Chapter 12: It's Already Been Done.

Killian

It's 3 a.m.

I stare at her sleeping next to me.

She's still naked and beautiful.

We had to bathe separately after having our moments because we could both tell that our libido would cause us to go after each other again.

I push her hair behind her ear.

"When did I start having feelings for you?" I whisper.

She obviously can't answer as she's fast asleep. Her gentle snoring makes her extra adorable in my eyes.

The feelings might have started with the kiss at the club. I've long written it off as infatuation.

I have the desire to protect her, but that's probably because her brother asked me to.

So, when did it really happen?

My house has always been empty, and she has done a splendid job making it feel habitable again with just her presence.

When I come back from work to find her watching TV or simply having a drink, I feel relief.

Watching her delight in the meals I usually prepare by myself fills me with pride.

Long story short, after all the gloom and emotionally draining day at the hospital, my mind has unconsciously registered her as my little ray of sunshine.

She doesn't even have to do too much. Just her being her childish, bratty self is enough for me.

At first, I thought it was annoying, but now I see it's something she can't help at the moment. With time, she'll heal and grow out of it.

Still…

The state I found her in when I returned from the hospital made me panic.

Judging by her outfit, I knew she left against my warnings.

I wanted to scold her, but seeing her scared and trembling filled me with rage.

Whoever the stalker is, he has to be stopped.

I'm proud of Madison, though. She involved the police, showing that she wasn't going to be taken by some psychopathic stalker.

Then we had sex.

When last did I have sex?

I can't remember.

It's been years.

Is it supposed to feel this good?

Is it because it's… Madison?

I shake my head negatively.

Sex with Madison is forbidden.

Was forbidden.

I don't know how to face Nathan if he ever finds out about this.

"What was I even thinking?" I sigh as I rub my face in frustration.

"Killian…" she calls, startling me.

I turn to her, and she's still asleep.

That scared me for a second, but seeing her relaxed face, I calm down.

I don't know what to do.

Come to think of it.

Was having sex with her anyway to help her?

She was in a sour mood, and I casually told her I wanted to take off her clothes and touch her.

Then again, I had her consent.

So, I guess… that's okay?

I'll just think about it later.

***

I feel someone breathing on me.

I slowly open my eyes and see Madison close to my face.

"You woke up," she sounds disappointed.

"Was that an attempt to murder me?" I ask, as I can't piece together any other reason why she'd be so close to my face that early in the morning.

"Maybe," she says with a smile and returns to lie down at my side.

My eyes go down. She's still naked.

Her eyes follow my gaze, and her cheeks turn red like a tomato. She covers her chest with the sheets.

"Don't stare so hard," she says.

"Sorry about that," I apologize as I look away.

"Good morning, Killian," she greets.

Is it just me, or is she slightly different this morning?

"Good morning, Madison," I reply. "Did you sleep well?"

Ah… we spent half the night fucking, though.

"The best I've ever slept in years," she replies, stretching her body, and then continues, "Although that's not how I expected the night to turn out after what had happened…"

"About that, I'm sorry I slept with you," I apologize. "You were going through something, and I let my desires speak for me."

She stares at me blankly.

"I'm saying I shouldn't have done that. You were in an unstable state, and I feel like I took advantage of that. That was not my intention at all, though," I explain. "Besides, your brother put a lot of trust in me, and I'm sure you also had your expectations of me. I'm usually in control of my emotions, but these days… well, I don't know anymore."

She's still staring at me like I'm saying words that don't make sense.

"What?" I frown.

"I'm just wondering why you're apologizing," she replies as she gets out of bed. "I accept your apology, though. No matter how disappointed I am."

"Disappointed… because of what happened?" I raise a brow in confusion.

She also looks at me with a confused expression and then says with a sigh, "You know, my brother usually says you're the smartest between the two of you, but I have a feeling that's not so true."

"What?" I'm even more confused now.

She stretches again and turns to stare at me.

Her hands are on her hips, and her body is illuminated by the sunlight seeping through the window blinds.

"Do you want me to spell it out?" she asks, a smile forming on her face.

"Will you ever let me live it down?" I ask.

"No," she answers.

"Then my answer is no," I say, crossing my arms.

She also crosses hers, saying, "You don't want to be on the receiving end?"

"I'm the alpha here, mind you," I remind her.

"Really?" She raises her brow and gets into the bed.

Her fingers touch my hips, and that tingling feeling causes me to jolt.

She smirks and asks, "Alpha, is that you?"

"Stop it," I say, but my threat doesn't have much effect.

"Stop what, Alpha Ray?" she asks as she does it again.

"No, don't… ah!" I didn't expect that I'd make a sound like that, but it happened anyway.

"You're so cute," she teases.

"I prefer the term 'ferociously handsome,'" I object.

"Yeah, right, ferociously handsome Killian," she says, then leans in to kiss me.

Her soft lips pressing against mine are an encouragement for my morning wood that I'm still hoping she doesn't notice.

As she pulls away, she licks my lips and then stares at me again. Her eyes are playful.

"Think about it, Killian," she says as she lifts my right hand and places it on her left breast. "Do you know me as a girl who would casually let anyone just make love with her because she's sad?"

"No…"

"Yesterday, I saw Steven," she says. "He licked my face and pulled me to himself. If not for the fact he had my mouth covered, he was going to do worse. I could even feel his pathetic dick pressing against my body."

"What?" I frown.

I was expecting to hear that he just tried approaching her like he had done before. But openly harassing her?

As a doctor, I've sworn to protect and save lives with my hands.

But this Steven makes me want to go against my oath and creed.

How dare he touch her? Who does he think he is?

"There… that's the face," Madison says, interrupting my thoughts as she touches my face. "You got angry for me. There's no woman alive who wouldn't want a man that would get angry for her sake. Last night, I felt disgusted with myself. He made me feel like filth. But you, you made me feel a little more confident. I know it sounds stupid and unnatural to say. But I'm happy you were able to help me forget about it."

"Oh," I finally understand. Now I feel stupid for apologizing.

She touches my erection and gently tugs at it, saying, "I see you still like my body. Do you still think I'm beautiful?"

"I do," I reply instantly. "It almost makes me want to forget that you're usually a headache and bratty."

She pouts and lets go of my dick, saying, "You can handle the rest of it yourself then. Hmph!"

Seriously?

Who still goes hmph?

She gets off me and makes her way to the bathroom, saying, "You can leave my room now. You've done your work. I'm satisfied."

"How about my pay?" I ask. "Or are you just going to leave after getting what you want?"

She turns to me with a smirk, responding, "I'm a selfish brat."

"And she wears it with pride," I say, shaking my head negatively as I step out of the bed.

Her eyes focus on my body but quickly look away as I catch her staring.

She's so beautiful, a fact that I know and probably one that her stalker has known for a long time.

"We need to go back to the police station," I say to her.

***

"I thought you were kidding," she says as we head down to the police station.

"I was not kidding. The stalker isn't either," I say. "This matter is slowly getting worse."

"What makes you say that?" she asks.

"Haven't you ever wondered why he has been able to continue tracking you without you posting your real-time location?" I ask.

She negatively shakes her head.

"Because he's not only stalking you," I point out. "He's stalking people who are close to you. To be able to get hints of where you'd be."

"Oh my God, Gwen," she gasps as the realization hits her.

"We should be grateful that he hasn't done anything to her directly," I say, causing her to calm down a little. "But if he tried to get physical with you, then I'm not so confident in her safety."

"I didn't think about it that way," she says.

"That's why you have me with you," I say to her with a smile. "The sooner we solve this, the better."

We've found the man who chased after the Steven Stalker, according to Madison. He is one of Madison's high school friends from Chloe's party. We arranged a meeting with him at the police station.

We get to the police station and file a complaint.

The police don't take us seriously at first, given that it's the same station that had me arrested by accident.

But now Madison's old friend shows up as a witness, and there's a chance that Gwen and other people who know Madison might be in danger; the police are taking us seriously.

"Thank you for doing this with me," she says as we leave the police station.

"You don't have to thank me yet, not until we catch this guy," I say.

"But at least let me thank you for it right now," she says softly. "You're the best, Killian, and I'm glad my brother has placed you in charge of me."

The smile on her face as she thanks me is enough to make me want to pass out.

I want to protect my Madison from this bastard, and I will.
