Ham and Cheese Says Good Morning

Ham and Cheese Says Good Morning

W E ARE SHARING

pre-work coffee and doughnuts from the Canadian shop on the corner when Ham and Cheese appears.

‘Morning,’ he says, passing by our bench with a smile. It is a devilishly handsome smile. His suit is expertly pressed, sandy-blond hair in a bun at the back of his head.

‘Ham and Cheese,’ Bella replies, giving him a salute.

‘Good morning, Mr Cheese,’ I call. He looks thrilled with this as he heads off in the direction of whatever swanky office he works in, readjusting the bag over his shoulder.

We watch him go.

And then I peep at Bella to see if she is as pleased by seeing Ham and Cheese as I think she might be.
