12. Diamond
DIAMOND
He fills me so full. His dick is so damn perfect. I wasn’t lying when I said he tasted like a dream. He does. I don’t think I could ever get my fill of him.
I press my palms against his chest as he lifts my body up and down. I tip my head back, enjoying every sensation. He sits up slightly, enough to cover my nipple with his mouth, and I let him. He’s right, I love my tits being played with, and Nash has a real fucking knack for it.
I’m so slippery, it’s embarrassing, but he doesn’t seem to mind. I slide up and down his huge cock, feeling every vein, every ridge, every thrust. I’m addicted to this man.
Maybe I knew it that first day, and that’s why I gave him such a hard time. The chemistry between us is undeniable. I know that now, and I don’t want to fight it. I want so much more.
The emotions bubbling inside stun me. I’m not like this. I don’t get attached. Granted, I haven’t had a guy in my bed for a while, but when I did, it was just sex. Nothing serious. But with Nash? It feels so different. Like I could build a life with him.
Am I crazy? I barely know him.
“I want it, baby,” he groans, watching my every move as he flops onto the mattress. “I want all of it, too.”
I glance down at him, my eyes narrowing. “You can read minds as well?”
His lips twitch. “No, but I seem to be able to read your body language.” He caresses my skin so softly, so perfectly, not like the brute who just threw me down on the bed—don’t get me wrong, I love that version of him, too.
Love.
Oh, jeez. I think we just flew way past complicated. I ride him harder, trying to shut out the thoughts invading my mind. This is supposed to be just sex. Nothing more.
But I know I’m kidding myself. This was never only about sex. Not with Nash.
“So good,” I cry out, slamming down harder. His grip on my hips tightens, and then we’re fucking. It’s so hard, so tight, so good, it borders on painful—but in all the right ways.
“Nash!” I cry.
“That’s it, baby. Scream my name.”
I do, coming undone as he rides me through it, but Nash isn’t done. Oh no, not by a long shot.
He rolls us over again, and I wrap my legs around his waist as he shifts, his palms on either side of my head. “You have no clue how fucking perfect you are, Diamond, do you?”
He shunts his hips, still thrusting hard, but the pace has slowed. I know he’s trying to drag out his next orgasm. I wish I could say the same.
I reach for him, cupping one side of his face. “I’m falling for you,” I blurt.
His eyes widen slightly. “I’ve already fallen, and not just because we’re good in bed together.”
It’s hard for me, being this vulnerable, but he deserves to know the truth—why I’m broken—before he ventures into anything serious.
“Then show me,” I breathe.
He does just that, leaning down to kiss my lips as he lifts me slightly, entering me so deeply, I know I won’t last. He’s hitting my G-spot so perfectly that I can’t even think straight.
“Fuck, Diamond,” he grunts. “That feels so good, baby.”
And usually? I fucking hate pet names, but not with Nash. With him it’s different.
He can call me anything he wants when we’re like this. I’ll gladly take it.
Suddenly, the tempo changes. He drops to his forearms, caging me in, his hips slow to a rhythm that sends me dizzy.
Making love.
I never liked slow sex; it was too sappy, too intimate, too fucking much. But yet again, Nash changes every preconceived notion I thought I had.
“Falling for you could be the best thing I’ve ever done,” I whisper.
His eyes, fixed on me, crinkle at the sides as he smiles. “I know I’ll never get sick of this, D, of you. How could I?”
“Why?” I ask. “I’m impatient. Rude. I’m set in my ways. I don’t like authority—”
“But you’re also warm, kind-hearted, and you have a spirit that shows in everything you do.”
I’m speechless. He sees me. He really sees me. He gets me in a way that no man ever has before, and I barely know him.
The words almost slip out. Almost. But I can’t let them, not yet.
Not until we work out what the heck we are.
I made such a song and dance about us not being a thing, but here I am, totally vulnerable, and the world didn’t cave in on me.
If anything, it lifted. This dark cloud that hung over me for so long… it’s clearing.
“Stay with me,” he whispers.
It’s then I realize my eyes are closed. They snap open, and I wrap my arms around his neck.
“I could get so lost in you,” I admit. “That scares me.”
“Nothin’ to be scared of.” He continues our slow dance, and I hold on for dear life as my orgasm takes over. Maybe it’s the proximity. The intensity. The connection. I don’t know, but I can’t stop it.
He speeds up ever so slightly, and I revel in watching him come at the same time I do. My arms tighten around him as I fall. He stills, then pumps me full. Hot streams of his release make me shudder, and goosebumps rise over my skin as he grunts out my name.
He strokes my face, peppering me with kisses.
“That was amazing,” I breathe.
“What were you thinking when you got lost there?”
“A lot of things.”
“About us not being a thing?”
I smile despite myself. “Clearly, I was lying through my teeth.” I take a breath, unsure what he’ll say when I tell him the truth about my past. “But there’s something I need to tell you that may change the way you feel about me.”
His eyebrows raise. “Don’t tell me you have a husband stashed somewhere?”
I roll my eyes. “Very funny.” I’ve never told a living soul, aside from my club. “When I was twenty-six years old, my daughter was taken from me.”
He blinks in surprise. “You have a daughter?”
I nod. “They said I was an unfit mother. My ex, he planted drugs and made up lies about me, but none of it was true. He did it to hurt me. They took my baby away. When I saw you with Charlotte—” Tears leak from my eyes at my confession.
“Yes, I spied on you after our first encounter, and I’m sorry for that, but she reminded me so much of Annalise when she was that age. ”
I don’t know what I expected, but he brushes away the tears with his thumbs. “I would never judge you because of your past, Diamond. I know the system is set up to fail the vulnerable, especially women. I know you have a good heart. I believe every word you said.”
“You don’t have to just say that because you’re still inside me.”
“I’m not,” he says, lifting himself slightly. His blue eyes shine in the darkened room. “Exes can be shitty people. I hope he got what was coming to him.”
“He did,” I say, “but it took years and the help of Bane from the Ridgehaven Hellions. I finally got her back, but she was a teenager by then. I’ll never forgive myself. I guess that’s why I’ve pushed away whoever got too close. I was scared.”
His eyes soften. “How is your relationship with her now?”
I smile softly. “It’s fantastic. She holds no grudges, and she understands. I still remember the day he took her. There wasn’t a thing I could do about it. If I’d have known sooner, I would’ve run away with her.”
“The love you have for a child is different,” he says quietly. “There is nothing you won’t do to keep them safe, but you have to forgive yourself. What matters is the present, not the past.”
“You’re right, but it’s taken me a long time to come to terms with that.
I really thought you having a daughter and being on the outs with your ex—” I pause, swallowing sheepishly.
“I thought you’d believe the lies… It’s still on my record, though it was all false.
I fought hard, but with Annalise? I had to go through the legal channels. Hiring a hitman wouldn’t cut it.”
“I’m glad you got her back,” he says. “I’d love you to meet my little girl.”
My eyes blink in surprise. “Really?”
He pecks me on the lips. “You have to meet her sometime, right?”
I wrap myself around him even tighter. “Did anyone ever tell you you’re quite the smooth talker?”
He grins. “Like I said before, I’ve been called worse.”
