Chapter 8 #2

My own arousal is an ache that's becoming harder to set aside. I want to bury myself inside her until neither of us can think. I'm choosing not to because this scene isn't about what I want. Not yet.

"You don't come until I tell you." My voice is rougher than I intend. "Nod if you understand."

She nods. Jerky. Desperate. The motion makes the ruby swing.

I push two fingers inside her. She clenches around me, tight and slick. I curl forward. Find the spot that makes her whole body seize against the bindings.

"Sebastien." My name breaks out of her, unplanned.

"Again."

"Sebastien." Closer to a plea.

My jaw tightens. The sound of my name in that register hits a nerve I have to consciously override.

I've maintained discipline through scenes that would test any Dom at this club. This woman saying my name like a prayer she didn't mean to offer is costing me more than all of them combined.

"Listen to yourself." I press deeper. She gasps. "This wet. This tight. My rope did this to you."

She starts to tighten. The bindings strain against the knots. Her breathing has gone shallow and ragged. She's close.

I stop.

She makes a sound that is pure need, stripped of language. Her hips buck against the harness, chasing contact that isn't there anymore.

"Not yet." I hold my fingers still inside her. Fullness without friction. "When I decide."

Her head drops forward. The collar glints in the amber light. The ruby pendant swings with her breathing. A line of sweat traces down her spine between the rope lines.

I wait. Let the denial burn.

Then I lean in. My lips graze the curve where her neck meets her shoulder, just above the collar. The contact is barely there. She shivers harder than she did when I put my hand between her thighs.

"You're trying to stay ahead of me," I murmur against her skin. "You've been trying all night." My thumb finds her clit and circles. Slow. "Stop."

Not a command. An invitation. The quietest thing I've said since the scene started, and it lands differently from the commands. The commands told her what to do with her body. This tells her what to do with the part of her that won't stop calculating.

She makes a sound that's closer to a sob than a moan.

I keep the pressure steady. My mouth stays against her neck, my breath on the skin above the leather. I'm giving her what the rope can't: the knowledge that the man behind the technique is here. Present and specific to her.

Watching her come apart in my rope is dismantling the structure I've built around myself. The same structure that let me sit in a booth for five years and watch a room without losing a step. Natalie is pulling it apart from the inside.

The second build is faster. She knows the path now. Her body has learned the rhythm of denial and return, and the learning has bypassed every defense she walked in with.

Then something changes.

She stops chasing the rhythm. Stops bracing for denial. Stops trying to anticipate what I'll do next.

She waits.

Everything goes quiet. Not with tension but with stillness. She's stopped managing the outcome and given the choice to me. Not because the binding leaves her no option. Because she's decided to.

There.

The space between compliance and surrender.

"Come for me, Natalie."

She shatters. The orgasm tears through her with a force that pulls every binding taut. Her back arches hard against the rope. Her wrists strain behind her. The sound that rips free is raw, guttural, nothing she studied or prepared for.

She pulses around my fingers in waves, each contraction harder than the last, her walls gripping and releasing in a rhythm I can feel in my wrist. The thigh bindings keep her open. The hip harness keeps her upright.

Her knees buckle. I'm already there, one arm around her waist, taking her weight before the bindings have to. I hold her against me while the last tremor passes and she goes boneless in my arms.

The room is quiet except for her breathing.

My hand is shaking when I withdraw it. My fingers are slick to the wrist. I can't remember the last time a scene left me shaking.

I untie the bindings in reverse order. Thighs, hips, the pattern across her back, the upper arms. The wrist tie comes last.

Each release lifts pressure, and the marks the rope leaves are even and precise. Red lines that will fade by morning.

She sways when the final binding releases. I catch her. She leans into me, and I let her stay there for a breath before guiding her to the leather chair. The blanket goes around her shoulders. I settle in front of her, close enough that my hands can reach hers.

Her wrists carry the marks of the column tie, symmetrical lines pressed into her skin.

I take her hands and work circulation back into her fingers, pressing my thumbs along the tendons. Her hands are warm. Her fingers curl loosely around mine.

I've done first scenes before. I've never had one where the shift from performance to genuine surrender was this visible, this complete, or this fast.

"Anything hurt?"

She tries to answer. Tries to assemble a clinical response, the kind she uses to reconstruct distance after someone gets too close. The words don't come. She shakes her head.

I press a plastic water bottle into her hands. Her fingers aren't steady. I close my hand around hers on the bottle and hold it until the trembling settles enough for her to drink.

The stillness is new. Natalie is never still like this, not inside herself. I track her breathing until it slows. Color still sits high on her skin.

Her right hand rises. Fingers travel to the collar and stay. She touches the braided leather the way someone touches a thing they didn't know they needed.

I've had submissives reach for me in aftercare. For my hands, my arm, the blanket. Marion would lean into the contact and then straighten, composure rebuilt in the time it took to finish a glass of water.

None of them reached for a collar I'd given them and held it like an anchor.

Natalie holds the collar like she's found something she lost. I've never given anyone a collar to find before.

The woman underneath the performance exists. She's more than the performance promised.

When her breathing is steady and the water bottle is half empty, I move to the chair across from her. The scotch is on the table between us, poured before the scene, untouched through all of it. The glass sweats in the low light.

I see the tension creeping back into her system as she shifts the evening's weight and asks me if there is something I expect from her as if this were a transaction and she needed to reciprocate.

“That'll come another time. Tonight was about your experience.”

I watch as the tension evaporates and she reaches for her phone on the side table.

Not a casual scroll through notifications.

A targeted look at the screen. She reads whatever's on it.

Her expression doesn't change, but the quality of her stillness does.

The subspace recedes. A sharper focus takes its place.

She closes the screen and puts the phone face-down before looking at me again. The transition is fast enough that most people wouldn't read it.

I'm not most people.

"Everything all right?"

"Fine." The word arrives with a smile that doesn't quite match the rest of her face. "Just checking the time."

She wasn't checking the time.

I let it go. Asking is the wrong approach for a woman who manages the distance between what she shows and what she carries.

By the time she's talking again, I see the rest. She starts a question about a former member and then circles away from the name she intended to say. When her phone vibrates once against the table, her mouth tightens and she doesn’t look at it.

Individually, nothing. Together, a woman managing information she doesn't want examined.

I've watched a room for five years. I know what concealment looks like when it's practiced and when it's new. Natalie's is new.

She's carrying a weight she hasn't told me about. External. Not there, or not pressing this hard, a week ago. She's chosen to manage it alone.

I don't know whether that's because she doesn't trust Dominion with it. Or because she doesn't trust me.

She makes her way to the submissive’s lounge and changes back into street clothes before returning to me.

I remove the collar in the corridor. The click of the lock releasing. The leather lifting away. She reaches for the bare skin at her throat.

Her gaze moves over the block before she gets into the car. Parked cars. Sidewalk. The mouth of the side street. I've watched her leave before. She didn't do that last time.

"Lock your doors."

The same instruction I gave her last time. She gives me the same answer.

"I always lock my doors."

"Lock them anyway."

She drives away. I watch the taillights until they turn the corner.

I return to the club. Back inside, I retrieve the scotch from the private room. Take the booth. Sit with the glass and sort through what I learned tonight.

She surrendered. Genuinely. The space between compliance and what I felt when she stopped fighting the outcome is the most honest thing she's given me since the contract.

And she's managing something she won't show me. The two facts sit side by side, and neither one resolves the other.

Marion was right. I think I'm aware, and the distance between thinking it and being it is going to cost me.

I lift the glass. Drain it.

The scotch burns on the way down. I set the empty glass on the table. I can't remember the last time I finished a drink at this club.

The held glass has been a ritual, a pacing mechanism, a way of occupying my hands while I watched a room.

The ritual failed. I don't order another.
