I tug at his waistband again and flash a toothy smile. “And why should we? I bet we can create some amazing music on this piano.” I lean back playfully against the piano lid, spreading my legs wide and inviting.
He rakes his hands through his brown hair and over his face. “Woman. I’m seconds away from stripping you naked and bending you over that lid.”
I beckon him come hither with my finger. “I love that for us.”
He shudders. “I do, too, as soon as I install blinds on our windows.” He nods toward the storefront window. “I just don’t want to share you with downtown Hopewell Crossing.” I gaze outside and am grateful to see the empty corner of Evergreen and Main.
I slide off the piano, my hand finding his, my voice low. “Then take me somewhere else. Now.” I don’t have to ask him twice. He pulls me toward the hallway at the back of the store and to a set of stairs that I know leads to the apartment above the shop. “Is anyone up there?” I ask.
“No, it’s been vacant awhile. But I’ve been crashing there while visiting my folks,” he says.
The stairs creak under our hurried steps. We stop halfway up as I yank off his green sweater and tug his jeans down. As he stands there in just his boxers, I growl with approval.
The second time we stop, we sink into a hungry, passionate kiss.
I lean back against a step as his rock-hard body covers mine.
I moan, feeling him press against me, and angle my hips, pulling him between my legs.
As he swells, the fabric of his boxers causes a delicious and frustrating friction.
I moan, eagerly pressing myself even closer.
“I don’t know if I can make it all the way up to the door,” Robbie says, almost scared.
My laugh is throaty as I settle on a stair with an easy answer for him.
“Then take me here.” I spread my legs in invitation.
His eyes pop and a feral smile forms on his perfect lips.
I whimper as his hand slides up my legs, gently pushing them farther apart, then between my thighs.
I gasp as his fingers find me slick and ready for him.
Robbie slowly lifts my skirt high despite the hunger in his eyes and my need.
He angles his head between my legs, murmuring about how he wants to know how I taste.
My back arches and I cry out as his mouth finds me.
With each of his kisses, long and hard, the coils in my stomach tighten, and tighten painfully.
I wrap my fingers in his hair and whimper and moan his name, begging him to keep going.
He answers by increasing his speed and thrusting his tongue harder and deeper.
I cry out as I see a flash of light behind my eyes and then my body explodes into a thousand tiny stars.
I collapse back onto the stairs, my head spinning, covered in sweat, and my body limp.
Robbie pulls away, a satisfied look on his face.
As I lay catching my breath, my eyes rove over the hard planes of his toned body and linger on the tasty swell in his boxers. “Off,” I order. He is eager to comply.
I can almost weep from the want I feel seeing his naked body. The ache between my legs has returned and I need this man, all of this man, inside me. But first, I grab his hand and lean forward, hungry and eager to see how my best friend tastes.
He moans as I lick and tease until finally I wrap my mouth around him. I delight as he throws his head back and whimpers my name. As my lips increase speed, Robbie’s cries grow louder.
“Wait,” he pants, hands gripping the stair rail. “If you keep going like that I’m going to lose control, and I don’t want this to be over just yet.”
“Then you better take me somewhere else or we’ll never get off these steps.”
“Right,” he says breathlessly, before patting his sides and realizing his apartment keys are in his pants pocket. And he’s no longer wearing pants.
I watch pleased and amused as he runs naked down the stairs to grab his jeans, which lay crumpled on the floor.
I don’t think Mr. and Mrs. Morrow ever imagined their son giving head in their store.
It makes me giggle. As Robbie comes running up the stairs, keys and condom in hand, I’m determined to make new memories of the store with him.
A few frustrated key jangles and we’re inside the apartment. I don’t have time to study my surroundings, other than to note the place is bare except for an air bed, an open suitcase, and a brown couch where I follow Robbie eagerly.
But instead of our bodies crashing onto the couch, he stops in front of it. I turn to him, a questioning look on my face. “What?” I breathe.
“I just wanted to admire you for a moment, MG.”
I tilt my head. “Don’t you mean MGS?”
He flushes and reaches for my hand. “MGS wasn’t a reference to your initials.”
I frown. “What do you mean? Marygrace Silva?”
“Actually, it was my pet name for you: My Girl Someday.” He lifts my hand and kisses it. “Now you’re My Girl.” He smiles broadly.
I gasp as the realization hits me. “But you’ve been calling me MGS since forever.”
He kisses my nose. “I know. I’ve been in love with you for a little while.”
My heart swells. “I’ve been so lost,” I murmur. Love has been right in front of me the whole time. Like Madam Lunas said, finding happiness sometimes means changing perspective. It just took a little intervention from my rideshare driver to realize it.
Robbie smirks at me. “Are you still with me here?”
I laugh and tilt my head up. “Yes. I am one hundred percent with you.” I kiss him.
“And now, I want one hundred percent of you inside me.” I push him down on the couch and remove the remainder of my clothing, watching his eyes widen like saucers as he takes me in.
“You’re so beautiful,” he manages to say.
As I lower myself atop him, he lifts his head and I lower mine to kiss him hungrily.
I cry out as he enters me. Our rhythm slows down as I feel him—all of him—deep inside me. I twist and he follows my lead as he flips and covers my body. Our movements quicken and move with urgency until once again Robbie sends me to the stars.
As our eyes meet, I make another request: “How about we go for an opera-length performance,” I suggest.
“Operas are pretty long and hard,” he teases.
I wrap my legs around him. “I think you’ve got what it takes.”
He laughs and kisses me slow and tender as our bodies move in perfect concert.
That night, as I fall asleep in my best friend’s arms on his air bed, I thank Madam Lunas, the universe, and the spirit of the season for the perfect Christmas gift.
