Chapter 27
Chapter twenty-seven
Tressa
“Sheer perfection,” Ethan said, running his tongue along his lips.
Perfect? Tressa thought. Perfect didn’t even begin to describe it. She was fluent in eight languages, and she was pretty sure none of them had a word that came even close to what she had experienced.
She should be feeling shame that she’d given in after telling herself she wasn’t going to, but damn.
Her morals weakened like a vampire in the sun the second he kissed her.
It was all just supposed to be a little fun.
Teasing him with the ice cream on her tits.
She’d wanted to watch him get all red and flustered again before showing her more of that iron willpower he had.
So much for the plan.
Wrapping his hands around her waist, he pulled her off the hood and set her down on unsteady legs. Slowly, he tugged her panties back up and settled them in place around her hips.
“That was incredible, Ethan,” she said breathily, gripping his shirt and dragging him close to press a quick kiss to his lips. “But now I think it’s your turn.”
She still maintained that it wasn’t too bad so long as they didn’t go all the way, and Lilith be damned, she was not going to experience the best orgasm she’d had in three hundred years without offering him the same in return.
Ethan rested his forehead against hers. “You asked me what I wanted, yeah? Trust me when I say I just had it. I’m good.”
She pulled back and ran her hand up and down the impressive bulge straining the front of his pants. “Are you sure? Feels to me like you’re not finished yet.” She increased her pace when she saw his eyes darken.
For all of three seconds.
Ethan took her hand gently and pulled it off his cock.
Wait, did he not want her? What kind of guy ate pussy like a damn champion then called it a day? She could see the evidence in his pants that he clearly needed a release, and she was more than happy to give it to him. Hell, she wanted to give it to him. She was desperate to taste her mate.
So why…?
“Do you not want me?” she asked, hating how meek and vulnerable she sounded. She was a fucking vampire. She’d survived the kinds of things that would break most people. She could handle anything life threw her way and do it with a smile on her face and a song in her heart.
Except this. All it took was her mate stepping back from her to crush her spirit.
“Stop,” Ethan said.
One word. It was only one word, but the steel and command in his voice brought her spiral to a screeching halt.
“Don’t ever think for a fucking second that I don’t want you, Tressa. That couldn’t be further from the truth.”
Okay, he was saying the right things, but…
She dropped her face and scuffed her white sneaker against the ground, drawing a line through the gravel. “So then why…?”
“Hey,” he said, two fingers gently but firmly lifting her chin up so she was forced to look at him.
“After,” he told her, pressing a fleeting kiss to her lips.
“When I finally get to have you, I don’t want a single thought in my head distracting me from worshipping you.
Once I find the vampire and destroy her, that’s when I’ll get to enjoy the rest of my dessert. ”
A shiver ran through her at the way he said “dessert.” She’d definitely been a fan of the ice cream play—the sting of the cold immediately soothed by the heat from his mouth.
“I could get on board with that,” she said, running her hand down his arm and twining her fingers through his. “But that doesn’t change the fact that your engine is all revved up with no room to race.”
Ethan chuckled and brought her hand up to his mouth.
Holding eye contact with her, he dropped his lips to her overheated skin.
“Well, if I haven’t made it clear yet, I’m not like other guys.
I don’t care about going fast. I just want to enjoy the ride.
And Tressa? I more than enjoyed what just happened between us. ”
The heat in his eyes was messing with her, but she would just have to trust him. Trust that he was being truthful, and he really did care more about pleasing her than getting himself off.
Tressa opened her mouth to tell him how incredible he was, but the sound of footsteps crunching through the gravel parking lot made them leap apart.
“Well,” a smooth female voice said. “I almost hate to interrupt such a perfect moment, but then again, I’ve already seen far more than I needed to.”
