BONUS SCENE
Jenna tapped her foot in anticipation as she rode the elevator to the penthouse, feeling excitement bubble up in her chest. It had been days since she’d last seen Mark, and she’d missed him more than she’d cared to admit. The elevator doors opened and she stepped inside, the familiar scent of air freshener the housekeeper always used hitting her as she wheeled her carry-on over to sit by the stairs. She knew Mark would carry it up for her later. He was a gentleman like that.
“Anyone home?” Jenna called out as she wandered further into the foyer and toward the hall leading to the living room. The faint hum of a news channel played from the television, and she followed the sound to find Mark sprawled out on the sofa, his eyes half-closed.
