Chapter 13
Chapter Thirteen
AXE
Several weeks of nothing but enjoying time with CJ, getting to know her even more, has been the best days of my life. I knew I wanted her as mine for the longest time, but I didn’t know I could love someone so quickly.
CJ went back to work managing the bar and the club put someone else with her to keep her from working too hard.
I didn’t want her exhausting herself when she’s only just now healed.
I take her to work and pick her up at the end of the night.
Mainly because I’m there to keep an eye on her.
Not that I don’t trust my brothers to do it for me, but I want to be near her as much as possible.
We’ve had a few arguments where she tried to tell me she didn’t need my help; however, making up is always the best part of it. I’ve always had a healthy appetite for sex, but when it comes to CJ, I’m insatiable.
I swear I fuck her three to four times a day every day. Each time is better than the last. Being the only one who had their cock in her means I get to show her everything.
This morning, I even woke up to having her lips wrapped around my cock. Talk about a hell of a way to wake up. She’s everything to me, and I want the world for her.
The nightmares are finally starting to settle and she’s sleeping through the night.
And tonight we’re staying at the clubhouse for the party.
I hadn’t been to one of our weekend parties since she’d been shot, but it’s her night off, and I’m enjoying it with her and my brothers. I wanna see her wild side come out.
The slobber-crawlers, I’m sure, will try something, but I’ve already put the word out that no one fucks with CJ. They do and they’ll be out on their asses quicker than a pussy being fucked.
After the day CJ confided in me about what she’s endured, the club and I figured it was best to invite the Toxic Warriors up for them to hear it face to face. This news isn’t something you want to hear over the phone.
Scorpion and Viking came up this time together without anyone else. According to Viking, he didn’t want anyone else to hear whatever it was until after he did. To say both men didn’t take the news all that well is an understatement.
Who could blame them either?
CJ’s family to them and they feel guilty for what she’s endured.
“She’s my cousin and I should have protected her better than I did. This whole thing is fucked up. None of this should have happened to CJ,” Viking stated when they were here.
Scorpion had broken a few tables in the main room of the clubhouse. It’s good that Willow and Avery were out with the babies while we spoke with both men. Otherwise, they’d have freaked. Okay, maybe not the women. Those two are tougher than any I know besides CJ.
Focusing on what I’m doing, I finish working on the car in our garage.
DRMC Garage and Repair is our mechanic side of things and gives us a place to work on our shit when needed.
Gunner called me this morning asking for some help.
Evidently, they were slam packed with business this week.
This happens a few times a year when people take their vehicles out to mud-bogs and don’t know what they’re doing.
Stupid if you ask me. You wanna do that shit, get a play toy for it, SUVs ain’t meant to go through a pit of mud unless the vehicle is built for it with all the right shit needed.
Shaking my head, I tighten the last of the spark plugs in place. Thankful it’s not me working on the messed-up vehicles and just doing the tune-ups. I’d probably lose my temper with the customer if I had to deal with them.
My phone starts ringing in my pocket with CJ’s ring tone, and I grin. She picked the shit out after telling me she wanted her own ring, so I’d know it’s her calling me. The fact she picked “Problems” by Adam Calhoun is hilarious as shit.
Wiping the grease from my hands, I dig my phone out and answer before she hangs up. “Hey Sunbeam, you good?”
She’s been at the bar all day doing inventory with the help of Rogue and Carbine. I refuse to leave her unprotected. The same goes for my brothers. Carbine and Colt especially. They’ve grown attached to my ol’ lady and are very protective of her.
“Hey, yeah, we’re open, and business is pouring in,” she says over the music blaring behind her.
“That’s good. I’ll be done here shortly,” I mutter, picking up my tools with my free hand.
“Okay, will you be able to stop by DR’s for me and get dinner?
I’m starving. If I don’t eat something soon, I’ll be tempted to turn into a zombie and start eating brains.
” I grin at her exaggeration. I’ve learned she’s addicted to watching shows and movies like The Walking Dead and House of 1000 Corpses.
It’s a good thing I don’t have a problem with gore and horror, otherwise, I couldn’t sit there and watch them with her.
“Yeah, I’ll stop and get you something to eat,” I chuckle.
If I didn’t know better, I’d think she was pregnant sometimes with the way she eats, but she’d had her period last week.
Those days we’d been inventive with how we did things and since the first several days, we’ve been more cautious with protection.
Until we have this shit with her aunt and uncle taken care of, I don’t want to take the chance of getting her pregnant.
“Thank you, I’ll see you when you get here,” CJ says before ending the call.
Chuckling, I put the phone back in my pocket and finish cleaning up. Once I’m done, I head to the office. I frown at the sight of Cy sitting there with Malice and Gunner.
“What’s going on?” I ask, leaning against the door frame.
“You might wanna come in here and close the door,” Malice mutters.
“Okay.” The words came out slow and distracted as my gut starts to tighten. This can’t be good. “What is it?”
Cy speaks up first, “Was doing my typical shit going through surveillance footage to make sure nothing was missed during the night watch, with Tic on duty last night. He called me last night saying something about one of the screens not seeming to be working right. Tic was right about that. Someone tapped into our camera at the bar and started to play it on a loop.”
“Fuck.” My body goes taut at what I’m hearing.
“We’ve already called Rogue; he’s got his eye on CJ and not letting her out of his sight. He said he’d tell Carbine and Colt to keep a lookout for anyone suspicious,” Malice states.
“I’m heading over there now. I was supposed to stop and get her food but fuck that.
I’m not taking any chances. We’ve lost too much already,” I sneer, infuriated that someone would be ballsy enough to tap into our security system.
“How were they ever able to get access to our security footage anyway?”
“We don’t know. They had to have someone who knows a hell of a lot to be able to do that. I’d just updated the system with Maya, Nerd, Gadget, and Key’s help. The five of us made a damn good system that shouldn’t have been able to be hacked with the coding we used,” Cy mutters, shaking his head.
“Could something have gone wrong with the setup?” Gunner grumbles.
“Nope, we triple-checked the hell out of that shit,” Cy declares.
“What if Tic wasn’t paying attention to the cameras and they had set something up on that one camera?” Gunner suggests.
“It’s a possibility.” Malice nods.
Something comes to mind. “Even if that’s the case, which we should look into. This is their game plan. They want us to be focused on that camera. Which one is it?”
“The one on the hallway with the restrooms for the customers,” Cy informs me, then his eyes widen.
“Fuck, that hall. . . motherfucker. Now I know how they did it. We don’t have someone standing in that hallway the entire time.
Someone could have easily connected a device to the camera itself and no one would have seen them.
Fuck. Fuck. Fuck,” he mutters, standing from the plastic chair in here for customers and paces the room.
“If that’s the case, they’re gonna use this to their advantage. They want us focused on this exit alone. We have four exits in total. We need a man on each one,” I growl.
“Close shop, I’m calling in more of our brothers. We make tonight seem like a party at the bar,” Malice snarls.
“Let’s see what hand those fuckers try next.” It’s bad enough we’re still looking for those slimy bastards that are Avery’s siblings. I swear to fuckin’ God, when I get my hands on them, I will make them pay. But first, I want my hands on the one who’s trying to take my ol’ lady.
Today just went from great to fuckin’ blowin’ in a matter of seconds. Now I just gotta hope when I get to Devil’s Bar, nothing’s out of the ordinary, and I can keep CJ safe.
I made a promise I’d keep her safe and I’ll devote my life to doing just that because she fuckin’ owns my heart.
