Chapter 8

The Dream-Eating Mo's cry shattered the Dream Bubble. It chirped twice and dashed toward the area where Sa'er was locked up.

I followed and found the figure on the single bed curled into a tight ball.

Sa'er's forehead was covered in cold sweat. He huddled like someone starved for safety.

I touched his forehead. It was burning hot.

The side effects of the special bullet shouldn't be this strong.

The Dream-Eating Mo spat out another Dream Bubble for me. It was Sa'er's dream again.

But this time the scene was hard to describe.

In the dream, Sa'er was kneeling, bound with red ropes. The vivid color stood out sharply against his pale skin.

His eyes were red at the corners, peach-blossom eyes misty with desire. He crawled on his knees toward a woman sitting with crossed legs.

Her face was blurred. The high heels looked familiar.

Was his heat period triggered early because of the injury?

I waved the image away, lifted Sa'er onto my shoulder, and carefully placed him into the bathtub.

The moment cold water submerged him, his eyes flew open, but he didn't seem fully conscious.

Sa'er grabbed the hem of my clothes. "Don't go..."

"Are you asking me to stay?"

He was soaking wet, clutching my hand and trying to climb up.

"So hot..."

Sa'er pressed his face into my palm and rubbed against it gently.

So obedient.

My heart softened again.

"Tell me what you want."

Sa'er's eyes were hazy. His lower body uncontrollably transformed into a fish tail that wrapped around my waist. "I want you to stay."

His eyes were covered in mist. It was hard to say no to him.

I sat on the edge of the bathtub and patted his tail. Sa'er paused in confusion, then retracted the poisonous spines on his tail spike.

"Help me."

He pitifully grabbed my hand and guided it toward the inside of his ventral fin, making me hold his fin foot.

I didn't move. Instead, I lifted his chin with one hand. "Will you behave?"

Sa'er lay on my lap and coaxed, "I will. I'll be very obedient."

I tapped his nose. "Good boy."
