34. Naomi #2

Thankfully, she was saved from trying to navigate that awkward conversation when Jax made his way over with a smile.

“Rogue asked me to let you know that he thinks there was an error made today when someone was checking out and he wants you to see if you can fix it.” He snickered.

“Actually, he told me to tell you to get your ass over there and fix whatever it is I fucked up, but we don’t know that it was me. ”

“It was probably you.” Saylor laughed as she came over to give him a kiss. “You’re terrible, and Esme is going to kill you when she’s eventually back in the office.”

He winked at her. “I’m sure I can outrun her, and now that we have Naomi, she’ll be able to hide the evidence.”

“Only if you didn’t royally screw it up,” Naomi joked. “If you did, then I’ll be chasing you too.”

“The ladies love to chase me, so I’m not going to complain.” Jax ignored all their eye rolls at that.

“I’ll head over now. Everything is shut?”

“Everything’s closed, and all customers have left.” He turned. “Karissa, you’re up,” he called. “So stop grinding on your man and get to work.”

Naomi laughed when Karissa flipped off Jax from behind her back. All while kissing Razor like she hadn’t seen him in years, legs wrapped around his waist, and her other hand in his hair.

“I can probably go by myself,” Naomi said. “I’m just going to the shop, so I’ll be fine.”

“No, you need to have a guard, that’s the deal,” Jax reminded her. “Where’s Taz?”

“Probably off planning whatever his new prank will be,” Karissa announced, releasing Razor. “We’ll finish that later,” she promised, with a saucy smile. Razor’s returning stare could only be described as lustful before he finally headed up the stairs.

“He loved your hair that much, huh?” Saylor teased.

“He loves when I do anything to my hair. Says he loves when it wraps around his—”

“Eww, no,” Wren stated.

Everyone chuckled, but Karissa let it drop. “Alright, lead the way, babe,” she told Naomi. “Girls, you’re good with Asher?”

“All good. I texted Scarlett, and she’s awake and making dinner now in the apartment,” Win replied.

Wren scooped Asher into her arms. He didn’t even stir.

“And when he wakes up, we have a new puzzle for him. I found a site that lets you find cool puzzles for kids with higher IQs. He aced the ones I found for him before, and that was for three-to-four-year-olds, so we’re going up to the next one. ”

“We just have to make sure Rogue doesn’t try to spoil this one,” Wren added, rolling her eyes.

As they made their way out, Naomi found herself feeling grateful. The girls never complained about watching him, and seemed to enjoy helping him grow his skills.

“They’re going to make great big sisters,” Karissa murmured as the twins went upstairs and they made their way into the shop.

“They are. I just hope they’re not thinking I’m taking advantage of them. They watch Asher so much.”

“They wouldn’t offer if they didn’t want to,” Karissa pointed out, taking her seat in the waiting room chair, and Naomi sat behind the desk.

“You don’t have to stay in here if you want to spend time with Razor,” Naomi told her. “I doubt anything will happen while I’m here for an hour or so.”

“Nope, that’s not the agreement.”

“You’ll be bored out of your mind.”

“I have a phone and some ordering to do for the bar anyway. I’m fine.”

Naomi shrugged and got to work. Then she cursed when she realized just how much Jax had indeed screwed up. “I hope you have a couple of hours because this is going to take some time to sort. And I’ll have to let the twins know.”

“I’ll send them a message. Don’t worry about it.”

Before long, Naomi was deep into fixing the issue and making sure it wouldn’t happen again. How did the man charge a bunch of parts to a vehicle account that didn’t exist? And how the hell did he create one and also screw up its setup, making it nearly impossible to delete?

She was starting to see why Esme threatened to murder them for touching the computer.

When another error came up on the screen, she cursed again. Followed by a few creative insults in Spanish that she’d learned from the soldiers in Dante’s home.

“I never knew Spanish would sound so sexy coming out of your mouth, baby girl. Do you know any other words you could whisper in my ear?” Ink asked, making her jump.

Her head shot up, and he was standing on the other side of the desk, a wide grin on his face and arms crossed over his chest. Her face flamed, and she turned to glare at Karissa.

Karissa laughed and held up her hands in surrender.

“You were so in the zone, I didn’t dare say a word.

I’ve heard Esme say some of those terms, and I knew better to stay out of the line of fire. ”

Before she could reply, she was yanked up out of her seat, and she let out a screech, which was quickly muffled by Ink’s mouth on hers. Her anger and frustration melted away instantly.

How did he always taste so good?

“Mmm, missed your mouth,” he murmured.

“Just my mouth?” She couldn’t resist kissing him again. Was she always going to be this addicted to him?

“I definitely thought about the way your pussy gripped mine so tight, my dirty girl. Took all my strength not to go into my office and jerk off thinking about it a few times today.”

Her body flushed at the thought. That was really hot.

“Alright, before you start fucking on the desk, I’m going to head out to the roof,” Karissa stated, and Naomi jolted. Karissa winked at her and headed out with a whistle.

Naomi groaned and buried her face in Ink’s chest.

Ink chuckled and eased her back down to her feet. “Don’t be embarrassed, baby. I’m glad you can’t resist me.”

“I’m going to try harder,” she muttered, sinking into her chair.

“We both know that’s not going to happen. Now, how much longer will you be doing the books here? I’m assuming the twins have Asher?”

She nodded. “I don’t know how long I’ll be. I have to fix Jax’s error, and it’s turning into a bigger problem than I thought, but I have one more thing to try. If that doesn’t work … I might have to leave it and come back to it tomorrow.”

“Why doesn’t it surprise me it’s Jax? I’ll go and check on our boy and then I’ll come back down.”

She froze. No, she couldn’t have heard him correctly. “What?”

He got to his feet and arched a brow. “What?”

“You … you called him our boy.”

Ink’s expression didn’t change, but his eyes sharpened.

“I did. Because you and I are doing this, Naomi, and that means I’m claiming you and Asher.

He’s mine. I don’t care about what his beginnings were or that he’s not mine by blood.

He’s yours, he’s a part of you, and that means he’s a part of me now too. ”

She stared at him as he walked out, unsure what to think or how to feel.

It had been less than twenty-four hours, and Ink was moving at warp speed. Any other woman would be so happy, but why was she nervous? Why did she feel like the other shoe was about to drop?
