40. CHAPTER 35
AXL
We’re sitting in my SUV in front of the Talon mansion.
Saylor’s in the passenger seat with her knees pulled up and my hoodie swallowing her.
She’s leaning over to watch me go through the camera footage from our room.
She hasn’t said much since we left her parents’ house.
I made her drink water on the drive, and she did it without fighting me.
The last thing she needs is for me to hold her down and force water into her body.
I go back to around the time Saylor thought she returned to the room and see a figure entering our suite, seemingly without any issues.
“Did you give anyone our door code?” I ask her. “I won’t get mad, but you have to tell me if you did.”
She gasps watching the man she believed was me enter our room. She shakes her head. “No. I swear.”
He’s wearing a mask like mine, and Tracy follows behind him holding his hand. Once the door closes, he spins her into him. She’s smiling like she’s having the best fucking time.
Saylor’s nails dig into my forearm, and I don’t give a shit as long as she’s touching me.
The man pushes Tracy onto the bed, and she goes willingly.
I don’t need to see the rest. This was set up.
The question is who helped Tracy organize this shit, because she doesn’t seem capable of figuring this out on her own.
The man in a mask like mine willingly fucked her after they managed to get my door code.
“Someone set us up.”
“I’m sorry, Axl.” She exhales, and her grip on my arm loosens.
I grip her chin and pull her face to mine so we’re almost nose to nose. “Don’t do that. I’ll tell you when I want you to kneel at my feet and beg for forgiveness. But not for this shit. Someone else is going to pay.” I kiss her, closing my eyes and deepening the kiss when she kisses me back.
Fuck, I need her.
I break the kiss and let go of her chin. “We’re going to go talk to Tracy and see what the fuck is going on here.”
Saylor bites her lip but nods in understanding.
I’ll let her come with me to figure out what the fuck this is.
I don’t have anything to hide, and I don’t want her out of my sight.
I don’t trust anyone right now—Tracy, my father, Saylor’s brother, or her father.
Any one of them have reason to fuck with me and Saylor.
And my fucking father is at the top of my list.
I go to the other side and open her door for her. We walk through the front entrance and hear moans as soon as we’re inside.
Jesus fucking Christ.
I take Saylor’s hand and lead her toward the sound.
As soon as we turn the corner, we see Tracy riding Crew on one of the couches with her skirt around her waist. Kase is sitting in the chair across from them with his feet up, watching while his hand drifts to unzip his pants.
Another Talon I don’t know well is sitting over on the other side.
Show’s over.
Crew has his hands on her hips. His attention shifts to Saylor and me, but he doesn’t stop. He’s a fucking prick. “What’s up?”
I walk over to the couch and grab Tracy by the arm, pulling her off Crew’s dick. She stumbles off his lap and catches herself on the arm of the couch, her skirt falling back down her thighs.
“What the fuck, Axl?” She shoves her hair out of her face and glares at me. “Don’t tell me you’re jealous now when you’re still fucking that little slut.”
I grip her hair and jerk her head back so her chin is pointed to the ceiling. I angle her head so she’s looking at Saylor. “Apologize to my girl, right fucking now.”
Crew sits up and tucks his dick back into his pants, looking more annoyed about the interruption than anything else. “Dude. I was almost fucking done.”
“You’ll live.” I say to Crew, but I don’t let go of Tracy’s hair. “Now fucking apologize.”
Tracy’s eyes cut to Saylor standing in the doorway. Saylor stares back at her with a deep scowl on her face. My girl looks like she’s ready to claw this bitch’s eyes out, and depending on what she has to say, that might be exactly what happens.
“I’m not apologizing to her,” Tracy spits.
I tighten my grip. “Wrong fucking answer, bitch.” I twist her hair in my hand. “Last chance.”
Tears form in her eyes. Those won’t do shit for me. “Fine. Fuck. I’m sorry. But why is it my fucking fault?”
“You know why. Who told you to be in my room last night?”
Her eyebrows pinch together as confusion takes over her expression. “What do you mean, who told me? You did.”
“I wasn’t in that room, Tracy. I wasn’t even in this building.”
“Bullshit,” she growls. “You texted me. You told me to meet you at your suite while Saylor was gone.” She tries to pull away from my grip, and I hold her in place. “Then you fucked me. Don’t stand here and act like it didn’t happen just because your little girlfriend is upset about it.”
“Show me the text.”
Her mouth opens and then closes. “I deleted it. You told me to.”
“I didn’t tell you shit,” I snap. I let go of her hair, and she stumbles back a step. “Did you hear someone with my voice speak out loud to you? I’ll save you the trouble, because I know you didn’t. I wasn’t fucking there!”
“It was you.” But her voice has lost its edge. She’s looking at Crew now, then back at me, and I can see the doubt creeping in behind her eyes. “Why would someone pretend to be you?”
“Thank you for finally catching the fuck up.” I motion for Saylor to come to me and she does. I wrap my arm around her back and grip her opposite hip, holding her to my side. It’s been too long since I’ve had my hands on my heathen.
“Think, Tracy. The text you got—what number did it come from?”
“It was a blocked number. I don’t have your number anyway, so I wouldn’t have known if it was yours. I just assumed you wanted to make sure Saylor didn’t find out.”
Saylor lunges for her. “So you like fucking other women’s men on the side like a fucking bitch?”
“He’s going to be my husband,” Tracy growls.
Saylor slaps Tracy across the face just before I pull her back. I don’t care if she beats the fuck out of the bitch, but I need answers.
“Get it through your head. There is no arrangement. I’m not marrying you.” I pin Saylor to my side while she glares at Tracy. “Did my father tell you to get between Saylor and me?”
“He told me the arrangement was real and that you’d come around. That I just needed to be patient and make myself available.” She’s looking at the floor now, her face red where Saylor slapped her. “When I got the text, I thought you finally wanted me.”
I look at Crew. He’s watching Tracy with his arms crossed, his expression unreadable. I know he doesn’t give a shit about her. Kase is leaning forward with his elbows on his knees, listening.
I turn back to Tracy. She’s standing there with her arms wrapped around herself, looking smaller than I’ve ever seen her. Part of me knows she was used. Someone played her the same way they played Saylor. But she wanted to hurt my girl.
“Stay the fuck away from Saylor. And if my father contacts you again, you fucking tell me. Immediately.”
She doesn’t respond. She sits back down on the couch and stares at the floor.
I pull Saylor from the room and lead her up upstairs to our suite. The first thing I have to do is change the door code.
“Memorize this.” I punch it in and make her watch. “Don’t give it to anyone. Don’t let anyone see you enter it. Not Kynlee, not Justin, not anyone.”
She nods. “Do you think your father did this?”
“I don’t know. But whoever was in this room likely lives here. Which means if it was my father, he’s got other friends here. My father wouldn’t have been able to sneak in here and fuck Tracy himself.”
She wraps her arms around her waist and looks at our bed. The sheets have been changed and the bed is made, but she’s staring at it like she’s replaying what she’d walked in on.
“Hey.” I turn her face to me. “Don’t, baby.”
She leans into my chest, and I hold her there. Her mind and body are exhausted from everything that’s happened. I haven’t slept all night, and I’m going to spend today with her, giving her whatever she needs.
But something in the way she’s holding onto me feels off. She believes me about Tracy. I know that. There’s something else on my girl’s mind, and I need her to tell me what it fucking is.
