Chapter 8

___________

Lyra

The air inside the car was getting hot and stuffy. Outside, the towering trees swayed, stirring memories from my youth. They felt a little hazy, like fragments of a dream.

Looking back, perhaps I wasn”t fully ready to witness the miracle about to appear before my very eyes, nor was I prepared to open up about my drinking problem.

But it happened anyway.

”Don”t get scared.”

”Scared, me?” I said. ”What makes you think I”m scared? I just witnessed an invisible force rescue me from a group of thugs, drive me into a secluded part of the woods, admit he was perving on me this morning, and get me to own up to my drinking problem. I”m not scared at all, not one teeny, tiny bit.”

”Well, that”s that settled then,” he said. I guessed sarcasm didn”t exist where he came from. ”Do you want to close your eyes?”

”Will it make a difference?”

”Probably not.”

”Then, if it”s all right with you, I”ll keep them open.”

”As you wish. Okay, here goes.”

I gulped loudly as a fresh jolt of fear rose in my throat. I was about to witness a marvel, a phenomenon that would change my life forever.

It started with his hands on the steering wheel, emerging slowly, long and thin, with a distinct purple hue. The color of his skin was mesmerizing, a deep shade of violet that seemed otherworldly. As his forearms manifested, they were as hairless as the rest of his body.

The air in the car carried a faint, exotic scent, like a mixture of unfamiliar spices. My heart pounded in my chest as the rest of him materialized - the definition of his chest muscles, his solid thighs accentuated by black shorts tight over his bulging package.

Oh my, he was a big boy.

Finally, his face appeared, and our eyes locked in a captivating gaze. His yellow eyes had a mysterious coloration. He greeted me with a wicked smile that sent shivers down my spine.

Despite the initial fear, there was an inexplicable attraction, as if his presence exuded an aura that intrigued and fascinated me. He was hot and surprisingly attractive for a purple-looking alien. His body was so lean and athletic, and I could only imagine the size of his foreign anatomy. The way he held himself with such pride and strength made me clench my thighs.

”Nothing like E.T. then,” I said, my cheeks glowing red.

”No, he had big, bulging eyes.”

And you have a big, bulging package.

”Indeed,” I said, warmth filling my chest.

I remember thinking that I should have probably run from the car, screaming that an alien had kidnapped me and taken me into the forest, but another part of me trusted him. I had an overwhelming compulsion to lean forward and kiss him. His lips twitched, and my pussy pulsed as I wondered how he would taste and how it would feel to have him lapping between my thighs.

”Are you okay?” he asked, clicking his fingers by my face.

”Fine, just fine,” I said, taking a deep breath. I couldn”t let this purple beast know he was turning me on just by looking at me. I had to get my act together. ”Zalantha? Right?”

”That”s me,” he said, winking.

Our eyes met again, and I felt instant peace. You know that sensation when you meet an elderly person waiting for a bus and can open up and tell them that you forgot to change your underwear or that you only have $3 to your name, that sort of feeling.

My traitorous eyes glanced between his thighs, and I could have sworn something twitched down there, something bulbous and meaty, something that would feel good inside me.

Then I remembered I was facing an alien, an alien with supernatural powers, possibly even mind-reading abilities.

Oh shit, what if he could read my mind?

He laughed.

”It”s not true, is it?” I asked, staring into his yellow eyes.

”What”s not true?”

”What, I just thought?”

”How am I supposed to know that?” he asked, shrugging innocently. God, his shoulders were perfectly rounded.

”You seem to know plenty about me. I wouldn”t put it past you.”

”Don”t worry. I cannot read your mind.”

”Then how do you know about my drinking issue.”

”Actions speak louder than a speaking mind. Gin. Eleven. Morning.”

”Fine,” I responded with unease.

”Why do you think you did that?” he asked, his eyes holding a mixture of curiosity and concern.

His question hung in the silence, and I hesitated for a moment. A bizarre willingness to open up and share my struggles with this enigmatic being niggled inside. I wasn”t ready to pour my heart out, so I avoided his question.

”Wow, you don”t beat around the bush, do you?”

”Let”s just say I”m on a time frame.”

”Why”s that? Do you have to go back to your planet?”

”I don”t have a planet. I escaped from one.”

”You escaped from one? Right, sure you did. Which one, Mars, Pluto, or Uranus?”

”No,” he said, smirking. ”Mesoterra.”

”Uh-huh,” I said, frowning. ”And what”s it like on Mesoterra? Hot, purple, and full of volcanoes.”

”Oh, it”s hot, all right,” he said, staring into my eyes. My insides squirmed, and my clit throbbed. Oh my, this was becoming unbearable. ”But mostly it”s foliage with green fields growing crops.”

”Crops, why, what do you grow there?”

”I can”t reveal that yet.”

”When can you? How about you take me there to show me?”

”I just escaped from there. I don”t plan on returning ever again. Besides, you wouldn”t like it there.”

I stared at him, half expecting him to break into laughter, revealing that this was all an elaborate joke. However, nothing of the sort happened, and the sincerity in his eyes left me grappling with the reality of the situation.

”Why not?”

”Let”s just say they do unorthodox things there.”

”Who do?”

”The Mesotharizians.”

”Oh, right, yeah, of course, the Mesowhateverians.”

He smiled and nodded knowingly.

”I don”t expect you to believe me. I wouldn”t.”

Silenced loomed as I absorbed his words. Zalantha, who recently escaped from planet Mesoterra, was telling me the truth, and it scared the crap out of me.

”So why are you here exactly?”

”To help you become free.”

”Oh, fantastic,” I said, holding my arms out with my wrists together. ”Free me, my wild purple alien. Free me with your magical powers.”

He glanced at my hands and smirked.

”It”s more a mental freedom.”

”Oh, yeah. I”d almost forgotten.”

And that”s when the flashbacks flashed in my mind. Mom was drunk on the floor with her ballooned ankle, Father withered in his armchair, skinny and weak, and me preparing a gin and Coke and eleven in the damn morning.

Guilt crept over me as I contemplated my actions, the weight of responsibility pressing on me. Thoughts of Charlie and the families I wanted to help whizzed through my mind, urging me to confront the truth about my struggles.

”How can you free me?” I asked, the backs of my eyes burning.

”There”s no magic formula. It”s more about self-discovery. First, you have to observe yourself, analyze, and understand why you drink. Then, over time, you”ll see that you don”t need it, that it”s a mind game, a trap, and you”ll break free.”

”Just like that?” I asked, clicking my fingers.

”Just like that.”

He gazed into my eyes, and, for a second, I could sense that he desired me as much as I craved him. Maybe this was all a ploy to get me into bed and have his purple way with me.

I had to be cautious, though.

”Wow, you should start a YouTube channel, you”d be loaded.”

”I already am loaded.”

I resisted the urge to glance between his legs.

”So, what do I do?” I asked.

”Later, you”ll carry on as normal, go to work, and help people. But you”ll need to listen to your brain, that monster in your head asking you to drink. Don”t worry, though; I”ll be here giving you words of encouragement.”

”You mean like whispering sweet nothings into my ear.”

”If you like.”

We stared at each other again, and my nipples tightened. Why did I find Zalantha so damn attractive?

”You said later.”

”I did.”

”So, what about now?”

”Now, it”s time for a trip down memory lane.” He reached out and placed his warm hand on my forehead. A wave of pure bliss rocketed up my spine.

”Hang on, what do you mean?”

”Don”t worry, shh,” he said, whispering. ”Sometimes we must go back before we go forward. Just go with the flow.”

”What flow?” I asked, feeling myself getting sleepy.

”The magical flow.”

He pressed his hand firmer and placed his other on my neck. My body shook slightly as a warm sensation spread through me. Then, an unexpected sense of peace washed over me, akin to the serene moments experienced during meditation and yoga, and I drifted away.

”Memory lane, did you say?” I muttered.

”Yes, memory lane.”
