Chapter 30
Chapter Thirty
The power coursing through her was commanding and potent, bringing a rush of excitement.
Violence slid through her veins. Eurielle lifted her arm and saw the indigo energy winding around her hand and between her fingers.
The smoke-like essence licked at her skin like flames.
Her gaze moved up her arm to the smoke there, too.
She looked down and realized it covered her entire body.
Wind whipped across the top of the mountain, sending her long hair flying around her. One strand blew in front of her face. She watched in awe as the indigo smoke sparked from the ends of even her hair.
Was this what it meant to give in to the dark side? The rush of power was heady, and she yearned to feel it again. Soon.
“There are plenty of dragons to kill.”
Her smile slipped a little as she recalled how drained she had felt after slaying the dragon.
Had it been a fluke? Or was it something that would happen each time she took a dragon’s life?
She looked toward the dragons’ land. The Kings had put on a show, but that was all it was.
They knew they couldn’t do anything to her.
Lotti would be a problem, but Eurielle would deal with her quickly.
She was new at learning how to use her abilities as a Star Person, and Eurielle would use that to her advantage. Villette, on the other hand…
There, she would need to be more careful.
Villette wasn’t just older, she’d also been a villain longer.
This might all be relatively new to Eurielle, but she was a fast learner.
She looked down at the indigo smoke again.
She had never witnessed anything like that on Miena or Villette.
But that didn’t mean anything. She knew for certain that both had given in to their dark sides long ago. They must be better at hiding it.
Eurielle looked to the heavens. Her siblings were watching. She didn’t know which ones, but the news would spread to all soon enough. The fact that none of them had descended on her all but gave her permission to do as she pleased. Perhaps they were arguing about what to do.
There were too many of them to come to an agreement, especially when everyone wanted to be in charge. It meant nothing ever got done promptly.
“Let them argue,” she said with a smile.
By the time they made a decision, she’d be too powerful for even her siblings to try to bend to their will.
She had been all but forgotten all those centuries, where she had been dismissed and overlooked and then confined to Zora for aiding the humans.
Soon, though, each of her siblings would know her name.
And they would bow before her.
Since the beginning of time, no single Star Person had ruled. She would change that. She would change everything. She lowered her gaze and looked to the east. First, she would take care of the dragons and the meddling Kings.
They thought hiding underground would help them.
She grinned as she remembered how incensed they were to see the dead dragon.
Murder had been in their eyes as they glared at her.
They had no idea who she was now. Perhaps it was time she let them know what was in store for them and anyone who dared to support them.
“Let’s see how you like this gift.”
Eurielle threw out her arms. Indigo magic burst from her fingers, shooting outward and rippling across the land.
