another member of the Supreme Masters. He’s also Bambi’s stepbrother, from what I’ve found while looking up information on her. Stupidity on my part for not looking further into her. Which I won’t be doing again,” Cy mutters irritably.

I know he’s probably pissed with himself not looking closer into the woman, but I know for a fact it won’t happen again. It’s why he asked that all the clubwhores be kept in their rooms until we knew the rest were clear and not compromised.

“So do we know what Bambi was doing for Rivera or my uncle?” I ask harshly.

“Bitch hasn’t said shit yet, but we’ll get her to talk,” Hammer growls. “Ally is on the way.”

Nodding, I lean back in my seat and look around the table with my arms crossed over my chest. “There’s something not right here,” I say right out.

“Got that same feeling,” Bruiser mutters from his seat.

“There’s more to what’s going on.” Axe nods.

“Agreed,” Hammer puts in.

“Wesley told me that Willow’s mother was gonna sell her to these men to pay off her and her loser of a husband’s debt.

I wonder if those who she’d planned to sell her to have a hand in all of this,” I state, sitting forward once again, bracing my elbows on the table with my hands clasped in front of me.

“What do you mean?” Gunner asks, brows furrowed in concern.

“What if those men from back then were the ones to try to have Bambi kill my kids. I wouldn’t put it past my uncle to try something like this.

He’s pervy at best and is one hateful fucker.

What if it was him that was trying to buy Willow?

And though my parents would want the triplets with me out of the way, I wouldn’t put it past my uncle to kill them.

Means he keeps his money longer,” I mutter, thinking of my grandmother’s will.

She’d had it set up that her grandkids would get the money that belongs to the family.

I’m the last member of the family alive that’s her grandchild.

Now that I have three kids, that’s more people in my uncle’s way.

Fuck me.

Why didn’t I think of this shit sooner?

“Are you sure?” Hammer asks, patiently letting me have time to figure shit out in my head.

“Oh, I’m sure of it,” I mutter and look to Cy. “Can you pull up a will that belonged to my grandmother?” I ask, giving him her name.

She might have been a vindictive piece of work, but she’d felt something for her grandkids, considering her sons took after her husband and became horrible people. The woman couldn’t help but be the way she was in the world she lived in.

“Yeah, give me just a moment to pull it up,” Cy grumbles, getting to work on his computer.

“What about Mario Rivera?” Bruiser questions, bringing up the other part of our problem.

“I’m wondering if he’s related to the cunt who caused problems up at Stoney’s charter. You know that bitch who took the whores from that warehouse when they’d been dealing with getting Cane’s ol’ lady back,” Gunner remarks.

“At this point, I would say it’s definitely a possibility. Shit, too many people in this world are related in some way or another,” I grumble with a shake of my head.

“You got that right, VP,” Hammer chuckles.

“Alright, so here’s what the will stipulates, the money from your grandmother went to all of her grandchildren and with that, since she passed after your grandfather, so does his.

Meaning there’s nearly a billion dollars sitting around not being touched.

That’s a lot of dough. The kicker that when great-grandchildren come into play, the money shifts to them and if something were to happen to said children, the money would then go to all family members surviving,” Cy reports.

“Holy shit,” Dagger mutters.

“No wonder someone would go after them. They have a target painted on them bigger than the state of South Carolina,” Ruger speaks up for the first time since church started.

“Yeah, it makes me wonder what incentive could have been given to Bambi or her stepbrother,” Axe says.

This debate goes on for a bit until a knock comes at the door. Savage, being closest to the door, gets up and opens it. Outside the door, looking bashful, is my ol’ lady.

“Hey, um, I . . . I’m sorry to interrupt,” she stammers, fiddling with the baby monitor in her hand.

“What’s wrong, Dewdrop?” I ask, motioning her in. She steps in and Savage closes the door.

“I was wondering if you’d be able to help me feed Gates, Gavin, and Gemini their bottles,” she murmurs shyly.

“Yeah, baby, I don’t got a problem with helping you feed them. Prez?” I turn my focus from Willow to Hammer to see him nod.

“We’ll reconvene in the morning after we’ve all had a chance to rest. You look like shit from being at the hospital the last few days,” he mutters and reaches out, grabbing the gavel and slamming it on the table in front of him.

Standing, I move toward my ol’ lady and wrap my arm around her shoulders and maneuver her back out of the room in the direction of ours.

On the way, I debate on whether or not to tell her the information we’ve learned so far or hold off on it until we know for sure.

I don’t want to tell her something that could be only assumptions at this point.

Mind made up to hold off, I open the door to our room for her, to help her feed our kids.

I know she can do it herself, but I’m willing to bet she came to get me because she fears being overwhelmed with it all and doesn’t want to ask one of the other ol’ ladies for help.

I don’t blame her either for not wanting to.

She’s extremely wary about people with them after what happened.
