Chapter 2 First Glances
The next evening, Riley found himself sitting at the large dining table with the three men for dinner.
Damien had cooked a surprisingly good meal of grilled steak, roasted vegetables, and rice.
The atmosphere was relaxed on the surface, with low music playing in the background, but Riley felt anything but calm.
He kept his eyes mostly on his plate, pushing the food around with his fork while trying not to stare at the powerful men surrounding him.
Damien sat at the head of the table like a natural leader.
His presence alone made the air feel heavier.
Every now and then, Riley could feel Damien’s sharp gaze lingering on him a little longer than necessary.
It wasn’t aggressive, but it was unmistakably observant, as if the older man was studying him, peeling back layers Riley had spent years keeping hidden.
“You’re very quiet, Riley,” Damien said suddenly, his deep voice cutting through the light conversation. “Most people who move in talk our ears off on the first few days. You seem… different.”
Riley’s cheeks warmed instantly. He lifted his eyes for a brief moment before looking down again, his long lashes casting soft shadows on his smooth skin.
“I guess I’m just a little nervous,” he admitted softly.
“This is a big change for me. The house is beautiful, though. And you all seem really… confident.”
Kane smirked from across the table, while Lex leaned back in his chair with an amused expression. Damien, however, kept his focus entirely on Riley. There was something in the way he watched him that made Riley’s pulse quicken. It wasn’t just curiosity. It felt like recognition.
“You don’t need to be nervous here,” Damien continued, his tone gentle but carrying undeniable authority. “We take care of the people who live under this roof. All you have to do is be honest with us. Tell us what you need. What you want.”
The words sent a shiver down Riley’s spine.
He shifted slightly in his seat, suddenly very aware of how his soft thighs pressed together under the table.
His feminine features — the gentle curve of his neck, the delicate line of his jaw, the way his hair fell across his forehead — felt more exposed than ever under Damien’s steady gaze.
He could feel arousal beginning to stir, warm and unwelcome in this moment, making his breathing a little shallower.
As dinner continued, Riley tried to participate more in the conversation, but his voice remained soft and hesitant.
Every time one of the men addressed him directly, especially Damien, he felt that familiar pull deep in his stomach.
The nervousness mixed with a growing, secret arousal that made it hard to sit still.
He kept imagining what it would feel like if Damien gave him a real command right there at the table.
The thought made his fingers tremble around his glass.
Damien noticed everything. The way Riley’s cheeks flushed when spoken to.
The slight tremble in his hands. The way his eyes dropped submissively whenever their gazes met for too long.
A small, knowing smile touched Damien’s lips as he watched the younger man.
He could see it clearly — the natural submission, the hidden hunger, the delicate beauty that begged to be controlled and cherished.
Riley was exactly the kind of boy they had been waiting for.
By the end of dinner, Riley’s mind was spinning. He helped clear the table quietly, moving with graceful, almost dainty steps that only made the three men watch him more closely. When he finally excused himself to his room, claiming he was tired, Damien’s voice followed him gently down the hallway.
“Sleep well, Riley. We’ll see you in the morning.”
Riley closed his bedroom door and leaned against it, breathing heavily. His body was warm, his thoughts chaotic with desire and fear. He had never felt so exposed in his life, and yet part of him desperately wanted to be seen. Completely seen.
Damien’s observant eyes had already begun to uncover the truth Riley had tried so hard to hide. And something told him that it was only the beginning.
Kane leaned against the kitchen counter the following morning, arms crossed over his broad chest as he watched Riley move around the open space.
The boy was trying so hard to appear normal, but Kane could see right through him.
There was a natural delicacy in the way Riley reached for a mug, the gentle sway in his step, and the way his long lashes lowered whenever he thought someone was watching him too closely.
Kane had always been good at reading people, especially those with submissive tendencies. And Riley was practically radiating it.
“Riley,” Kane said, his voice deep and casual. “Hand me that coffee mug on the top shelf. The black one.”
It was a simple request, but Kane made sure his tone carried just enough weight to sound like an order rather than a question.
He observed carefully as Riley hesitated for only a second before moving toward the cabinet.
The younger man had to stretch slightly, causing his shirt to ride up and reveal a strip of smooth, pale skin at his waist. Kane’s eyes darkened with interest.
When Riley turned and handed him the mug, there was a faint flush on his cheeks and a look of quiet satisfaction in his eyes.
Kane took the mug slowly, letting their fingers brush on purpose.
“Good,” he murmured, low enough that only Riley could hear.
The single word of praise made Riley’s breath catch visibly.
Kane filed that reaction away with dark satisfaction.
Throughout the morning, Kane continued testing him with small, subtle commands.
“Riley, bring me the newspaper from the table.” “Close that window over there.” “Sit here while I make breakfast.” Each time, Riley obeyed quickly, almost eagerly, though he tried to hide it behind shy politeness.
Kane could see the way the boy’s posture changed slightly whenever he gave an instruction — shoulders softening, head tilting down just a fraction, as if his body instinctively wanted to submit.
At one point, while the others were still upstairs, Kane decided to push a little further.
He was standing behind Riley in the kitchen as the boy reached for something in a lower cabinet.
Kane’s large hand came to rest lightly on Riley’s lower back, not quite pushing, but definitely guiding.
“A little lower,” he said quietly, his voice rough.
Riley froze for a moment, then obeyed, bending further.
The tremble in his slender frame told Kane everything he needed to know.
The boy was aroused. Nervous, but unmistakably turned on by being directed.
Kane stepped back before it became too obvious, but the image of Riley bent over, following his command so naturally, stayed burned in his mind.
He had always enjoyed breaking down pretty boys like this — turning their shyness into complete, mindless obedience.
Watching Riley’s eager submission was already becoming addictive.
When Damien and Lex finally joined them for breakfast, Kane caught Damien’s eye and gave a small, meaningful nod.
The message was clear. Riley was perfect.
The kind of boy who didn’t just tolerate control — he craved it.
Kane could already imagine how beautiful Riley would look completely stripped of choice, dressed up like a doll, standing perfectly still while they admired their new possession.
Riley sat quietly at the table during breakfast, stealing glances at all three of them when he thought they weren’t looking. Kane smiled to himself as he ate. The boy had no idea how closely he was being watched. Or how much they were already planning to claim him.
The subtle tests had confirmed what Kane suspected from the first moment he saw Riley. This delicate, feminine boy was going to look exquisite once they started turning him into their perfect doll. And Kane couldn’t wait to be the one who pushed him the hardest.
