Chapter 2 #3
“You don’t, the fuck?” Evie’s brows knitted into a frown as she popped a hand on her hip.
“How are you pissed at me because I covered for my friend? She didn’t want Shon to know she was pregnant, and it wasn’t my place to tell him.
My loyalties lie with Kamryn. My best bitch.
My best fucking friend in the whole wide world.
And the fact that you’re still pissed at me behind something that happened four years ago is dumb as fuck.
And says a lot about how mentally fucked up you are.
The shit is truly tragic. Get a fucking life, Norie. ”
“Bullshit, ‘cus ya loyalties didn’t lie with her when you plotted with me to get her ass and Shon out to that damn cabin to get them back together. You ain’t say shit about loyalty when yo’ ass was riding the fuck outta my dick before and after we came up with that fucking plan.
But now you wanna talk about fucking loyalty.
That’s a bunch of fucking bullshit, and you know it.
And anything could’ve happened to her and my niece while she was being stubborn and you were being stupid.
It’s time for you to go; you just pissed me off all over again. ”
“Fuck you, Norie. I ain’t gotta put up with yo shit, you disrespectful bastard. I gotta date to get ready for anyway.”
“You ain’t got no date tonight, Evie. Tell whatever nigga you got mesmerized to hit you up another time.
Tonight is the night we get some shit straight ‘bout how you be moving wit’ these weak ass niggas.
” Norie didn’t care about her entertaining other men as long as it was just about a nut.
He didn’t feel a way about her playthings.
It was when she’d bring the same nigga around or enter a relationship with a nigga that didn’t sit right with him.
He knew it was a fucked up way to feel, but he didn’t give two shits.
He needed a way to always be able to get back in her life permanently when he was ready.
As long as he had a piece of her heart and he was heavy on her mind, he knew their connection would never be severed.
“Nah, that’s not how that’s finna go, honey.
You don’t run shit over this way. Whatever I do wit’ a muthafucka ain’t none of your fucking business.
And we ain’t got shit to talk about either.
And actually, it was a mistake coming up in here,” Crossing the room to Kamila, Evie grabbed her up and headed out of his office.
“I don’t patronize disrespectful fools.”
“Bye baby girl, see you later.” Norie kissed his niece quickly on the cheek as Evie stormed past him on her way out of his office.
“Bye, uncle.” Kamila waved just as Evie exited the store and turned the corner.
Norie didn’t know just how much self-control it took to keep his composure until this very moment.
If Evie thought she’d spoken finality over the matter of her entertaining any other nigga but him, she was sadly mistaken, and had him fucked all the way up.
And yeah, he was still pissed about some shit that happened years ago because he hated secrets.
He hated how they altered and ruined lives.
And how sometimes finding out the truth came too little too late.
Norie wanted to deny it, but he couldn’t lie and say he didn’t miss constantly seeing her at game nights and when they used to just chill and fuck.
Trying to ignore his feelings for her and move on without her had really taken its toll.
After walking away from her and trying to keep his distance as much as their connection to his family would allow, he knew he was fighting a losing battle.
Not only could Norie not find Evie in other women or replicate their connection, but he also hadn’t met another chick whose pussy walls could squeeze and suck on his dick like hers either.
Norie was pissed that she really was a diamond in the rough.
And on top of the soul-sucking sex, he missed Evie’s vibe, smile, and how she never hesitated to encourage and believe in everything he ever thought he wanted to do.
After barely speaking to her and ignoring everything he wanted to do to her for so long, with the exception of their bathroom quickie, he was officially done suppressing his body’s impulses when it came to her.
Plus, he was backed up like a muthafucka because no amount of cum he released in the condoms he’d used with other women ever let him feel truly satisfied.
Norie knew it wasn’t right to come at her the way he was about to, but ignoring his feelings for Evie Hutton was out of the question after today.
He’d been in love with her for far too long not to act on what he’d wanted to do to her.
And frankly, he was tired of going to war against the only place his heart wanted to be.
He knew the shit wasn’t about to be easy to get her to be his woman now, but then again, he had no intention of playing fair.
Norie had all the cheat codes he needed when it came to Evie, and he intended to use every last one of them if need be to mend what he’d broken.
