Chapter 13

CHAPTER THIRTEEN

WHERE WERE YOU TAKING ME?

Sorinah

If anyone had asked Sorinah if she would enjoy Aldrich playing keep-away with her orgasm, her answer would have been an emphatic hell no.

Yet, edging was uncharted territory for her, and like everything else, Aldrich approached it with a masterful touch.

When he finally murmured, “Go on, Kitten. It’s time.

” Sorinah felt as though she’d slipped into an out-of-body experience.

To her shock, squirting wasn’t just a myth—it was a gushing reality.

Aldrich’s reaction to her torrential release was to discard his condom and paint her breasts and stomach with his climax.

She lay there, coated in globs of his come, an experience she’d never imagined finding strangely hot.

Being drenched in a man’s release had certainly never been on her bucket list, but this was unexpectedly intoxicating.

DH might have been insufferable, but his sex game? Unmatched.

While he stepped out to fetch a cloth for cleanup, curiosity nudged her. She couldn’t help wondering—did his come taste different when it wasn’t fresh from the source?

Just as Sorinah licked her finger dipped in his essence, Aldrich reappeared with a lusty groan that reverberated through her body like an electric shock.

“I think you’re trying to kill me tonight,” he said, his gaze raking over her body with an intensity that made her shiver.

“Me trying to kill you? Might I point out it’s the wee hours of the morning? You put me through a marathon,” she retorted, arching a brow.

“It was deserved,” he grumbled, scooping her up in his arms with an ease that bordered on show-off territory.

He carried her to the bathroom, and Sorinah couldn’t help but marvel.

Sure, he’d lifted her during their heated moments, but she’d assumed the wall was doing half the work.

The man was built like a Greek statue come to life, all lean muscularity and sculpted lines, yet here he was, hoisting her as if she were weightless.

He didn’t so much as break a sweat or let out a single laboured breath, leaving her torn between being impressed and mildly offended at his nonchalance.

“Where were you taking me?” she asked.

“Bathroom, I figured it would be easier to get you cleaned up.”

The shower was already running when he placed her in the stall. Mm, he’d nailed the temperature perfectly.

“Hey,” she squeaked as he stepped into the shower, water cascading around them. “What are you doing in here?”

Sorinah’s after-coital bliss had evaporated like mist under the morning sun. He knew how she felt about sharing a shower—damn him for pushing boundaries.

“Stop being a baby,” he said, water dripping from his hair. “I’m not trekking to the other shower when this one’s already on and warm.”

She narrowed her eyes, irritation prickling like static. “Fine,” she huffed, her voice tight.

The stall was silent except for the rhythmic patter of water and Sorinah’s furious scrubbing, body wash suds swirling down the drain. Why did he have to change things? And whistle, as if this were some cheerful routine.

He leaned over her shoulder, his breath warm against her ear. “Would you like me to wash your back?”

She caught the teasing lilt in his voice and fought the urge to squirt body wash into his eye—though she could do it herself, his proximity made it tempting to let him.

The touch was firm yet efficient, leaving no room for lingering caresses—Aldrich got the job done with precision, exactly as she needed.

“Thank you,” she said.

His only response was a playful smack to her ass.

She wanted to reciprocate by washing his back but hesitated, not wanting to tempt fate.

Feelings were off-limits in their arrangement.

This “situationship” had become the longest and most functional one she’d ever had, and she was determined to keep it that way.

Sorinah clung to the comfort of their unspoken boundaries.

Relief washed over her when they finished showering without upsetting the delicate balance of their dynamic.

As her head hit the pillow, Sorinah was out like a light, her sleep so deep she didn’t even dream. When she woke, she stretched, feeling well-rested, only to find the spot beside her empty. Aldrich, as usual, was nowhere to be seen—he was notorious for avoiding sleep.

At that moment, he strode into the room, fully dressed and sipping from a mug, looking as put-together as if he’d spent the night at a board meeting rather than a club followed by a passionate sheet-tangling session.

“Did I oversleep?” Sorinah asked, reaching for her phone.

“No, we have a few hours before our flight to Madrid,” he replied. “I thought I’d need more sleep about an hour ago, but I woke up well-rested.”

“And you didn’t wake me up?” she asked, arching an eyebrow.

“We were up late. You looked peaceful.”

She smiled at his thoughtfulness.

Then he ruined the moment with a smirk as he retreated from the room. “And you were snoring like a freight train.” He left with a chuckle.

“I don’t snore,” she protested, flipping him off as he disappeared. The audacity of that man! The next blowjob would include teeth.

She shot him the finger again before grabbing her phone. No new messages, except one from Imogen, her assistant, the ever-efficient multitasker.

Text message.

Imogen

Call me as soon as you get this. I have news.

Carner reached out.

Sorinah’s pulse quickened. Veto Panger finally wanted a meeting? The only hitch was, could she squeeze it in before their flight? She found Aldrich at the desk in the sitting area, hunched over his work. She approached, placing a hand on his shoulder and running her fingers through his hair.

“Hey, DH? Can I get you a refill?”

He swivelled to face her, one eyebrow arched skeptically. “What do you want?”

“Why so suspicious?”

“Because you’re being unnervingly sweet.”

“I’m nice to you,” she insisted.

“Sure,” he drawled, emphasizing the word. “What do you want?”

Sorinah explained how her potential client had unexpectedly offered her an appointment in Madrid that afternoon, framing it as an incredible opportunity.

“Is that all? I’ll check with the flight crew, but I don’t see why we can’t delay the last leg of the trip’s flight from London to Trinidad by a couple of hours,” Aldrich reassured her.

True to his word, he rescheduled the flight, giving Sorinah just enough time to polish her already prepared presentation.

“What are you doing back so quickly?” he asked when she returned to the suite less than an hour after leaving for her meeting, her frustration evident.

The meeting had been a complete disaster, leaving Sorinah seething at how women still faced patronizing men like Veto Panger in professional settings.

“It didn’t pan out,” she said tersely.

“Mm. Why is that?” he probed further.

Though the failure wasn’t her fault, the interaction left her feeling deflated and irritated.

“You know how business is,” she sighed, wrapping her arms around his shoulders. “I’m sure we can find something to occupy our time.”

Spending time with Aldrich offered a welcome distraction from the sting of her disastrous meeting.

With a nine-hour flight looming ahead, his calm demeanour was the perfect distraction.

“You can tell me what happened,” he offered gently. “I can just listen, or we can brainstorm a way to turn this around.”

“Fine, I’ll tell you what happened, but no, I don’t want your help.

” Sorinah took a steadying breath and recounted to Aldrich the vile man’s words.

She mimicked the man’s accent. “I don’t want to waste your time.

I read your portfolio before you came to see me.

I know exactly what your company can offer mine.

As you’re aware, there are larger companies that can do more for us.

So my question to you, Sorinah, is what can you do for me?

Depending on your answer, I think we can do business together. ”

The memory of Veto Panger’s oily tone made Sorinah’s hands tremble, so she tucked them firmly under her thighs to hide the shaking.

She paused, glancing out the window as if searching for an escape from the moment.

“I told him I couldn’t see any possibility of our companies working together in the future, and I left.”

Aldrich’s eyes blazed with a fury that looked like heavy corrosive smoke, a warning of something lethally dangerous simmering beneath the surface.

His voice sounded dangerously gruff. “Did he put his fucking hands on you?”

“No.” She shook her head, her voice firm.

“I’m sorry you had to endure that. You didn’t deserve to be spoken to like that. He’s a disgusting man, and he’s going to get what’s coming to him.”

“They could be the bearers of bad news, but men like him rarely pay the price,” she replied, her words laced with a weary cynicism.
