Chapter 9 #2

“And if I let you take me on a tour, is it safe? Cause I’m not sure you can keep your hands to yourself.”

“Of course it’s safe,” he drawled, leaning closer. “Since we both know you can’t take this dick quietly.”

Her jaw dropped open, and for a moment, she was speechless. Then she snapped it shut, her glare searing. “Dick Hole,” she hissed under her breath, her voice laced with venom.

“Good try, but you have to be quieter.”

“You know what?” Sorinah shook her head. “Never mind…” she said, changing the subject. “…so I didn’t know you had a house in Trinidad.”

“I’m sure I mentioned it.” He wasn’t trying to keep it a secret. In fact, he was very proud of his home.

Her brow furrowed in confusion. “I thought you meant the penthouse at the Velkomst.”

“That is just a place to rest my head when I only have a day or two to be home.”

“Talk about a nice place to rest your head.” She grabbed the popsicles from the freezer. “Well, I’ll get back to the pool.”

Aldrich’s voice was warm and teasing as he said, “I’ll see you soon for your private tour,” winking at her before slapping her ass as she walked by.

The sudden rain disrupted Aldrich’s plans to give Sorinah a private viewing, scattering his guests from the poolside into the house, where the atmosphere was filled with laughter, the sound of water pattering on the windows mixing with the hum of voices.

Dinah’s children, their spirits undampened by the weather, darted through the rooms, their playful shouts echoing off the walls.

Asha and her brother Aadi wasted no time in claiming Aldrich as their “Uncle Aldy,” their voices brimming with excitement as they pulled him into their games.

Aldrich, ever the gracious host, ordered lunch for everyone. The aroma of fried chicken wafted through the house, and Asha’s eyes lit up as she took her first bite. “This is the best fried chicken I’ve ever had,” she declared, her voice muffled by the food. “Sorry, Mommy, but it’s true.”

Aldrich chuckled, ruffling her hair. “Trinidad’s KFC is world-renowned,” he explained, his voice filled with pride.

Aldrich would have to wait two more days before he found himself in the same room as Sorinah. His mother had arranged for the guests from Canada to spend some time in Tobago, Trinidad’s sister island, but Aldrich had declined the invitation, preferring to stay home.

Now it was Christmas Eve, and Aldrich’s parents’ house was alive with activity.

The air was filled with the aroma of food, the clinking of glasses, the sound of laughter and conversation.

Everyone looked their best, but Sorinah stood out.

Aldrich could barely take his eyes off her.

The green velvet dress she wore, with its single strap and daring slit that exposed one leg, was stunning.

But it was the heels that truly captivated him.

The pencil-thin stilettos, with delicate ribbons that matched her dress, sparked vivid fantasies of using them to bind her.

It probably wasn’t the best idea, but with everyone dancing, he couldn’t resist when she asked him to spin her across the dance floor.

Sorinah was more laid back, her usual demeanour replaced by an uncharacteristic bubbliness. The music pulsed through the room, its rhythm vibrating in his chest.

Fuck, she felt incredible in his arms, her body warm and soft, pressing against his in a way that made it hard to regulate his pulse.

Her scent clung to his senses, impossible to ignore.

A rich combination of jasmine and sandalwood with a trace of sweet musk and citrus remained in the air.

The urge to pull her closer, to feel her breast pressed against his torso, was almost too much to resist, but somehow, he managed to keep his composure.

Aldrich leaned in, his voice barely audible over the music. “Having fun?”

“Yeah, your family really knows how to celebrate the holidays.”

“My parents, but especially my mom, she’s Christmas-obsessed. She’s loving having an extended family to share it with.”

They danced to a few upbeat songs, their laughter mingling with the rhythm of the music, letting themselves get lost in the moment. Then, as the tempo shifted, a slower song began to play, filling the air with a more intimate atmosphere.

“Aldrich?” Her voice, soft and curious, broke the quiet between them, her tone carrying a subtle note of anticipation.

That should have been his first clue. She never called him by his first name.

Her voice was sultry, with a smoky edge that made his body react. “I’ve caught the way you’ve been looking at me all night.”

Sorinah’s nail trailed the back of his neck, the touch light, leaving a faint trail of heat against his skin.

“Behave,” he warned, his tone firm but strained.

“I am,” she purred, her lips curving into a slow, knowing smile. “I admire and appreciate your restraint.”

Now the warning bells were blaring, louder and more insistent. This wasn’t the behaviour of his Kitten. The liquor seemed to have softened her edges, turning her sharp wit into something sweeter, more complimentary. But was it genuine, or just another layer of her game?

“Thank you?” His tone wavered with uncertainty as he processed her words.

“Guess what?” she asked, her voice brimming with glee.

“What?”

“I thought you’d like to know I’m wearing the birthday gift you gave me.”

He choked on his spit and stumbled over his feet. The realisation hit him like a jolt, sending all the blood in his body rushing southward. The vivid image her words conjured ignited a surge of desire, leaving him unable to focus on anything else.

“You didn’t ask which one?” Sorinah taunted.

“It better not be the emerald plug.”

“It is for me to know and for you to find out.” She lowered her voice seductively. “But whichever one it is, it feels fantastic.”

“Really?” His tone was warning, and his grip on her waist tightened. “How is that information helpful?”

She shrugged. “I felt like sharing,” she giggled.

He glanced around, ensuring no one was paying them any attention. “You’re lucky we’re in mixed company. Just remember, payback is a bitch.”

“Ahh, lighten up, DH.” She threw her head back and laughed, her carefree demeanour only fuelling his frustration.

Sorinah’s mood shifted abruptly when Rohan approached Aldrich, asking to cut in on their dance.

Aldrich, with a knowing smirk, stepped aside, his eyes locking with Sorinah’s as he granted the request. Her response was an immediate searing glare that spoke volumes, a look that had always stirred something primal within him.

Aldrich’s payback began with a text. He seized the perfect moment to act.

I’m going to stick my tongue in your ass and finger fuck you until you come on my face.

He fully expected her to treat him to one of her signature looks when he texted her while she sat on the couch surrounded by her sisters.

Instead, her eyes rounded, and one hand circled her neck before her teeth sank into her bottom lip.

His text excited her so much that the outrage he expected never materialised.
