Chapter 10 Kitchen Surprise

The game ended. It was time to heat the oil.

Su Jingyu and his twin had turned from Korean-style handsome guys into rural hunks from the smoke.

Ji Mingxu and I checked the ingredients and discussed the menu with them.

Su Jingyu said, "Bro, sis, keep it simplest. Edible is fine."

The kid was not picky.

After confirming no forbidden ingredients, Ji Mingxu and I put on aprons properly.

We had agreed on one pot. He cooked, I assisted. I cooked, he assisted.

The pot heated. Oil went in.

Idle guests and staff watched us. Live Stream numbers seemed to climb, anticipating chaos.

But the moment Ji Mingxu picked up the spatula, his hands moved with quick precision.

Ingredients hit the wok. Before anyone could advise, he flipped and tossed expertly. I handed items like a silent assistant on command.

Exclamations rose first, then everything quieted somehow.

When his first dish came out, I took over the next.

They watched the chef switch and paused. "Jiang Dai, how about letting Ji Mingxu handle it alone? You can assist since he can cook."

I glanced their way and answered, "It's fine. I can do some too."

Next second, oil in, ingredients down, fire roaring strong. I stir-fried and tossed while flames leaped, making me look calm like a twenty-year chef.

The area quieted again. Only Ji Mingxu assisted me.

Six or seven dishes came from the pot. They landed on the prepared table. Rice was scooped. Sponsored drinks sat one bottle each. Time to eat.

They remained stunned.

The director spoke with real feeling. "Didn't you say you couldn't cook?"

I felt puzzled. "Didn't I say I could do some?"

Ji Mingxu added, "When did I say I couldn't?"

“…”

Fu Shuangyan watched us with appreciation. "How are your cooking skills so good?"

I paused. "Well, that's a long story..."
