Malory’s Interrogation

Malory's Interrogation

Across the room, Mallory, who had been watching her like a hawk, let out a dramatic groan, flopping onto the couch with a loud sigh.

"If you don’t tell me what that man just texted you, I swear to God, Savannah, I will physically wrestle that phone from your hands and launch it into the ocean."

Savannah glanced up, arching a brow. "You do realize I have a passcode, right?"

Mallory narrowed her eyes. "And you do realize I will figure it out just to expose all the filthy, flirty little messages Chase Montgomery has been sending you?"

Savannah snorted, shaking her head. "He invited us to dinner."

Mallory perked up instantly. "Us? As in me too?"

"Yep." Savannah tossed her phone onto the coffee table. "Apparently, his coworker Nate is going to be there, and Chase thought you two should meet."

Mallory’s smirk was instant. "Oh, I like the sound of that. The man clearly has good taste."

Savannah rolled her eyes, but she couldn’t stop the warmth from blooming in her chest.

"So, you’re in?" she asked, already knowing the answer.

Mallory scoffed, tossing her curls over her shoulder. "Are you kidding? If Chase Montgomery is cooking, I wouldn’t miss it."

Savannah let out a soft laugh, shaking her head.

But beneath the amusement, beneath the teasing, there was something deeper curling low in her stomach.

Because tonight, she was going to Chase’s house.

Again.

And there would be no dock between them this time.

No space.

No distractions.

Just him.

And she had a feeling she wouldn’t survive the night without giving in.
