Chapter 19 #3

When he entered me, I whimpered once again with my hands planted around the small of his back. Lev stroked me and talked me through every emotion he thought I may have been feeling. “You feel that?” He grunted never breaking that dangerous gaze.

I arched my back meeting his strokes, but he had all the control. “Ouuu, yes I feel that.”

“Open up,” he told me.

I did. “Ouu fuck!”

He sped up the pace and went even deeper. “Some more.”

I spread them as wide as I could and that’s when I realized he hit a spot I never felt before literally in my guts. “Ahhh! Mmm!” I moaned.

He smiled and kissed my lips. “Yeah, that’s it right there.”

“This shit feels so… oh my God,” I squealed glad that he didn’t have a neighbor close enough over here to hear me.

Lev slowed up the pace, then picked up back up, he tease me by taking some out, and then had me begging for him to put it back in.

I felt like a mad woman literally losing my mind, but those last few strokes did it for the both of us.

“Ah fuck,” he grunted fucking me harder with a tight grip on my waist.

“Lev… I’m… Lord pleaseee…. Oh God you’re about to make me…” I met his thrust and before I knew it, his lips came crashing down on mine as he gently slithered his tongue in my mouth like a snake muffling my loud screams. “Umm!” I uncontrollably quaked around him.

“Mhm,” Lev rocked back and forth inside of me allowing his nut to rip through the barrier between us.

We were both so worked up, Lev rolled over and used his strong arm to roll me on top of him where I desperately tried to catch my breath while he held me.

Our hearts were beating hard but in the same sync.

He kissed me on the forehead, and we didn’t say one word, instead we listened to the sounds around us which was soothing.

An hour later, I sat near the edge couch by the water pulling my hoodie back over my head while the sunlight peeked at us.

The ocean was fully visible now through the glass, bright and endless, but I couldn’t enjoy the view the same way I had before because my thoughts were getting the best of me.

The sex had been too good, and that wasn’t the problem.

The problem was how good it had felt to be with somebody who hadn’t made me feel obligated, rushed, or afraid.

Lev had been careful in a way I didn’t expect from him, and that gentleness had cracked open something inside me I had been keeping shut.

Now I didn’t know what to do with it. Yes, Marv existed and so did everything else, yet Lev was standing there buttoning his shirt like we hadn’t just complicated every part of an already messy situation.

He looked over at me. “You ready?”

I slowly nodded, although I wasn’t sure what I was ready for.

The ride back to the club was quieter than the ride there as the sun hovered.

When Lev pulled into the parking lot, most of the cars were gone.

My car sat alone surrounded by empty spaces that had been full only hours earlier.

A worker in a reflective vest pushed a trash bin near the side of the building while the club sign still glowed above the entrance.

Lev parked beside my car and shut off the engine.

Then he turned toward me with a seriousness in his dark eyes. “I overstepped.”

The apology caught me off guard. I studied his face, looking for a flaw and I found none. “You didn’t,” I said.

“I did.”

“No.” I shook my head, holding his gaze. “You were a perfect gentleman. You don’t have to apologize.” I assured him. His eyes searched mine as if he wanted to make sure I meant it. “I went with you because I wanted to,” I added. “What happened just happened because I wanted it to.”

He leaned back against the seat, still watching me. “That don’t make it uncomplicated.”

“No,” I admitted. “It doesn’t.”

Whatever was between us wasn’t exactly regret. It was more so like understanding, maybe. I reached for the door handle, then paused. “Thank you for the food and for showing me a beautiful night.”

Lev nodded never taking his eyes off of me. “Get home safe.”

“I will.”

I climbed out and crossed the short distance to my car.

When I started the engine, his truck remained parked beside me.

He waited while I backed out, and when I glanced into the rearview mirror near the exit, he was still there.

He didn’t pull off until I did. The drive home gave me too much time to think.

By the time I turned into my apartment complex, Lev, Marv, Rome, and every bad decision I had made in the last month were tangled together in my head like a damn web.

When I made it to my place, I slowed down, checked the visitor spaces, and looked for Rome’s car.

Then I circled once more before parking near the back.

Nothing looked out of place, but Rome had taught me not to trust appearances.

I grabbed my bag, pulled my hood up, and slipped in through the rear entrance, keeping my steps quiet until I was safely inside my apartment.

I locked the door and dropped my keys onto the counter.

Exhaustion hit me all at once and I barely had enough energy to kick off my sneakers before falling across the bed in the same hoodie I had worn home.

My eyes had only been closed a few minutes when the knocking started.

My body went rigid as another knock followed, harder this time.

I didn’t need to look, but I forced myself up anyway and crept toward the door.

One glance through the peephole confirmed what I already knew.

Rome stood in the hallway. He wore a dark T-shirt and jeans, his hands hanging at his sides while he stared directly at my door as if he could feel me watching from the other side.

The sight of him pissed me off. How the fuck did he always know?

He knocked again. “Navy.”

I stepped away from the door without answering.

Rome stayed there another few minutes, and then tried the knob as if he had the right to walk in.

When it didn’t turn, he muttered something I couldn’t hear and knocked once more before finally leaving.

I waited until his footsteps disappeared completely before returning to my bedroom.

I didn’t have time for this shit tonight and I had in my right mind to try to move again, but where was the money going to come from if I was already in debt?

Besides, he would find me just like he did this time.

I couldn’t help but to wonder where his baby mama was and why he wasn’t bothering her ass.

My shift at the hospital didn’t start until seven that evening.

That gave me enough time to sleep, wake up, and do what I should have done the moment I moved out.

I was filing for divorce. After that, I was going to request an order of protection if I had the time.

Rome had spent too long convincing me that his control was love, that his money gave him rights over me, and that leaving him would never truly mean I was free.
