14. Nese #2

Standing, he bends down and picks me up, carrying me to his king-size bed. As it already was turned down for him, he places me in the center and I kick the blankets down to my feet. No use having them get in the way.

Before he joins me, he strips off his sweats, to reveal he’s not wearing anything under then. Damn. This man is fine. I felt him through his bathing suit in the pool, but nothing compares to seeing him in vivid real life.

“Please open your legs for me.”

I smile. “Since you asked so nicely.” I do as he requested. Not ordered. Never that.

“You already experienced what I can do with my fingers. Do you think my mouth will be as good?”

On the pillow, my head thrashes. “I. Want.”

He chuckles. “I’ll try my best.”

Soon his fingers play with my sex, replaced with his lips and tongue. He inserts his fingers into me while working on my clit in such a way I nearly explode, it feels so good. “Seems like you remember how to do this.”

He laughs softly, teasing my body until the shimmer of an orgasm starts at my toes. With one last swipe, he causes it to crash over me.

I scream, “Yes! Oh, yes!”

While I recover on the bed, Coop opens a nearby drawer, rips open a condom packet, and rolls it over his engorged cock. I want to lick it, swallow it, suck it dry. But he’s sheathed when I finally come out of my stupor. Time for that later.

He looms over me. “Are you ready for me, Nese?”

I open my legs wider. “Test me and find out.”

His eyes sport blown-out pupils. He inserts his finger where I need his cock to go, and puts it to his mouth. His tongue wipes it clean. “You taste mighty fine. I’d say you’re more than ready.” With that, he pushes into my body.

After I adjust to his size, he starts to move inside of me. He’s hard and pounding, exactly how I like it. His lips play with my free nipple. I smile—guess he doesn’t want to leave any stone unturned.

Once again, much faster than usual, an orgasm shimmers beyond my reach.

It usually takes a few minutes before I freefall over the cliff, but not with Coop.

No sooner does this feeling resurface, than it explodes even brighter than before.

My field of vision dissipates to only him and me in his bedroom, wrapped up in each other.

I scream, “I’m coming!”

He thrusts twice more and comes with a roar that puts all other guys to shame. In fact, Coop literally is the definition of sexy. Who knew?

I stroke his sweat-covered back, allowing the muscles to ripple beneath my fingers.

He lifts up and looks down at me. Rather than saying anything, he kisses me with lips that say more than any words could.

It’s as if he thanked me for the jaw-dropping sex and for getting him off like a rocket. Damn. Right back at you, Coop!

He murmurs something about the condom and rolls off me. He pads to the bathroom—en suite, of course. The water runs in the sink and I stretch. Every square inch of my body feels as if it’s encased in the most exquisite silk. I’m both relaxed and energized, simultaneously.

Walking naked into the room, Coop reappears by the bed. I giggle. This man is amazing! I reach my arms forward and he slips in next to me, hugging me close.

He kisses the top of my head. “That was … awesome. Thank you.”

“Believe me, it’s I who should be thanking you. You’re like five steps beyond. I’ve never felt like this before.”

“I’m glad.”

I want to do it again. I want to roll around this bed, screaming from every corner. I’m up for whatever he’s throwing down.

Coop tucks the blankets around us. “Now, sleep.”

Now, sleep? What? My back bristles. I sit up. “Because we had amazing sex doesn’t mean you can order me around. I thought we had an understanding.”

He sighs. “Yes, we had great sex. No, I’m not trying to control you. However, I need to recover.”

My hackles slip away. He wasn’t trying to tell me what to do. Giggling, I say, “You could have told me you needed a break. After all, you’re not a spring chicken anymore. I’ve read old men can’t get it back up right away.” I pat his shoulder. “I understand.”

He lifts to his elbow. “I am not old.”

My hand snakes down to his semi-hard cock. “Guys I’ve been with before would be raring to go again by now. I rest my case.”

He flops onto his back. “Do not compare me with other men you’ve had in your bed.”

“Okay, Grandpa. So long as you don’t compare me with other women in yours.”

His head swivels on the pillow. “There’s only been Lillian, so you’re safe there.”

I let his words sink in for a moment. “What? How is that even possible? You’re a rockstar, for heaven’s sake. Women throw themselves at the band all the time. You never partook?”

“Nope. I was married.”

“For a second nearly a decade ago.” It’s my turn to sit up. “Don’t tell me you haven’t had sex in ten years.”

He remains silent.

“I’m speechless.” Of course, my next words belie this claim. “I’ve had more sex than you and I’m like half your age. What did that Lillian do to you?”

“You’re not quite that young.”

“Well, true.” His confession floors me. The only plausible explanation I can come up with centers on his ex-wife. I get on my back and snuggle closer to him. Maybe it’s our time at the botanical gardens, but I feel close with him. I need to understand.

Intertwining our fingers, I lower my voice. “Why?”

He looks at me. At our combined hands. And sighs. “When the band first started out, all the guys took part in everything that was offered. We had unlimited drinks, food, and women. I did too, minus the sex.”

“Because you were married?”

“Exactly. I was faithful.” He shakes his head. “Anyway, Luke instituted monthly blood tests to make sure we were all healthy.”

“Smart man. He didn’t want you guys catching anything.”

“Right. Well, I was the leader of the pack for the tests. I figured I should show the rest of them how it’s done.”

Dread comes over me. Obviously, this did not end well. I bite my tongue to let him finish his story.

“One time, a month or so after we’d had a break, during which I was home with Lillian, we had our regular check-ups.

Like usual, I went first. A few hours later, I got a call from Luke to go see him.

Not having a clue what was up, I entered his room and he was holding a piece of paper. I’ll never forget what he said.”

I clasp his fingers harder.

Coop shifts into another voice. “He said, ‘Coop, man, I’m sorry to give this information to you. Only one guy in UC has a STD. It’s you.’”

My eyes close. Even though I was sure of what was coming, it still stings to hear it spoken out loud. “She cheated on you?”

He stares at the ceiling.

After a long moment, I say, “So you got a divorce?”

“Basically, yes. Río and the rest of the band were supportive. Luke got our attorneys to draft a Non-Disclosure Agreement for her to sign, which is why none of this hit the media. Besides, I’m only the guitarist and UC hadn’t really hit it big back then. I got healthy and divorced.”

Somehow, I think there’s more to this story. Something he’s not sharing. “And swore off women?”

He offers a sad smile. “Something like that.”

“If your ex was the reason for your divorce, why is she still invading your meditation?”

He runs his fingers through his hair. “Damn. I knew you were smart. I guess I didn’t realize just how intuitive you are.”

“Call me a modern-day Freud.”

“I’m a Carl Jung guy myself.”

“Figures.” Silence descends again, which I allow for a minute. When he doesn’t appear ready to continue the conversation, I ask, “What did she do to you? Besides the obvious, that is.”

“I didn’t pay attention to the signs our marriage wasn’t as strong as I thought.

The calls she didn’t answer, the ones I didn’t make because I was out with the guys after a gig.

” His eyes close. “When she cheated, I learned something about myself. My own judgment wasn't reliable. That’s why I turned to Buddhism and Zen teachings. They helped me sort through everything.”

He opens his eyes and stares directly into mine.

“That’s bullshit.”
