Epilogue
Rowan Rafferty’s happy ending with Kendra Jarrett.
Two days later
Kendra and I didn’t leave the Second Chances for two days as we christened the new ship by making love everywhere we could imagine - including the shower.
She made me sit on the bench while she delivered the promised blowjob, and it was worth the wait.
Thinking about that sexy moment in the shower got me hard again.
Today, we headed to Pleasure Point for my surprise. Even though it was a short trip, we put up the sails, and she was right. The button made it a dream. Sailing around the world with her would be easy. But then again, loving and being with her was easy, even when we encountered troubled waters.
My woman grinned at me as she piloted the catamaran through the buoys and pulled closer to my boat in the Pleasure Point Marina. I shook out my hands, waiting for her to notice.
She squinted at the new name. “You renamed your ship? The Coxfire II?”
“More than a new name,” I said. “Let’s get this thing docked, and I’ll show you around. Then, I bet some people want to celebrate the holidays with you.”
“With us,” she corrected. “You’re in the family now, Boss.”
“Nope. You’re the Boss now.” I motioned at her boat. “This is your boat. I’m along for the ride.”
“For the next year.” She did a little dance behind the wheel. “Where are we going first?”
“What part of ‘Boss’ wasn’t clear. You decide! We can go anywhere you want,” I reminded her.
She stood straighter and smiled. “You’re right. I am the boss. I’m in charge. I decide. First stop, Pleasure Point. Then, maybe Australia!”
I grinned at her like the lovesick fool I was.
We tied off Second Chances and boarded The Coxfire II, where my new captain, Decker, ran through the afternoon checks. The crew stood at attention, their uniforms and costumes in pristine shape. I smiled as I saw the high shine on Justin’s shoes. That had to be a first for my former First Mate.
“Skipper!” Decker called to Kendra when we approached the group. “You’re back! Thank fuck!”
I glared at him.
He had the decency to look sheepish. “Sorry about that. Thank GOODNESS you’re back. This sorry mope has been miserable without you.” Decker nodded toward me.
Kendra smiled. “I’m glad to hear it. I missed him, too.” She linked her arm through mine. “Now, will someone tell me what’s going on? These uniforms look a little different.”
“Pegleg Pete’s is no more,” I said somberly.
“God rest his fake soul,” Decker added.
Kendra laughed.
“I took your feedback into consideration and decided we did need to do something a little more authentic,” I began.
“I pitched him the idea of turning this into a dinner cruise that people could learn about Bloody Mary Maul, a real pirate. And a queen,” Decker said. “We did a lot of research. The Seven of Pleasure Point helped fill in the gaps.”
“That’s wonderful!” Kendra clapped her hands. “I love it.”
“Thank you,” Decker and I said at the same time.
“Father also helped us reconfigure parts of the ship,” I said. “We spent much time together over the past two months reconnecting. Funny how he didn’t mention helping you at the same time.”
“He’s a man of many secrets,” Kendra laughed. “But if you recently started this, you can’t take off to sail around the world with me.”
I kissed the tip of her nose. “Nonsense. Decker is the new captain of the ship. He’s running things. And I also made him a partner in the venture, so he has skin in the game.”
“Where have you been staying?” Kendra leaned in to whisper.
“The long-term suite at Demeter House,” I whispered back.
“No shit?”
“No shit. I’ve been living with your parents.” I made a face. “They’re nice, but I am glad you’re back.”
“I love you,” she said right before she kissed me.
The crew hooted and hollered, clapping and offering lewd suggestions. And I didn’t give a rat’s arse what they said.
My love was back in my arms, and I wouldn’t dream of letting her go again.
Later, as we walked hand in hand into Demeter House, she stopped me. “I always dreamed about this.”
“Dreamed about what?” I asked.
Her blue eyes twinkled. A strong breeze whipped her hair around her face. And her smile nearly stopped my heart.
“You’re the dreamboat I’ve been waiting for,” she said. “I can’t wait to sail off into the sunset with you.”
