LAILAH #2
Clinging to him, he moved at a slow steady pace, just letting our bodies feel the movement.
At this point, I was so sensitive, it wouldn’t take much for me to come again, but he kept me on the edge.
Kissing along my neck, he nibbled on my ear, making me lean to the side to give him better access to what he wanted.
The feeling of our bodies wrapped up in each other was euphoric in a way I never knew possible.
I felt loved, cherished, and the safest I had since we came to Wisconsin.
My quiet observant knight knew what I needed, even when I didn’t.
Silent tears fell down my cheeks as I clung to him, letting this man I loved with my soul take care of me.
Finally, we both reached our limit and came one after the other in a beautiful crescendo.
“I know this is hard, my sunshine, but we’ll do this together and make it out the other side,” Hudson whispered into my ear as he pulled me from his neck to look me in the eye.
“Don’t fear what we have to face because you won’t be doing it alone.
Each of your knights will be right behind you, ready to defend the future we all deserve.
” He kissed away the last of my tears before stripping me the rest of the way out of my clothes.
Then he scooped me up and carried me upstairs into my bedroom where we wrapped ourselves in the sheets, and I drifted off in his arms, wrung out in the best way possible.
I didn’t even have to open my eyes to know where I was and who was here with me.
The darkness of the void the Dark Lord liked to bring me to was vast and terrifying, and a feeling of utter loneliness sank into my skin.
It has been months since the last time we’d interacted this way, but I’d been expecting it ever since I banished Lilith back to Hell and the Princes who wanted to lock her up.
“Little Synergy,” his evil voice purred, making the hairs on the back of my neck stand up. “Have you missed me? It’s been awhile since our last conversation.”
“Can’t say that I’ve even noticed your absence with the joy of meeting your mother,” I commented.
The funny thing about being tired of dealing with all this is that it made this whole interaction less intimidating. We’d done this song and dance before and I’d always made my way out of it unscathed.
The Dark Lord snarled at me. “Yes, she told me all about what happened between you two and how she succeeded in breaking one of your relationships, leaving you vulnerable to me entering your mind like this. How are you sleeping? Nightmares keeping you awake still? I decided to throw in some new ones to keep you tired, restless, and stupid. The carelessness of this interaction is proving to me that it’s working. ”
“What? You’re the one giving me nightmares?” I gasped, my brain finally catching up to the reality of my situation.
I’d thought with four out of the five bound to me that I would be safer from the Dark Lord, but if he’s been in my head this whole time, then I was dead wrong. Could it be that he’d given up on using me to gain what he wanted, seeing as I was too much effort to deal with in the real world?
“Ah, it seems you’re finally catching on. Mother warned me you weren’t as bright as I thought you were and you know mothers, they’re never wrong.” He chuckled, the sound like nails on a chalkboard.
I needed to get out of here, and quickly, but I’d never been able to do this on my own.
The guys always came for me when I needed them.
Closing my eyes, I focused inward, trying to grasp onto my bonds but there was nothing.
It was a hollow space in my chest. How could I be cut off from them?
It shouldn’t have been possible for him to do that.
“Now, now, Little Synergy. You’re in my world now and I’ve put a shield up just as you have back home, to keep them out as we had this little chat.
No one you are bound to has any idea that something is wrong, and I have you right where I want you,” the Dark Lord sneered, his clawed hand wrapping around my throat.
“My brothers know about my plans, which is forcing me to move them to happen faster than I wanted. If I take you out here and now, it might be less fulfilling, but then I’ll have one less pest to deal with as I bring Earth into a new era ruled by me! ”
His grip tightened, and I thrashed, trying to pull at his hand, but he was too strong and his fingers were so long they wrapped all the way around my throat, his claws digging into my skin.
Without my power to call on the others, I was left helpless and alone in the darkness, with pure evil trying to steal my life from me.
In desperation, I called out to whoever might listen with the last ounce of air that I had in my lungs, unwilling to die like this.
“Get your hands off her, you creepy bastard!” Parker’s voice rang out in the darkness.
A flickering purple light was making its way over to us, but with the lack of oxygen, my vision was starting to fade.
“You shouldn’t be able to be here! How did you get through my barrier?” the Dark Lord roared, dropping me to the ground.
My eyes were still blurry, but I caught glimpses of Parker and his long-bladed staff going head-to-head with the Dark Lord.
Parker had an evil smile on his face as he attacked, pushing the darkness back with him as his purple light grew, filling the space.
“Did you forget I’m not attached to her at all now, or the fact that shattering the Oath left a blight on me much like the mark you left on Lailah?
Yeah, asshole, I can enter the void now too, probably even follow you into Hell if I needed to.
Sadly, we can’t stay and play. Just know that we’re coming for you and when we do, you’re going to lose. ”
Parker released his weapon and scooped me up. “Sorry, Trouble, but this is gonna be a bumpy ride,” he warned as he ran, tucking me in close against his chest.
“How?” I croaked.
“I don’t know, Trouble, but I’m so glad I didn’t ignore the nagging feeling you needed me. Just be ready for them to be pissed and screaming when you wake up,” Parker shared, as I felt myself starting to wake up and the brush of a kiss on my forehead.
