Chapter 19 All Access Cancelled

Early the next morning, I received Zhao De Fa's resignation letter.

I considered it briefly and approved it.

Whether or not he knew about what Zhao Yong Qiang had done, Zhao Yong Qiang had run the mall's security department like a gang. As General Manager, he bore unavoidable responsibility.

I took the opportunity to do a major clean-out of the entire security department.

After all, if an ordinary girl had gone through all of that last night, who knew how deep the psychological scars would have been.

I also fired the Store Manager of the gold shop I had visited last night and made Li Fei the Store Manager. Then I raised wages for all the aunties in the cleaning department, and transferred 100,000 from my personal account to Zhang Gui Fen.

Only after finishing discussions with my mom about the new professional manager candidates did I head back to my Older Brother's company.

And the moment I stepped into the office, Zhou Xu Cheng stormed in right behind me.

Back then I had been too bored at home, so I had taken a nominal position as president's assistant at my Older Brother's company.

It was also at this company that I had met Zhou Xu Cheng.

At first he was just a junior employee. After I took a liking to him, he got promoted three levels in a row.

"Xu Qing Xia, I've already spoken with your lawyer. We're willing to compensate your losses. Why do you still refuse to settle?"

I stared at the documents without lifting my head.

"I just don't want to."

Zhou Xu Cheng slammed the desk hard.

"Xu Qing Xia, that mall under your family's name and the commercial complex under our company are, essentially, competitors. If I take this to the president, what do you think the consequences will be?"

While Zhou Xu Cheng was still going on and on, I picked up the phone on the desk and dialed an extension.

"Linda? Why hasn't HR talked to Zhou Xu Cheng about termination yet?"

Linda gave a brief explanation. I continued,

"Cancel all his company permissions right now. Interview him immediately. I don't want to see this person in the company this afternoon."

All of a sudden, Zhou Xu Cheng froze as if hit by a body-binding spell. It took him a long while to come back to himself.

"You... what right do you have to fire me? You're just a president's assistant! Besides, I haven't violated any company rules at all!!!"

I picked up the phone on the desk and forwarded a post to Zhou Xu Cheng.

"This is a post your sister made on Xiao Hong Shu showing off your salary. Company regulations are very clear—employees are prohibited from posting pay stubs on any social media. Violators are to be terminated without exception."

"Actually I've been following your sister for quite a while, but I never had the heart to dig into which employee's family member she was. But since we already met yesterday, I can't pretend not to know anymore!"

Veins bulged on Zhou Xu Cheng's forehead. His eyes widened as if fire would shoot out.

"Fine! Since you're so ruthless to me, don't blame me for being ruthless either. I'm going to report you to the president right now!!!"

His hand had just touched the door handle when the door opened from outside.

The one who walked in was exactly the president Zhou Xu Cheng had been talking about.

"Perfect timing. Let me introduce you—this is my real Older Brother."

"He also holds shares in that mall from yesterday."

Zhou Xu Cheng's legs went soft. He seemed to lose all strength and all his cards.
