Chapter 13 #5
A spiral of longing gripped my dick and for a second, I thought I’d pin Jade to the bed and kiss him. He glanced down at my crotch and grinned.
“Look, I’m willing to sacrifice myself as your giant, riding stress ball, but don’t tease me like that, mate,” I groaned.
“Giant, riding stress ball,” Jade smirked.
“Whatever you want me to be,” I said, leaning my head closer to him. “Seriously. Like I think we’ve covered the basics, right? Jondi is king, Eran gets to stay around, we’ll be nice to our parents, we both want kids, and I’ll move in with you.”
“Tell me something about you,” Jade said, rolling on his side to face me.
“Like what?” I asked.
“Anything,” Jade said. “I want to know everything about you. I know that’s what everyone says the claiming vows are for, but the ability to have a conversation is sexy. I want to know what’s going on here,” he tapped my forehead, “and here,” he tapped my chest.
“I don’t know who my sire is,” I blurted out the words before I even knew what I was going to say and then instantly regretted it.
“I’m sorry. That must be difficult,” Jade said, taking my hand in his and entwining our fingers. “I want to ask questions, but the answers aren’t my business.”
“I have asked Mum, but she just avoids the question,” I admitted.
“And I know, I’ve never been close to him or I’d have recognized him.
Maybe her. Though, what she tells everyone is that she found a guy to do it, I don’t like thinking about that part, obviously.
I’ve just asked around and a lot of people are straight forward about what she told them.
For a while there was this conspiracy going around that Micah Gilmore was my dad. ”
Jade opened his mouth and shut it.
“No, it’s not him,” I shook my head.
“No, I started to ask if you wanted me to talk to her about it. I mean, we have a good reason to want to know now. If we have kids his medical history could be important,” Jade said.
“I don’t think she’s going to tell me. I think he didn’t want anyone to know. Maybe he didn’t want to raise kids. Maybe he had a family or something. I don’t know but he decided he was okay with making me but he didn’t actually want me.”
Jade frowned and cupped my cheek.
“I’m okay,” I laughed.
“I think you need to talk more about it,” he said, moving so that he could rest his head on my chest. “But just so you know, Jondi and me want you here. I know we’re hectic and maybe a bit out of sorts a lot of the time, but we want you around, if you’ll have us.”
I opened my mouth and shut it again. I unclenched my jaw and let my head sink into the pillow.
“We talked about you here and there since we met. Once he realized why you were following him he sort of got it. Though, he does believe you knew he was my kid and being naughty. I didn’t tell him that, but that’s what he put together on his own.”
“I wouldn’t want any kid out there alone with Ferrick running around,” I said. “Kids needed to be protected.”
A lot of the pieces of my life were coming together loosely in my mind.
I traveled all over the globe, but focused on places where groups of dragons often gathered.
I always helped with Sermon and Gaia’s kids without being asked because sometimes it took more than two people to make sure kids had enough attention.
I didn’t want for attention as a kid, but not having my dad around definitely made an impact.
I opened my mouth to explain it to Jade and then shut it again before saying, “I want to be around you and Jondi.”
“I’ll help you find a therapist, if you want,” Jade yawned and I wrapped an arm around him.
“Why is it in the GGB everyone suggests therapy to everyone?” I chuckled, feeling exhaustion pulling at the edges of my thoughts.
“Because we’re the children of generational curse breakers.
The ones who went to therapy so that the buck stopped with them.
I mean, imagine if my carrier didn’t get therapy?
I mean, both of my parents still have their issues, but without therapy I don’t know what would’ve happened.
I did inherit some of my sire’s mistrust of strangers, but at the same time, that’s just being a lion in some ways. ”
“Did you love Eran?” I asked and hated myself for it.
“I do love Eran,” he yawned. “He’s my best friend, but we were never going to last as a couple. We make good friends, though. And before you start in on me kissing the other lions, you should know, I’ve never slept with any of them. They’re my pride and my friends.”
“I slept with Gaia once years ago before she and Sermon ever met,” I said, because if he could say he still loved Eran I could admit that.
“I know. I could tell by the way she acts around you. She moves around you like she knows you’re not a threat. She annoyed Jondi but her comfiness with you sort of was like a positive reference,” he yawned. “If I fall asleep before…”
“Sleep if you’re tired,” I said before he could finish his sentence. I was still hard and still wanted him, but romping could wait. My mate smelled exhausted and without some sleep, we’d never figure out this thing called life.
