Chapter 24

Chapter Twenty-Four

Gabriel

After a second round of sex at his house, changing the sheets, and showering in the big walk-in shower, they finally returned to the cabin. The impromptu adventure had taken them away from the Ranch longer than he’d planned, and they missed out on riding or playing in the maze that day.

He woke the next morning to her lips around him again, and promptly lifted her up to return the favor. By the time they had washed again, they were back to late-morning wake ups, and Eris looked more content than she ever had.

“Do we get to keep this?” she asked, picking up the stack of stationary with the mask motif. Gabriel cracked a grin, meeting her amused eyes. “Because I can think of plenty of messages to give you on this.”

“It’s custom for us, so yes,” Gabriel replied, smirking back.

She was wearing another simple outfit again, perfect for riding, but he knew she had another goal in mind first. “Anything that isn’t directly crafted for the cabin is ours.

The stationary, the mask, all of this is ours to take with us when we leave. ”

Eris bit her lip, nodding. “And… we’re going to talk to Master Derek?”

Gabriel smiled, reaching out to kiss her hand. “We’re going to talk to Master Derek. I’m sure it shouldn’t be an issue, but we should talk to Master Lucas again, too.”

Beaming, Eris nodded and finished throwing things into her bag. Technically, she was supposed to leave tomorrow morning, but picking up the cabin before their final night here was a smart idea. It would make the morning easier.

“I called my mom,” Eris went on, dragging a finger across the tabletop. “I told her I would be extending my trip a little while.” That made her snort, and Gabriel’s grin widened. “She wasn’t even surprised. I guess my sister filled her in on my plans, minus all the R-rated bits.”

“You didn’t want to share that with her?” he asked, amused.

Eris shook her head, forcing down a smile that she didn’t quite hide. “They are going to take care of Bluebell for me. I can last a couple extra days, but all my stuff is still in Virginia. I’ll have to travel back.”

“We’ll travel back,” Gabriel said evenly, causing her eyebrows to lift. “Wherever you go, Eris, I’ll be there with you. I don’t expect you to pack up all your things and move across the country alone.”

“But you do expect me to move?” she teased.

“I expect you to do what you want,” he replied. “And since what you want is me…”

His voice trailed off as she crossed her arms, shaking her head. “My God, your ego. We’re going to have to do something to deflate that. I suppose I shouldn't let you catch me anymore when we play chase.”

Gabriel’s eyes flashed. “Let me, little vixen?”

“Of course.” She reached across the kitchen table, patting his shoulder. “I didn’t want you to push too hard running and hurt your knees.”

That was the turning point, and Gabriel jumped up from the table to grab her and throw her over his shoulder. She was giggling as he gave her a firm spanking, one that left her bucking against his body, and carried her to the room.
