Chapter 2 #2

When I scene, my sweep of the room stops. Marion is under my hands. Marion gets my full attention. That's the agreement, spoken and unspoken.

"Color."

"Green."

The blindfold goes on first. I settle it against her temples, check the fit, and secure the strap.

The darkness changes her. Her inhale deepens. Her lips part on the exhale, and the line of her spine softens into a curve that wasn't there when she could see me.

Without sight, she has permission to stop managing and start receiving. Twice a month she comes here and hands the control to me. The speed of tonight's surrender says her week was worse than usual.

"The shorts."

She hooks her thumbs into the waistband and slides them down without hesitation. Steps out of them and returns to position, the corset framing her waist while everything below is bare.

The exposure is complete and deliberate. The slight catch in her breathing when the air meets bare skin tells me she's already anticipating where the crop will land.

I position her. Hands on the bench, fingers spread, weight forward. "Don't move your hands."

She nods.

The first tap lands on the outside of her thigh. She doesn't flinch. The second is higher. The third is sharper. It draws a response from her, small and earned, from a woman who knows what she wants and doesn't waste energy pretending otherwise.

The crop traces from outer thigh to hip. Each stroke harder than the last, and the tension across her back loosens by degrees. Her body is telling me she wants more before her voice does.

I give her more. The leather shifts to the inside of her thigh, and the dynamic changes. Her thighs part wider, opening toward the contact. She's flushed and swollen between them, slick enough to catch the low light.

"Wider," I tell her.

She obeys. The sound she gives me drops lower, rawer, the place where pain crosses into arousal and she's stopped caring which is which. She rocks against the bench.

When you can't see the stroke coming, you can't brace. When you can't brace, what surfaces is honest.

I'm hard. I've been hard since her thighs parted.

I pause. Let the silence press against her skin the way the last stroke did. She waits, taut, trembling. I hold my palm an inch above her hip and feel the warmth rising off her.

I lay the crop against the curve of her ass without impact. Let her feel the leather. She exhales hard, ragged with want.

I draw the tip in a slow arc from ass to inner thigh, and she tilts toward the contact. She's wet enough that the slickness has spread to the skin of her inner thighs.

"You're dripping, Marion."

She moans. The sound is raw, stripped of everything professional and controlled. Her fingers claw at the padding.

Two strokes in succession, placed close enough that the second builds on the first. She cries out. The noise carries across the scening area.

And the thought arrives: what would Natalie sound like?

I kill it. I'm here. Marion is here. Nobody else belongs in this room.

My grip on the crop has tightened. A fraction more than the scene requires. I adjust. Check my breathing, which is running faster than I set it.

My cock is still straining against my leathers, and the woman responsible for that is blindfolded on the bench, trusting me with every breath she takes. But the woman who just walked into my head uninvited is sitting at the bar. That she got in at all means my walls aren't where I left them.

"Color."

"Green." Barely formed. Thick, past thinking.

My hand replaces the crop. I press my palm flat against the skin I've been working. The impact radiates through my fingers. She leans into the pressure, grinding forward in a slow roll. I hold her there and let her take what she needs.

Orgasm isn't tonight's objective. She didn't ask for it. The shaking in her legs says she's taken exactly what she came for.

I ease the intensity in reverse. Decreasing pressure, lengthening pauses, the crop replaced by my hand, then by the cool cloth I brought from the supply station.

The blindfold comes off last. Marion blinks in the amber light, pupils blown, loose and heavy with satisfaction. The flush on her throat and the tremor still running through her legs say the rest.

"Good?" Always a real question.

"Very." She stretches against the padding, long and slow. "Same time?"

"Same time."

Aftercare is brief because Marion doesn't want more. She knows herself, knows the scene, knows the protocol. I hand her the boy shorts and she steps into them while I bring the water and the cool cloth. The cloth goes on her wrists and inner thighs where the sting lingers.

The marks on her thighs are already rising, pink lines she'll feel under her clothes tomorrow. A few minutes of quiet while her breathing settles and the flush recedes.

"You're wound tighter than usual tonight," she says, pulling her hair down. Not an accusation. An observation from a woman who's been reading my tension through a blindfold for over a year.

"I'm exactly as wound as I always am."

"Sure you are." She finishes her water and sets the bottle down. "Whoever she is, she's already won an argument you haven't started yet. That's new."

I don't ask how she knows. A year of scenes gives a woman data she doesn't need to explain.

She touches my arm on her way past. The touch is gratitude, not intimacy. We both understand the difference.

I return to the booth. The glass is where I left it. I pick it up. Don't drink.

Natalie hasn't moved. But she's sitting differently than before the scene. Her weight is forward on the stool, the careful containment stripped away.

One hand is wrapped around her glass. The other is pressed flat against her thigh. What she saw me do to Marion left something behind she hadn't planned to carry.

She didn't leave. That registers. An inexperienced woman sitting through an impact scene for the first time could have looked away, moved to the lounge, decided this world wasn't for her.

Natalie stayed through it, and whatever conclusion she's reaching has nothing to do with her research. Her posture says she didn't merely endure it.

Her gaze is no longer systematic. The cross-referencing has stopped. She's looking at the scening area I just vacated.

The expression on her face is one I recognize. I've seen it on women discovering they want something they didn't know they wanted. Most of them don't fight it this hard. Natalie is white-knuckling her composure like it owes her money.

Then she looks at me.

She doesn't drop her gaze when I catch her. She holds it across the room, and the impact hits low in the gut.

She's here for something she hasn't found yet. What she felt during Marion's scene is still running through her. The containment has come back, but it's wearing thin.

Then she looks away. Her chin dips toward her drink in a gesture her body understands even if she doesn't.

The arousal I managed through Marion's scene shifts and refocuses. I don't look away from the place where her chin dropped.

She can rationalize it later. Convert it into data. File it in whatever system she's running. The body answered before the system did. I saw it.

I want to be the one who shows her what that answer means. And the wanting is the problem.

I've built every rule I operate by for a reason. I don't scene with members I haven't vetted exhaustively. I don't take responsibility for a submissive who hasn't reckoned with what she's asking. I don't collar. And I don't let the room disappear around one person.

I learned what a blind spot costs at Elysium. A woman died in a room I wasn't looking at, and I didn't understand what I'd missed until it was too late. Natalie is becoming one.

Every rule I've built exists for a reason. It won't be long before I'm going to break the most important one.
