Chapter 10

Chapter Ten

Ana

I stared at Elio and the words he uttered broke my heart in so many ways.

I didn’t have a voice to express them, so I needed to get away before I broke down right in front of everyone in such a nice place.

I refused to allow myself to be embarrassed in public anymore.

I ran back to the dressing room to change my clothes.

For years my father forced me to suffer with ridicule and poverty and now I knew it was all for nothing.

I thought back to everything in my past and nothing screamed that my father ran the city.

Perhaps Elio was mistaken. Elio had to be because my father wasn’t good for a damn thing and there was no way he’d be capable of being powerful like Elio.

My dad always came stumbling in at four in the morning every few days looking like he’d been on a bender.

I needed air and to cool off before I asked all the questions that I knew would crush me and prove that my life had been a waste.

I was barely half-dressed when the curtain opened. I thought it was Elio coming to apologize, but it wasn’t him. I didn’t recognize the man. He held a gun pointing at my head. “Come quietly. We already have several men on your beloved uncle and your foolish lover, so don’t try anything dumb.”

I nodded and followed him still in my heeled sandals I’d been trying on. “Time to get moving, princess.”

“Who are you? What do you want?”

“Elio’s going to kill you for this.”

“He isn’t going to get a chance. Now say something else and I'm going to crack you across the mouth.” He yanked the back door open to a sleek white SUV to shove me inside.

“You don't lay a hand on her,” another voice that I recognized so well came out of the darkened interior. “Now get inside, Ana Maria.”

My heart stopped as I stared at the man who should probably be dead in a ditch somewhere from his debauchery.

“Daddy what's going on? Why are you doing this?” Seeing him in the nice suit, completely clean shaven with his hair slicked back proved exactly what Elio said.

My father was a mobster and more than that, a liar.

A laughing rumble came from the front of the vehicle and the face I recognized that haunted my dreams turned around and stared at me. Well, hello, little Ana.”

“Calhoun?

“I don't understand what's going on,” I muttered as my mind and heart were racing.

“You had to go and call your uncle, didn't you?” The motion was so quick I didn’t have a chance to react like I normally did and dodge his blows. The sting across my face burned before his hand fully came down. He’d gotten stronger and more determined.

“Answer me, you useless little slut.”

“Well, you went missing and I was worried. Why are you with them? Are they holding you hostage?” Now they all laughed at me.

Hearing my father's chuckle hit me straight in the chest like a punch so hard I feel like I couldn't breathe. I knew he could be cruel when he drank, but this was different. The man in front of me was stone cold sober and evil. I didn’t know this man. I never knew this man.

“Now you're going to do what we tell you and summon your little boyfriend.” Out of nowhere he lost the southern twang that I had grown up with, and his accent was similar to Elio and his men.

My gut was screaming at me that I'd been played. I had nowhere to run and was betrayed by my own flesh and blood. No matter what happened, I sure as hell wasn’t going to give him what he wanted.

“No, I'm not. Why would I do anything for you? For years I have been cleaning up after what I thought was an alcoholic, and here you are sober, well-dressed in expensive clothes and hanging with the men who harassed me on a regular basis and took my money that I earned by working two jobs and giving up my life for. There is nothing I would do for you ever again. How could you hate your daughter so much?”

He grabbed my cheeks forcefully, squeezing them so hard I thought he’d break my jaw.

“Easy. You're not my daughter.” My eyes widened and he smirked, understanding that he’d won.

He released his grip, slamming me violently against the seat.

I shook my head, body trembling as the day’s revelations pounded into my brain.

“See that bitch of a mother of yours and that bastard brother of mine betrayed me in the worst way possible. You're their little mistake and they dumped you off on me. I’m glad she had that accident. I’m almost sad I didn’t cause it.”

“What are you going to do to me?”

“You’re going to pay for running away or rather your little lover will with his life. I let you get away with just paying your dues by working a regular job or two, but since you crossed me you’ll come work for me in one of my clubs.”

“Never.”

“Trust me you will.” I remained quiet the rest of the trip and faced forward not looking at any of them.

They took me along the back roads toward a warehouse.

They came to a stop and then my father said, “You’ll be here until that poor excuse for a boss and fiancé pays up.

Then we’ll end him and take you where you belong. ”

“No, you can’t,” I screamed.

Frankie dragged me from the vehicle. “Come on, little brat.”

My father stuck his head out of the vehicle and said, “Don’t let anything happen to her until I get back. She’s going to be worth a lot.”

A million thoughts went through my head.

The second I was trapped in that building I’d have less of a chance of escaping.

I’d ran from Calhoun and Perez before, I just didn’t know it had been at my father’s request. Without drawing attention to myself, I peered around the alley and looked for anything that could help me get away.

There were a few fire escapes, and the main road wasn’t far.

Still, nothing but a large dumpster nearby. That wasn’t much help.

“Don’t worry, this little bitch isn’t getting away from me.

I want my money and you want yours. Besides, I need payback.

” My father closed the door, and Frankie dragged me to the door.

Screeching tires could be heard coming toward my father’s SUV.

They switched into reverse, but were met with another SUV.

Before I could make a move, shots rang out. Acting on instinct and suspicion, I slammed my elbow into Frankie’s stomach and ducked away to the side. “Get down, Amore.”

That was when Marco, my Uncle Joey and then Elio came toward the vehicle. I hid behind a large dumpster and prayed that they didn’t get hurt. As far as my so-called father was concerned my love and care for him finally died the moment I learned the truth.

“Amore, time to come out. Everything is clear. Please don’t be afraid of me.

” I slid out from behind the big green bin, shaking and nervous.

My heart and eyes were too afraid of what I’d see.

“Ana Maria, please.” Elio’s voice was kind and gentle and I followed it.

He took my hand and pulled me to him. I let out a wailing sob.

“I’m so sorry this had to happen.”

“Me, too.” He kept my head pressed to his chest away from all the aftermath.

“Are they all dead?”

“Just the driver and Gio.”

“What?”

“Your father is wounded and so is Frankie.”

“What’s going to happen?”

“We have some people who will take care of this, but we need to get out of here.” The way he said that meant I shouldn’t ask any other questions and I didn’t plan on it.

As long as they wouldn’t be a problem for me, I didn’t care.

He led me to their waiting SUV where he held me all the way back to his home.

We were silent as Marco drove and my real father sat in the front.

When we arrived, I asked him to stay. We all gathered in the sitting room even though we could all use a fresh shower. “There’s a lot to talk about,” I said. “It will be quick because I know there’s a lot to do, but I have to get this over with.”

“I know you probably hate me for your father, but I refused to let him get away with harming you,” Elio started off, but I pressed my hand to his forearm and stopped him.

“He’s not my father.” I looked over Elio’s shoulder to my uncle and said, “Someone kept a big secret.”

“Wait, are you saying…” My uncle tilted his head, looking more perplexed than I expected.

“That you had an affair with my mother.”

Tears formed in my uncle’s eyes. Something I’d never witnessed before. This is hard for me to discuss.

“We can talk about it another time.”

“No, you need to know the truth. I can’t let you go on believing a lie. You’ve been lied to your entire life. Hell, I’ve been lied to your entire life. I could have given you a better life.”

“Your mother was my girlfriend first. Then she met my brother and left me. He swept her off her feet and she caved. I didn’t hold a candle to his charm. Shortly after they were together she was pregnant.”

“And you didn’t question the paternity?”

“No because we were careful, and she swore it was his and they never used any protection. She said you were his and you were born on time or now that I’m thinking about it, you were probably late.

Still, we didn’t have an affair no matter what he said.

I was too heartbroken to even speak to them again for a long time. ”

I pulled out of Elio’s arms and then grabbed my uncle’s hands, holding them in mine. “Relax, I believe you.”

“Good because I’d hate it if you were mad at me forever.”

I hugged my real dad. “I could never. You’ve always been there for me.”

He pulled back to wipe his tears away. “I don’t know where we go from here.”

“You’ve always been more of a father to me than he ever was, so that really hasn’t changed.”

“Good. Can we talk about it tomorrow?”

“Yes.” We said our goodbyes so the men could shower. I needed to wash off the bad feelings and the touch of that loser. Elio and I showered in separate bathrooms, so when I stepped into our bedroom my handsome fiancé was standing there in just a towel wrapped around his waist.

“I guess our wedding will have to wait?” I asked, staring at his impressive build.

He crossed the distance, slipping his hands around my waist. “I didn’t think you’d still marry me after all that.”

“I thought you weren’t giving me a chance to say no,” I whispered, reminding him of his promise.

“I’m not, but I at least expected you to put up a fight.”

“I don’t want to. You’re the reason I’m safe.”

“Forever your safe place, Ana Maria, Amore mia.” He dragged me close and then I tugged on his towel, revealing his impressive cock. My mouth watered when I stared at it.

“Can I?”

“You can do whatever you like, but I’d sure love to see you on your knees for me.

” He snagged his finger under my towel and gave it a simple pull, sending it to the floor.

I gently took his length in my hand, testing the velvety feel and thick girth along my fingers.

My thumb rubbed over the tip, gliding a drop of his precum across the fat head.

A curse fell from him as he held his fists at his sides.

“Cara, please. Dio mio, por favore,” he pleaded.

His begging was more than either of us could take.

“Suck it, Ana,” he begged. Smiling up at him, I slid my tongue along the underside and then slipped the head into my mouth.

I moaned around the large meat before sucking him hard.

I moved my head up and down his shaft in a steady rhythm.

I loved the way he felt and tasted, so smooth and fresh.

I gasped and moaned as I pressed my fingers between my thighs, rubbing my pussy.

He let out a guttural sound before he gripped my hair roughly, cupped my throat and tilted my head.

“Bad girl, you enjoy sucking my cock. I bet your pussy is so damn soaked.”

I nodded with his cock in my mouth. “That’s good because we’re going to have some dessert in a minute.

” He took control of my movements, his hand guiding my head as he pushed his cock in and out of my mouth.

The power was soaking my thighs and the floor beneath me.

Drool pooled around my lips and then he pulled out so quickly that I was disappointed.

“You’ll get my cum later.” He lifted me up and flipped me onto the bed on all fours and then dropped to his knees behind me. With a swipe of his tongue, he licked my pussy and then pushed two fingers inside.

“Ah, Elio.” I pushed back, wanting to come already, but all I got was his palm on my ass and he pulled away from me.

“Patience. I don’t want you to hurt yourself.” He flipped me onto my back and then I found myself staring up at the man who made my heart pound out of my chest. Whose beautiful green eyes were brightened with hunger.

“You’re teasing me.”

“No, I’m trying to hold off before I hurt your pretty little pussy. It’s still sore from yesterday or rather this morning.”

“I want you to fuck me.”

“Marry me.”

“Of course.” I nodded and then he pushed his huge dick deep in me. I leaned my head back and wrapped my legs around his waist. He drove into me while his legs were still on the floor.

“You’re my obsession, Ana Maria. I’m never letting you go.”

“Please don’t.” His mouth came down on me and we both came together.
