Chapter Twelve. #2

Mitch obediently trailed as Jess dragged him through the castle, into her apartment, and into the bathroom. “Here. Shower. I’ll fetch some towels and clean clothes.”

Jess ignored how his laugh followed her out.

She entered the living room and discovered everyone in there.

“Leon, you’re the same size as Mitch. He needs clothing and nothing tacky.

I understand what you’re like. Where’s Andie?

I want Mitch checked for infection. I’m unsure why the rest of you are here. ” Jess folded her arms and glared.

“Because, Jess, whether we like him or not, your mate is injured, and that means we support you until we know he’s okay!” Vladimir replied.

“Jase!” Willow shrieked. Everyone turned as she rushed in. “Balius escaped!”

“What the ever-living fuck!” Mitch roared from the vicinity of the bathroom. Jase and Willow both rushed forward with Jess right behind them.

Guess they found Balius.

Mitch

Mitch was in the middle of shampooing his hair for the third time.

Would he ever feel clean again? An object slapped his leg, and at first, Mitch ignored it, thinking the towel had fallen.

But as he finished rinsing, something wrapped around his leg, and Mitch froze.

It felt like a miniature tentacle, but it couldn’t be.

He glanced down and yelled before he realised it.

A tiny replica of the creature who’d attacked him sat fully clothed in the shower tray with two tentacles wrapped around his calf. Huge eyes stared up at him as they tried to figure each other out. Mitch covered himself with his hands immediately.

The bathroom door burst open, and Jase Monroe, with his wife, Willow, rushed in. Jase threw open the shower door. He scowled and began to bend for the miniature version of him when he paused, realised Mitch was naked, and backed away.

“Willow, get Balius,” he said. Willow looked at him, amused, and bent down close to Mitch’s cock.

Mitch pressed back against the shower walls as Jase hauled his wife away and eyed Mitch balefully. Clearly he didn’t want his wife close to his naked body either.

“Will you get it off me? I think it’s determining whether it wants to eat me,” Mitch snapped as Balius licked his lips.

“You’re naked, I’m not bending down in front of you! And that’s my son, not an it!” Jase snapped.

“Yeah, like I’ll poke you in the ear with my dick, freaking idiot,” Mitch retorted.

Willow-eyed Mitch and grinned. “Oh wow, lucky girl, lucky, lucky girl,” Willow said, taking in Mitch in all his glory as he waved his hand agitated. Mitch tried to cover himself again.

Jase started scowling as Jess pushed through and stopped dead. Quickly, she bent and unwrapped the tentacles from Mitch’s leg and handed Balius over. Jase covered the child’s eyes, and Mitch smirked and moved his hands from his cock to salute Jess happily.

“O – M – G. That thing is huge!” Jess gasped as she took a second look at Mitch. Mitch grinned as he twitched his cock. Jess’s eyes followed, her mouth in a rounded O.

“Don’t do that near my wife!” Jase bellowed.

“What the hell are you still doing here?” Mitch shouted.

“Cover yourself up!” Jase roared.

“You’re interrupting my shower, you damn idiot. I didn’t waltz out naked, but if you want me to…” Mitch let the threat hang.

From beyond the door, several female voices agreed that Mitch needed to come out, while the men bellowed denials. Jase grabbed Willow, who was still staring and then winked at Jess and leaving.

Balius poked his tongue out as his father carried him out.

“Want to wash my back?” Mitch murmured, and Jess’s lady parts clenched. She was already wet, and not from the shower.

“Balius is one of the triplets. Duris and Raisa might be hiding too,” she said, but didn’t move. She was too busy drinking Mitch in. He was muscled in all the right places. His chest had a scattering of hair. Mitch had a definite six-pack, and maybe even an eight-pack, if he did say so himself.

“Triplets?” Mitch demanded, gazing around with wide eyes. The moment was over, and his dick began deflating, and Jess laughed. She shut the shower door again.

“Finish your shower; I’ll check for them.” Moments later, she left, carrying Raisa and Duris out.

Mitch

They were all lunatics. Clearly, their longevity had screwed up their minds.

First, a baby had assaulted him. Followed by being ogled by Willow and Jase, and then two more children invaded his privacy.

Then he had an audience waiting outside like he was the star in their personal strip club.

Although with the look in Jess’s eyes, he knew she liked what she’d seen very much.

He entered Jess’s bedroom and discovered clothes on the bed. Mitch quickly dressed, noting they fitted well, and headed back into the main room. There, he found Jess and a couple of others, including Andie.

“Come and sit down, Mitch, I’ll wrap your wound,” Andie said with a warm smile.

“Thanks.” Mitch’s gaze located Jess, and she seemed okay, so he reined in his misgivings and took a seat.

“Mitch. I’m Maeve, who is known as Baba Yaga.

These here, make up the board that runs our community.

You have Liadun, whom you know as Banshee.

Rhett is Dullahan, or Headless Horseman, as he’s famous for.

Lily is Lilith and Marie, whom you have encountered in her Mary Worth form.

Killian is Phantom, and you’ve met Jase Monroe, who is Poseidon, and finally, we have Vladimir, who is also Vampire. ”

“What’s that thing you turn into?” Mitch demanded of Jase.

“I can shift into Jase, Uber-Merman, and Poseidon. Uber-Merman is Poseidon’s warrior side,” Jase explained after a dark look from Maeve.

“This is Tisiphone; she runs another community.”

“Griffin answers to me, as does Chimera. I apologise for what they did,” Tisiphone said.

“Why? Their actions were not yours,” Mitch replied.

“As leader, I take responsibility,” Tisiphone stated.

“Apology accepted. Now, what the hell is happening? My uncle attacked that restaurant and was aiming for me. I need to get home, have that stupid fuck arrested and jailed for life,” Mitch said and winced as Pandora pressed on a sore part of his ribs.

“You’re going to expose Clifton—oh yeah, we know who he is,” Vladimir replied.

“I plan to send that fucker down until the day he dies. He’ll never see outside of a cell again. Of all of the Weidemans, Clifton is a bastard who gets hard hurting people,” Mitch said crudely.

“He’s one of the worst. Clifton Weideman is an animal,” Vladimir hissed.

“Not going to disagree. And Clifton’s cruelty wasn’t just aimed at you. Nobody is off-limits with that psycho,” Mitch said.

“You’re planning to take him down,” Killian guessed.

“I am about to throw Clifton’s whole past out into the open.

The cops will have to arrest him. Some families will finally get an answer to what happened to their loved ones,” Mitch snarled and then deflated.

Many grieving families would be affected.

Mitch couldn’t help them all, but he’d get Clifton off the streets.

“It seems suspicious that you’ve met Jess and grown a conscience,” Rhett stated.

“Guess to you that is what it looks like. I’ve not been a part of them since I was eighteen.

I walked away with an insurance policy so that I could live free from their bullshit.

Selfish as that might be, but I was a teenager without support.

There’s only one person I could rely on: Diarmad.

And he threw himself off a cliff to ensure his family couldn’t use him,” Mitch retorted.

“What a shame, one less Hunter to torture us,” Jase sneered.

“When a twelve-year-old boy jumps down from a cliff to deliberately screw up his legs, that says something. Don’t judge Diar until you’ve walked in his shoes.

My family are fucked up; his went beyond that.

They want a higher ranking and were prepared to do whatever was needed.

Diar wasn’t, and to save himself from being forced into hunting innocents, Diar deals with constant pain,” Mitch snapped.

“Mitch,” Jess murmured, looking sad as she placed a hand on his arm.

“It’s fine. You’ve seen Diar, he’s happy,” Mitch instantly sought to reassure Jess.

“But a child?” Jess said with tears in her eyes.

Mitch pulled her close and rubbed her back. “Diar survived and lives free. My blackmail includes protection for him, too.” Mitch looked over her head and glowered. “You guys do what’s necessary to survive. Diar and I did no less.”

“We need to talk,” Maeve stated. “We have one of us missing. Gargoyle, have you seen him?”

Mitch frowned as he racked his brains. “I don’t think so, but it sounds familiar. There might be something in my records?”

“We’ll check them.”

Rhett threatened, “If we find out that you—”

Jess spun in his hold, and Mitch refused to let her go. He wrapped his arms firmly around her.

“If my mate isn’t welcome, then I’m not either. Don’t bother making a decision; I’ll make it for you. Mitch and I will leave.”

“Jess! No!” Rhett exclaimed. “We’re trying to protect you. Mitch seems genuine, but he’s from Hunter stock. We can’t rely on him.

“And Emmaline arrived with three wounded shifters, and you threw her in prison. Mac was thought to be public enemy number one, and now Mitch is. You guys don’t need to trust him; only I do.”

“And what if Mitch creates another plague?” Vladimir demanded, and Jess paled.

“You’ll get to crow about how right you proved yourself and how foolish I was, yet again.”

With that, Jess grabbed Mitch’s hand and dragged him away. The board followed them, but Jess raced for the tower and stormed through her mirror, taking him with her.
